That sounds awful mate, I hate going to the dentist, so I don’t. I need a lot of dental work and don’t have to pay for it, but I still don’t want it. Fcuk dentists, and the brooms they rode in on…. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Sorry to hear bailgang...hope and pray it heals properly. Maybe consult a dental surgeon wouldn't be a bad idea...
Dentists can be arrogant and over estimate their ability. I had one who removed my wisdom teeth, broke one into pieces trying to remove it. Healthy teeth are not easy to break... He cause my jaw to be misaligned and my bite to be off as my jaw muscles were sore for a few weeks after the pain from the extraction. He had to remove it in pieces she drill and otherwise to get it all out. I never had a drill in my mouth before that and he didn't realize why I was reacting the way I was until he looked and realization finally dawned on him . Wanna know what his solution was to the bite misalignment was offered? He could grind down the teeth that were not aligning to fix that... I didn't let him do anything and I had tmj like symptoms after that extraction for years and never had any before that. 35-40 years later my jaw will bother me and it will pop a few times and then be ok but there is nothing I can do to cause it to pop and start moving without the pain. Just trying to rotate the lower jaw side to side sometimes helps. It reminds me every time don't necessarily trust people who seem confident in their abilities, sometimes it is arrogance or bravado and has little skill to back it up. When he saw the root was hooking around another tooth he should have referred me to an oral surgeon but he was an arrogant greedy bastard who was prideful and did not admit his limitations. Sometimes dentists go into the profession not because they wish to help people but because it is a high paying job.

Just ranting about life now.
After years of a unhappy relationship ended recently, it's been a absolute manure viewing. Fighting bc my work schedule got changed ( boss told me I'm lowest seniority).
She's made bc I seen someone where they work( a restaurant) even though she's been on several dates including a out of town trip. To top it off all the bikes are on hold. I gave her the 63 Bel-Air project to make money on. Then I'm now living in the one room at my house I'm remodeling that hasn't been tore apart yet. I've got a bedroom stacked full of stuff for the house and a working bathroom. Could be worse I guess but it's definitely aggravating right now.

The Melbourne city council sucks balls. The parking fees have gone up from $1.10 per hour to $4.40 per hour and for a maximum of 3 hours before I need to move my car. (Sensors in the ground that detect movement) Add that to $32 for freeway tolls, plus fuel and food, and it’s costing me around $100 per day to drive to work.

I hate public transport and Uber fees would cost more than driving, so the sooner I start riding to work the better. Better still, the sooner I retire…..;D

For that kind of money, your car should be gassed up and washed when you pick it up.

It must suck to pay $35 a day to drive on a highway that your tax dollars paid for.  >:(

We are fortunate that we don't have toll roads around here. There's a couple of bridges, a tunnel and some "Lexus lanes" (tolled carpool lanes that you can pay to drive solo in). There's also the ferry system that we have to pay to ride.

Well I summoned up the courage to drop the oil pan on my beautiful white BMW for the first time since I had it towed home a couple of weeks ago and found that my oil pickup was completely blocked with some weird sh1t that looks and has the consistency of flakes of paint? Weird.

There was also a little metal in the pan, which I’m hoping came from my oil pump that was obviously running dry for a few miles. I’m pulling the pump after I finish work so I guess I’ll find out. Bugger. ;D

I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

Yep, lesson learned, if your bike has been sitting for years, always drop the oil pan before riding it. ;D

Still can’t work out what the crap was blocking the pickup, I’ve seen fuel varnish in little flakes in carbs, I wonder if oil does the same? About to pull the pump, that’ll be interesting…… ;D

yes, the trailbike will be getting a fairly thorough inspection before starting, its been sitting for well over 10 years now, and a fair chunk of that with the cases open to fresh air, thankfully not much time in the case corroding atmosphere of the dandenongs

The venerable CBX is a machine that benefits from periodic oil pan cleaning. The alternator "clutch" has plates made of (I think) cast iron, and these grind against each other, dropping fine iron particles that sink to the bottom of the oil pan. This creates a thick and highly abrasive paste...

Terry, is there any of that mystery stuff in the bottom of the pan?  If so then I would be worried about it blocking some of the oil passages too. That really sucks.

Thanks guys, the strainer on the BMW is perforated steel and there was none of that poop in the pickup tube, and I just pulled the pump apart and it was clean, but the seal was rock hard and shattered as I was removing it, so I think (but don’t know) that it may have been what I found in the bottom of the pan. Doesn’t explain the little bit of metal I found though, that could have been a bearing shell. Once I’ve cleaned it out and remounted the pump I’ll fill it with oil, install another filter and see if it’s still making a knocking sound. If so, I can remove the plate that covers the crank and inspect the bearings in situ. I can even remove the crank with the engine in the frame. Amazing design. ;D

Ordered a set of tires. Must have shipped from two places. Vendor used two separate couriers (I got free delivery). One came almost overnight but the other is next week. It’s a long Holiday weekend here, so not until next Tuesday! Darn!

This morning I dropped in to my local HomeDepot store. My five year old, $500 Nexgrill needs help. They sell the grills, but parts area is full of “universal” bits, so walked away. Found the parts on line, but after ordering grates, “Heat plates” and burner tubes, just discovered the drip tray bottom is completely rotten too. What junk

Or even worse how about the baby shark song or maybe minah minah? I had read somewhere that some city in California was playing the baby shark song in loop mode in certain areas to disperse homeless people. I'd post a link to both but I'm afraid I'd have everyone one here pissed at me if I did.

What has me pissed at the moment is I'm trying to sell my 72 cb350 twin and dealing with lowballers is really getting under my skin.

Yep, I (obviously….) love buying bikes, but selling bikes sucks. Lately I’ve realised that no-one has any money, but lots of guys have bikes to swap, so recently I swapped two Triumph Rocket III’s (one good, one not so good) for a Ducati and a Yamaha dirt bike. Still not as good as cash in your hand, but if you’re looking to sell it to buy something else, swaps can work in your favour. ;D
