« on: June 22, 2006, 09:19:43 PM »
just got a new triple tree in the mail and the brakets to hold the forks in at 1/8" too big.

so i was wondering if i could shim the forks with something to fill that gap so i could use this tree.

and if so whay would i use? metal? rubber?

How many mm?  Take it as a sign to get beefier front forks - I wouldn't muck around with shimming these - wee bit risky.

i was thinking if i took a small peice of say..aluminum or such and used some jb weld to affix it to the inside of the clamp that it should work?

or is this just a horrible suicide line of thinking and should give it up wanting new bars....
