Having trouble measuring, is the wheel centered in the '77 SS 550 swingarm?

 Never assume they are.. measure sprocket off set from center of hub..

I'm guessing you're talking about the countershaft sprocket, right? Sheesh, I don't know if I can figure that out...

 Measure the width or your rear hub at the spoke flages.. divide that by 2,
 Take from where you measured your hub width, measure from there to the rear sprocket.
 now add that to your 1/2 of hub width.

 Build your new wheel with that same offset to the sprocket, then line the rear sprocket up to the front sprocket, THEN, make your wheel spacers..

The center I had machined was done to the same specs as stock. I'm horrible at measuring, and the machine shop is halfway across the country. If someone knows if the stock wheel is centered, and if not, offset how much and to what side, those measurements would work for my application.

 Should mention if it were a few or 3mm off, it will still work, but should be corrected soon.. Usually just making spacers..
