Shouldn't the shop be paying for it since the car was in their care and control?

Yes…. Tim (also the guy I race the LEXUS with) has already found a good, used replacement. I’m not that fussed about it. Remember, I smashed the race car is the Spring…… He’ll make it right, for sure.

My 22 year old Ford pickup doesn’t have a mark on it either, but after spending some time (and a fair bit of cash) at the shop I noticed a small dent under the left sill panel that I hadn’t noticed before. If I was a suspicious type I’d guess that they either tried to jack it up in the wrong spot or drove over something like an arm of their hoist, but as I couldn’t be sure that it wasn’t there before I dropped it off, I just let it go. The trouble now is every time I look at the truck I notice the dent and it pisses me off.

Did some cleaning and loaded 15 old tires on my trailer.  10 motorcycle tires and 5 car tires.

At the dump they told me only 4 tires at a time and that pissed me off.  I considered getting a coffee and coming back to deposit 4 more tires but I prefer to chose the hill to die on. 

At $3 per tire I would expect them to take it all.

  A guy has been known to cut his motorcycle tires into 4 pieces and stack them like Russian nesting dolls. They take up much less room in any space where they end up that way. They also don't fill with water.
 A little creative cutting can also make a nice tire swing out of a fat bike tire.

It crossed my mind, I admit.      With all the taxes they collect.

Sometime they do free tire deposits to fight mosquitos, but I.dont think it happened this year.

I would not think so.  My regular mechanic is awesome, we just chitchat while he gets sticker ready.

Expect pissed off French motards taking to the streets to express their displeasure next year.

That doesn't sound good. I don't modify to the extreme but I would hate to have to stay totally stock because of some overbearing rules.

In the Czech Republic a cop can write you a ticket if your tires are not the size the bike came from the factory with - among other things.

Yep, when I took my little Mitsubishi truck to get a Roadworthy Inspection for the transfer of registration from the turd I bought it from it got knocked back, for (amongst many other reasons) the tyres on the aftermarket rims were too wide so I had to go and find some original rims and tyres. Spotty and I took them to a swap meet recently and sold them for $100, which was better than throwing them away.
