It actually comes from an old Buster Keaton film, 'The Boat'. It was sort of an inside joke that the boat was called the Damfino. Someone would ask why he named the boat 'Damfino' and Buster would reply, "Damn if I know" and the person would usually walk away scratching his head. (or in your case, scratching your arse)

In about another week, I'll be moving back to my home state of Illinois after living here in Indiana for the past 10 years. I just thought maybe a change was in order to go with my move.

I'm sure few of you will understand this but Final Cut Pro pisses me off. It is without a doubt the biggest piece of crap ever flung upon the post production world.

I enjoyed FC Pro. I edited up a 5 minute motocross video to the tune of "W.F.O" by Overkill in my Graphic Design course. Got 91%!. Nothing is as much fun on the job though.

No offense but you don't have to use it for a living and you've probably never used Avid. FCP is a prosumer product Avid is professional product..unfortunately Apple has marketed FCP as a professional product up until FCP10, which has been a comercial failure of epic magnitude. Now that Avid has released a software based Media Composer Apples market share has been thankfully shrinking. I mainly edit on Avid Symphony but once in a while I get a misguided client who wants it done on FCP...then I spend hours of needless rendering and exporting to get the same thing done that would have taken far less time on the Avid.

I was in love with Tennille when I was 14 or 15, I bought the album and would play it every night on my parents record player as I drifted off to sleep. I hadn't heard that song for maybe 30 years and it's brought back a lot of great memories. That film clip pisses me off though, the audio is way outta synch, but I can't get too mad, Tennille still looks and sounds as beautiful as ever..........

What pissed me off today was letting someone else down. Ken was supposed to collect his beautiful K1 after it spent several months here as I worked thru Ken's wish list.

I had it all together, got all the electrics working great, installed and timed the Dyna 2000 ignition, everything was sweet until I poured some gas in the freshly painted tank, and turned the fuel tap on.

Fuel pissed out everywhere! Fuel was running out of one of the overflow tubes, out of the airbox, out of one of the breather hoses for Christs sake, there was gas pissing out in all directions. Great. I started pulling off float bowls and swapping out needles and seats, then one of the wire clips that retains the fuel bowl for #3 carb fell off. Fcuking Wonderful.

I challenge anyone to replace that wire clip while the carbs are in place, I gave up trying and rang Ken to tell him it wasn't gonna be ready. Ken was great, no problem, he said he'll pick it up in a couple of weeks which is great, but it still really pissed me off. Tomorrow the carbs are coming off, and I'll thoroughly clean them and install new kits while I'm at it. Cheers, Terry.
