Snooty Virgin Australia biatch at the check in counter this morning. Why is it that I have to argue with these twerps every time I check in? My travel clerk told me she'd booked an "Economy X" ticket for my return flight from Hobart, and of course when I check in the check in chick gives me a standard ticket?

I ask her to check again, and she rips up the first ticket and just about throws my Economy X ticket at me, and tries to say that it was somehow my fault, because I'd checked in on line? I told her that I hadn't checked in, and checking in was why I was standing in front of her, took my ticket and strolled away shaking my head.

Luckily I put my car keys in my pocket, because I'm not confident that I'll see my luggage any time soon......

weird size things piss me of,my wife bought a used York brand rowing machine for 25 bucks,looked good etc,got it home and I thought ill do the right thing and give it a clean up and lube the bearings and pulleys,well #$%*in hell one seat wheel had a crack in the plasic outer no big deal but as soon as my wife tried it out the others just fell apart,38mm with an 8mm bore I can find 30/35 with 7mm bore online?i had four smaller roller bearings ive press ganged into use for the time being but #$%*ing noisy action on the ramp channel,being sunday ill crack a beer and think about it for a while.

Those wheels look like roller blade wheels, but smaller OD? I bought a pair of skates at a thrift store once, just for the wheels; think I paid $2?

Dave, they are imperial sized wheels...  38mm is 1 1/2 inches and the 8mm is roughly 5/16 inch.

Canberra, Australia's capital, has just legalised the personal use of cannabis. That's right, from January next year, anyone in Canberra can legally be in possession of up to 50 grams (around 2 ounces) of whoopy weed, and can cultivate up to 4 plants for their own personal use. I lived in Canberra for almost 2 years, and as soon as I leave, they turn the joint (pun intended) into party town! Those fcukers!

I'm going to predict that the population of Canberra is going to double overnight, and their tourism economy is going to boom, from January next year, and I'm just pissed off that none of the other states are going to follow in Canberra's footsteps any time soon!

States here that have legalized it have some marked problems with staffing lower income jobs. It is not a good thing in my opinion. Impacts on intelligence from long term use and the stuff today has increased addictive properties, when compared to that of the weed available 30-40 years back.
Federal government here still considers it a controlled substance so you cannot partake of it if you are employed by them. Operating a vehicle while impaired is still a crime and dui charges can have long impacts to one’s employment as well as insurance rates.
Heck some apartment complexes and house realtors have criminal background checks as well.

How have they gone around testing ( accurately) levels in the blood on roadside tests like they do with alcohol
It looks like here they're just going to still have a blanket zero level which is bollocks cos it can stay in your system for weeks ( I've enjoyed some seriously strong stuff in my time but nothing that leaves you bent 2 weeks later....)
I predict Canberra's public transport system is going to get very crowded with some very mellow people

Yep, we already have drug testing by the cops so anyone stupid enough to smoke and drive/ride deserve whatever punishment they get IMHO, but the thought of being allowed to grow my own little mary jane plant for my own use and whiling away my retirement sitting out on the porch with a home brewed ginger joe in one hand and a home grown spliff in the other seems rather pleasant.

Oh, and I forgot to mention that I'm having more gut surgery in two weeks and possibly more again in 6 months, which does piss me off ever so slightly. Oh well, as long as there's oxycodone to be had afterwards, it won't be too foul.........

With weed and some oxycodone I can still do almost all of the stuff that I want to do but the politicians are trying to cut off my oxy because others abuse it. Just last week my Dr told me that the politicians are trying to force him to cut back on my prescription so they look good in war against drugs, election season is near. Those #$%*s really piss me off.

Although some of the things are not good at all, some of the things for nerve pain #$%* me up worse than the pain does next  day the pain is back a little stronger and that fine surgical instrument that my brain is, is fuzzy and slow and I'm irritable as well.

Wow, that's no good mate, I didn't even know there was a stage 4, what's the long term outlook? When my brother died his wife and son found about 50 unopened packs of 0xycodone that he'd been saving for a rainy day, I wish I'd found them first, they threw them out! Anyway, all the best mate.

Medical uses of weed are numerous and beneficial...no issues with that.

Thanks guys, I am in remission I guess. I have to get a nasty shot once a month to keep my numbers down  but no new growths. I still ride and work on bikes, physically I am in good shape. I rode 3700 miles in 11 days and 3 smaller trips this summer on my Concours plus all of the other riding on the Sabre as well. Likely around 10k total miles this year. Not bad for a half dead dude.

Kelly E, Drive her as they used to say I'm at the stage where other things are having glitches, also it's getting to a transfusion once a week, thank god I'm part of the assisted dying thing any how like I said Driver while you can. the other thing thank god I live in Canada socialized medicine is wonderful thing.

You Drive her too Bill. My wife works at a hospital with a cancer center, I get first class care. I know my best defense is to stay active. When I was in radiation(45 15min. and 6-1hr treatments) I went to the shop and did something every day when I got home, even if it was only for 10 minutes. I saw too many quitters when I was in treatment. Other than the cancer I am in near perfect health for a 60yo. I like to remind my Dr that I am way more active than he is.

Well guys it's not so much that. It's more about being able to to tell the ones that want to stick me in an institution or a home to go shag themselves, I've seen too much of the poor ones hooked up to wires and tubes much like a grotesque hydroponic vegetable unable to properly die or get better. Me. I've got all the paper work done, Doctor's on board, Kids have been warned, so any petty functionary that starts to make pronouncements about W.D. McIntosh can go #$%* themselves in 4/4 time, there are some out there that feel they know what's best for the old people. Well this old people know's what's best for the deciders.
I'll try to get the kids to send messages to SOHC to let you know that I hit the apex. dropped it and slid off the mountain.
