It is what it is, we (my wife and I) used to pay up front for nearly everything and it's becoming a problem. We bought new cars 2 yrs ago and we just give 'em a check now. Prior to that we paid cash for them, in like 2016, the dealer spent more effort verifying that it wasn't drug money than they spent time selling the vehicle to us. They looked at us like we were dinosaurs, and these days, if you're using cash, you are.... My dentist and my PCP love me for it, everybody else, not so much. My wife likes to collect the points to use for airline tickets these days.
Start with the end in mind...

I just slipped under the covers last night and my knee began to ache. Today, it's no better. Ice makes it worse, I thought the pain was going to make me toss my coookies, heat made it swell.
If I had done something dumb to deserve it, I'd understand it a little better. Old age ain't for sissies. I'm going out to the shop, f#$% it. I got a Terazzi shift lever and Suzuki brake rotors to install.
This just in, it's a dose of Gout. Lucky me.

United States Postal Service.  I understand there are a lot of hard working dedicated employees in their system, but apparently none of those individuals' handle any of my mail.  I am waiting on a carb kit I ordered on 12/5, Kentucky to Virginia.  Shipped the same day, today is the 12th of December.  My kit is now in North Carolina processing, two days ago it was in Richmond, fifty miles from my home, why it had to go to North Carolina is truly a mystery.  There I have vented, feel much better.....

Ok just a little update, it has gotten to the point where it is funny.  Carb kit shipped from Kentucky to Virginia, mailed 12/5.  Today is 12/19 and it has still not arrived.  There are 21 entries in the tracking history.  It is now in Chicago Il. and being sent  to the next facility.  It has been in Richmond Va. twice, 50 miles from my home and goes out of State every time.  I spent 40 minutes on the phone waiting to talk to a Postal Rep and finally got through.  A nice Lady from my local PO did call after they opened an inquiry.  She says she did bring up one of the scans of the package and the address is correct, her advice, wait a few more days.  Got an Email Survey this morning from the USPS wanting to know how they did, bad timing on their part.........

Still waiting ?  I know a suspension specialist in Pittsburgh who did lots of work on shocks and set-up a nice front-end for me also;I asked him to wait to ship everything back to me until after Jan. 1st on account of the Holiday Package Traffic.

Just read your posts. Unreal! I recently purchased new MorganTune carb sync tool from a US firm. Followed the USPosttracking info for about two weeks. It was fun to watch!!

My flapper wheel order is going for the record, I printed the tracking and it's amazing.
 Dec 8 walled Lake Mi.
        8 detroit mi.
        9 Champaign Il.
       10 St. Louis
    12-13 Grand Rapids mi.
       13 Gary In.
14 St. Louis, stranded for 5 days
19 Peoria Il. 40 miles away
Dec.20 St. Louis again
21 in transit to next location, arriving late.
23 still in transit from St. Louis.
I kid you not, I'm glad it's not a lifesaving prescription. I skipped a few days where it stayed in the same spot for a while.
I'm in galesburg Il, there is a galesburg Mi so I wonder if that's part of the reason it went from St Louis to Grand Rapids. I thought that's why we have zip codes.
Could there be an unannounced labor protest going on in the postal system? I think they call it quiet quitting. My mail rarely comes during a normal work day, my letter carrier retired and was never replaced. Some days they don't come at all for a day or two and then we get a big stack of letters.

In the past, the only time I would see that crazy tracking, it was caused by the packaging being damaged (and usually the contents too) or illegible address...now?, who knows.  I have my theories, but we have the no politics rule here lol.

Parts I have ordered from eBay USA the last years have also got extra sightseeing travels within the USA before final departure.

I thought it was a lower cost shipping, let the package to next shipper without storage. Like there is a lack of post storage facilities.

Despite the criticism, still a good deal. When I bought the Morgantune the shipping from the manufacturer in England would have been three times what I paid to get it from a distributor in USA (I am in Canada)!

The flapper wheels are still tracking, they usually spend a few days in St. Louis when they go there. I wonder if they get to Union Station?

A Christmas miracle has happened, my flap wheels are out for USPS delivery. From Dec 8 to Dec 24 on a trip that sometimes UPS makes happen next day. Now if only the letter carrier actually gets to run this route today it will arrive. They don't always, I've had the flag up for two days before I delivered a letter downtown myself.
I think it was flap wheel badminton but someone missed the volley and it didn't go back to where it just came from.

I'm a 1/2 mile away from the Post Office here and I don't trust the letter carrier to reach into the 'Mail To Go' box we have in these apartments,so I bring them down to the PO myself  ::)

I finally had my last physical therapy session for my hand which for the most part was a waste of time and had my final appointment with the orthopedic surgeon who said all has healed well. The only issue I still have is what's left of the finger is still a bit hypersensitive, not painful but not comfortable to touch either but that will ease with time or so I'm told. So for now it's a matter of continuing to adapt because missing that much of the index finger really changes your ability to grip. From time to time it does make me sad because I do miss my finger but I don't dwell on it. One of the concerns I had was whether I could safely ride my 750 again because of my altered grip, mainly being able to pull the clutch in but that turns out to not be a problem.

You'll get used to it, and the pain will go away, and soon you won't give it another thought. I lost some of my left ring finger and the worst part for me, more than cutting it off, was the surgery to fold skin under to close it. It was sensitive for a few months and I'd get sharp pains that were kind of like ghost limb, but they stopped. Racking cue balls, eating M&Ms (they fall through the gap) and a few other things took a couple months of getting used to but pretty soon you'll be making jokes ("look how far I can stuff my finger up my nose!") and poking it at people to freak them out. Or at least that was what I did... And I know, index finger is a little more important but I imagine you'll get there.
