  • So, what do ya wanna talk about today?
Same brand of valve springs Don? Does the cam manufacturer recommend those springs? Cheers, Terry. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

"Crazy is a very misunderstood term, it's a fine line that some of us can lean over and still keep our balance" (thanks RB550Four)

Wife insisted I fix the washing machine before doing anything else,
like polish the CB550,
change the oil,
do burnouts at the boottom of the driveway,
etc etc

SO
being the nice faithful, sensitive, caring and responsive husband
whom knows how to fix most anything in the house with duct tape or a large hammer, I agreed.
While fixing washer, a part dropped,
I quickly  shot my hand out to catch it,
and
Sliced a fingerpad/front of middle finger clean off ! :o

No more fingerprint, at all. (will Homeland security pull my CDL license if they find out?)

I pissed, because of her it is now difficult to pull in the brake on the CB550.
And when I do the lever still gets covered with blood.
EEEEEuuuueeewww.  :'(
Wife went out and bought a 2007 honda fit.
My sister-in-law sold it to her for $25/week.
She figured we couldn't afford to fix the Corolla,
as it needs an exhaust system, brake pads/rotors & drums, some really expensive sensors in the engine compartment, the EVAP system needs to be replaced along with a faulty gas pump (around $800+),
and for some reason the mechanic would not pass it with four bald tires. >:(
Besides it is a standard that will hopefully get better gas milage for the wife's 400+ miles/week
commute (includes running around going to tea with her cronnies quite often, hairdresser -28miles one way, etc etc)
peace,
michel

My wife hates dandelions in our lawn but rather than buy proper dandelion killer she found a homebrew dandelion killer recipe on the internet consisting of dawn dish soap, apple cider vinegar and salt. Believe it or not it actually worked and knocked those dandelions dead, problem is that it also killed the grass where ever she sprayed it so now we have brown spots dotting our lawn.  :o

DMV.  They sent out renewal for vehicles 4 month in advance and the cost is pathetic:

one year $28.75
two years: $55.50

so I pay for two years and safe whooping two bucks?  What a stunning marketing trick  :D

I bet that there are many people who will renew ahead of the time because they get notice so early.

I don't see why you are pissed?
Here it costs me 6% x $8,700.00 usd, (they use high blue book value) $522.00
(that's like $50,000.00 aussie dollars , right?)
PLUS $43 for the plates and $50 for inspection of the 2007 honda fit.

VUT next year registration is $43 total, or something like that.

Dave you should get up this way at some point and see the state of the highway, that'll piss you off.  There are potholes everywhere and at times the road surface is that bad that it feels like you are riding a very pissed off bull.  It isn't as bad though as when Captain Bligh was in charge, back then you couldn't go 5 ft without blowing a tyre on a monster pothole.  There was one on the highway that was on my way to work, nearly every day I would see a car there with a blown tyre or two because they had hit it, and if she was good looking I would pull up to help ;D.  It took them nearly a month to get around to putting some gravel in it and another 3 months to get around to actually fixing it.

that's like $50,000.00 aussie dollars , right?
More like $50 ;D

before property tax reform ours used to be around $25 a year for older cars and pick up trucks and around $100.00 for our less than 5 year old pacificia. after property tax reform and the addition of a wheel tax my plates are now over
$1800.00 for 2 work trucks, the kids 2 cars and the wife's car
    250.00 for the 75 cb, 98 zx11
    100.00 for 5X8 bike trailer
2150.00 for registration, I'm sure glad the reformed the property taxes so I could save 200.00 a year

Phone companies piss me off, because our house is a new build and has never had a phone on Telstra wanted over $500 to connect it.  I told them to jam it up their arse, I started shopping around and the best I could find was I-primus and they still want $300 to connect it but their deals are a fair bit better than Telstra.  For an equivelant deal Telstra want an extra $30 per month plus we also got unlimited calls to the UK thrown in so the missus can talk to her family over there whenever she wants ;D.
