A lot of these pr1cks don't even have licenses Dave, the laws are so piss weak that they either never get one, or they've lost it years ago for drunk/drug driving. They don't worry about getting back, they just drive and take their chances. The truck driver (another Indian, like the one who killed the cops) who smashed into my Subaru and pissed off didn't have a license, all he had on him was a bank card.
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

5 weeks of "disqualified" claims for the Pandemic Unemployment Assistance benefit.
No returned emails, no phone conversation, no option to appeal via the department web portal.

I know the system and CARES act benefits are working for other people.  So how did my claim get so bungled up by this system.

Every step I've taken has been met with decisions opposite of what the departments own bulletins state!  WTF?

Not getting paid pisses me off

That's no good Cowman, did you get the Donald J Trump $1200 handout? My mate Jim in Oregon was wondering why he got it, as he's still got a job? Or was that for something else? ;D

Every taxpaying 'murican is on the list to get the $1200 stimulus cheque.
Got mine in the mail.  The folks got theirs direct deposit.

The unemployment ordeal is a separate issue.  Judging by the thousands of comments on the departs facebook, I'm not the only one.
Sent a letter to the district legislators.  Since the department is not communicating with the commoners, maybe they'll give attention to the elected officials!

Cowman most of the issues with the unemployment is that Pukelousy and gang insisted that the money(even though it is federal money) had to go the state system's. So there are 50 different versions of dispersing it.

I can only speak to experience with the pandemic unemployment assistance rollout where I'm at.

The big hangups are for the people who were underemployed last year (c'est moi!) - who were laid off due to covid-19 - who applied before the system was updated with the pandemic guidelines - who reapplied with the official pandemic assistance application - who continue to file but are getting bucked by the system processing server.
If it were possible to get in touch with a real human rights now, the matter could probably be resolved in a few keystrokes and things would be resolved.  But they'll have to do this a thousand times over due to how many people are having this same exact problem!

Meanwhile, the social media team is posting away like everyone in that office is ready and willing to help get these funds distributed!

Well I managed to fix my original 26 year old Harley Sportster speedo cable on Saturday, so was slightly pissed off when the new Motion Pro one (now no longer required) that I ordered a month ago arrived today. But being the magpie I am, I was drawn to the shiny stainless steel outer sheath, so I thought, "fcuk it, I'll fit it anyway".

On closer inspection though, I noticed that it has a threaded fitting on the speedo drive end, not a push in fitting, as per my original "I previous owner" bike that han't been fcuked with, except by me. I checked my manual and online, and yep, it should have a push in fitting. On even closer inspection, it was way too short, so I went to the Motion Pro site, and yep, it's a -1" ( inch shorter) custom cable. There was no mention of that in the Ebay listing. Fcuk. I looked up the stock length cable (which lists for $22 USD more than the one inch shorter version, WTF?) and once again, the cable has a threaded end fitting, so ALL the Motion Pro cables listed for my bike are wrong!

I sent the seller a message with pics of both cable ends, the VIN tag of my bike etc etc, and asked for one that will actually fit my bike. His listing had it fitting my bike, so it's "not as described" even though it's not his fault, it's Motion Pro's cock up, I was just lucky I was able to fix mine, but I have a useless cable that doesn't fit anything else I own, and I'm out 50 bucks, or so. I can't even just use the inner cable, as it's too fcuking short. Pffft. ;D

Ha ha, I thought I'd check to see if it'd fit the old Iron Head Sporty, but I'll just about guarantee that it won't. I was looking at an old rough Evo FXR (1340 "Big Twin") the other day, but while I dithered, someone else jumped on it. Oh well, with the current covid-19 situation, I won't be wandering around looking at bikes, even though there are bargains out there at the moment due to some folks doing it hard.

I got to ride an  pretty much brand new FXR in the late 90s , I had to drop it at the dealers for service for the owner
He'd told me that the brakes were fine but......
Thank god there was a slightly bigger than a Harley gap between those two cars
Even the single stock disc on my 750 made the twin Harley discs look pathetic

Between the brakes and the ' relaxed ' amount of power available from a motor nearly twice the size of my Honda, I pretty much decided then I'd probably never bother seeking active ownership of one of those things

I have ridden a few since but none have ever come close to changing my mind

4 cylinders is where it is ( mind you I've never had a go at a 6.....)

Back to work tomorrow, only half the number that were on site before lockdown. While I'm pleased to be one of the lucky ones with a job to go to. Don't these bastards realise my garage is now a bloody mess. I've tidied it up twice, then start pulling stuff out to look at it. I haven't a clue what motorcycle some of the stuff came off.
Not having time to tidy my garage again pisses me off.

Nah, they're great Spotty, you probably rode one in stock trim, strangled by the EPA requirements. Chuck a better carb and pipe on one, and that's when the brakes are extra scary. I don't think the single puck front caliper on my '94 Sporty was worse than a stock CB750, it it certainly wasn't better.

I pissed it off and installed a Performance Machine (PM) 4 piston front caliper, meant for the back of a Harley. It only just fits, but by God, it pulls it up better than the brakes on most of my more modern bikes. I know this forum is full of Harley haters, but that's OK, I laugh inwardly at some of their choices too, individuality is what makes the world go 'round. ;D

Despite everything I said above......a V-Rod might turn my head, I'd have to ride one and see

but for same money I could have a gen II Vmax which would totally destroy a V-Rod

There again there are some stupidly overbuilt busas out there that would still give me change from either of those .......

Sorry, got distracted there , forgive me, sort of forgot where I was, should have at least have given Honda a mention....

1st MODEL CB1100R with the Kevlar single seat, that's the thing
However for the price of one of them I could have all 3 of the above bikes

Good for you mate, a few of the guys here have them, and love them, I like lots of different bikes but I've owned CB750's pretty much continuously since 1978, and can't remember how many I've owned. Funnily I don't have much interest in Modern bikes, regardless of how good they are. ;D

I nearly bought a CB1100R a couple of times Spotty, after watching them walk away from everything else at the Castrol 6 Hour, and as recently as just before Christmas I was offered a rough one for $5K in NZ, but I dithered, and didn't buy it. No biggie, they were good bikes, but I couldn't own a mint one, or I'd be too frightened to ride it, in case I dropped it. I suppose my RC51 is my most "Collectable" bike, but the good thing is, I have another one for spares, if I throw it down the road..... ;D

 Cheers. ;)

That's no good Brian, ramps for your scooter? What about turning it into a tracked vehicle?

No Tez ramps for me. I have three steps at the front and back of my house.
When I was still at rehab the lads wanted to install an access ramp for me but I told them they could shove that idea up their ass if they wanted to help out they could stick a couple hand rails in for me.(which they did)

On the way out of the house I copped a muscle spasm and down I when't like a bag of #$%*.

I'm a little pissed as my son took the only currently running bike with him when he moved out (1976 cb550 all original brown). Oh well, guess that means I will have to work on either the  last remaining cb500 or Kawasaki S1....

Other thing that pissed me off: my Jonsered CS2172 (70+cm2 ) blew a ring after running fine for 10 years. Ordered a new piston, cylinder etc for nearly $200 . Cleaned up the debris , installed new piston etc and it ran for all of 15 minutes before blowing another ring. This is  what I have been reading happens when people bought Chinese parts on ebay etc, but the ones I bought were Huskarvarna OEM (whom bought out Jonsered a few years back). Well at least the seller is replacing the parts free of charge. This sets me back a bit as I have 5-7 more cords to cut this summer and don't want to buy another $1,100.00+ chainsaw .

Sorry to hear about your beer situation Terry.

The problem nowadays is that a lot of the "OEM" parts are made in China, so it doesn't matter if it's a Stihl or a McCulloch, the parts probably come out of the same factory, or the one next door. My ginger beer is 100% Australian made. ;D
