Ok, I'm pissed off at my DMV!   My plates expired last week on the K4 and the 550K.
Tried to renew online, no go, thought it was because I run the antique bike plate.
So I take time out of my busy Friday afternoon work schedule (ha!) to go down to the county office.  Pretty busy but not too bad, had to wait about 15 min. 
So the clerk is looking up my registration renewal and says it shows I need a VIN certification...WTF? Told him I never heard of that. Asks is I bought out of state, yes, but I have Texas title and plates now, WTF?!
He's scratching his head, obviously doesn't know what to do. Says he needs to go check with his supervisor and is gone for at least 5 minutes.  Comes back and says I need a VIN check and bring back form I30 or something. WTF?!! Told him I transferred and registered at that office and did it exactly how I was told.  He responds by saying the clerks made a mistake. And says I will have to pay to have the title work redone....WTF?!
Didnt feel like argueing and just wanted to get out of there so just said I was very dissapointed and walked out without my new plates.  I am pissed!

A couple of weeks ago it was #$%*ing whipper snippers, now it is #$%*ing starter motors.  The starter on the missus' little Holden Astra (nissan pulsar with different badges) crapped itself the other day and the car wouldn't start.  She was at work and had a couple of short shifts for the day and then had to do a nightshift after.  On my lunch break I drove the 60 mile round trip to get her going, I gave the starter a gentle tap with a hammer and it has been going great since.  I think it had a stuck brush.  For the last couple of days she has had my car and I've had hers whilst I try to get a new starter. 

Turns out they decided to put a different starter on this particular car to what most others of this model have.  The long and short of it, the starter is no longer available, ok I say to the spare parts guy, can you supply me with a new set of brushes and a new drive so I can overhaul it.  He says a new set of brushes yes, the drives on the other hand are NLA.  Well #$%* me with the rough end of a pineapple!!!

I checked the other two options they had for that model, one had an extra tooth on the starter drive, the other one looked good on paper so I ordered it, tried to put it in this afternoon and the body of the starter is slightly bigger than the other one and it fouls on the block by 2mm  .  Where it fouls is right on an oil gallery so I'm not game to take a grinder to the block to provide clearance.  So I'm pretty much up #$%* creek without a paddle.  I sat down tonight and searched for nearly 2 hours checking every starter in the catalogue and finally found something with all the correct critical measurements.  Only thing is the one that nearly fit only cost $50 the one that might fit is nearly $300 strewth, talk about being pissed off .

Not many of these cars sitting in the wreckers anymore and even less of them have the 1.6L engine.  It was the poverty pack in 1988, but it uses less fuel than my 650 and has generally been extremely reliable, hence why I want to keep it going.  With a starter from the wreckers, there is a fair chance that it won't be much better condition than what I have, after all it is 25 years old.

ridin dirty all the time lately, that gets me semi-pissed. making it hard to ride clean really pisses me off. see you soon with my uninsured out of date plates steady riding super dirty and whatever.

I try to do as much work on my race car myself as possible. I never learned to work on transmissions so that's one thing I hire out. My cousin just took my trans apart to have the case and safety liner re-certified. We took it apart and the liner isn't in there. My regular trans guy is an hour and a half away, I called him and he didn't think this type had a liner and says he never saw one. that means the original builder who I had problems with must have left it out 5 years ago. well F-me 5 years of 180 mph and no safety liner that I paid for and someone left it out. Thank goodness it never let go.

While I'm at it, the guy that charged me 50% over his estimate on my engine rebuild without a good reason, then a rocker let go that they talked me out of replacing and a supposedly new valve spring let go at 30 passes after the last set went 270. (life expectancy is 300) hmm. Well, he can Kiss MA. And the guy that backhalfed my chassis for $5K that needed work after two seasons and failed after 5 seasons. He can too. Fixed it all myself this time. Looks like a pro mod back half now.

True Blue, I used to have a '90 Nissan Pickup(from about 2006-2009).  It was a great little truck...but when it needed parts ...I could barely get the Nissan parts dealership to even admit they had ever made such a thing...I'd usually have to drive around to multiple salvage yards to find what I needed.  The situation got so bad that I started to stockpile driveshafts.  There is still one rusting away in my garage right now...and that pisses me off.

I think the pulsar in US had the same power plant as the sentra which are plentiful still. I've  had my hands on a couple and they were similar.

Well if anyone cares, I'm still alive........... (what? You don't? Well fcuk you!)

Anyway, I'm one state over, doing an Air Force explosive handlers course. Probably about time too, I've been handling all sorts of high explosives for the last 36 years without much in the way of formal training, and I'm just a tad pissed off to think that I've been breaking rules that i didn't even know existed! (which, by the way, is not an excuse if I ever did blow myself or someone esle, up)

I still haven't found the last electrical short on the 'Wang, so I drove my Ford Ranger (company car) up instead, I filled it in Melbourne on Sunday, and am still driving it around after doing close to 600 miles on 80 litres of Diesel. I'm staying in a 4 star hotel and eating on the company dollar at any of the 7 restaurants next door to the hotel, and the only thing that pisses me off is I have to pay 10 bucks for an hour of internet useage, which is almost up, so I'll see you guys later! recently i tried to source some replacement 5.75 inch h4 type headlights,these were commonly fitted to euro cars,and just about any car with four front headlights,so i ring a euro parts place that deals in lots of euro makes and ask if he might have them in cibie or hella,,he asks what model car they are for,i tell him a holden,,he replies all shirty like and states we only deal with euro car parts nothing to fit holdens,,,,what a dumbarse?parts guys that dont know common #$%* piss me off,,i can get them in hella from a truck place anyway,#$%* the euro dickhead!
