minus 196 or something?a mate of mine used to deliver it to doctors and also did onsite shrink fits like deisel engine sleeves and the like,he also did pipe freezes,he would freeze a water pipe with foam boxes shaped around them so they could be worked on without turning off the water supply,we froze an apple once and threw it,it smashed like a piece of fired clay and made the same sound,we wet some plant leaves and froze them then flicked them with your finger and they smashed like  fine glass, thatll be cold beer man!

We bought a Dewar bottle a couple of years ago.
I think 20 Litres of Liquid Nitrogen is about 100 odd bucks.
Air Liquide sells it here in Darwin.

The boys had to rebush a nose cone and pivots on a D6 and it makes the job easy.
A can of beer dropped into it for about 10 seconds does the job.  ;D

We had a nitrogen bottle being flown out to do salmon dna with.  I think they had to charter a plane or have a freight only flight when flying the thing.  I never thought of it but I think flying out the drum of fuel must have had to come without passengers.  Don't ever remember a fuel drum in the otter.

I'm back! I've been away for most of the week working at a Navy base, sorting out some logistics issues. The company I work for booked me into my favourite local motel, which is pissing distance from a nice pub where they sell Bulmers Cider by the pint, and they do great meals as well, and they even loaned me an umbrella so I didn't get pissed on when I walked back to my room in a torrential downpour, full of beaut tucker and free cider.

I've been farting around with my 450 dollar Subaru's cooling system for the last few weeks, I couldn't bleed the air out of the system, which apparently caused the coolant not to circulate properly, which meant that the coolant in the engine overheated, while the coolant in the radiator stayed cool. I replaced the water pump, the radiator, the thermostat and the radiator cap, and it still fcuking overheated! Fcuk this, I took some (belated) advice from Andrew here and removed the "jiggle pin" from the thermostat, drilled out the hole, and while I was at it, drilled another 4, reinstalled it, and Voila! No more fcuking overheating! Subaru cooling systems piss me off! ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

"Crazy is a very misunderstood term, it's a fine line that some of us can lean over and still keep our balance" (thanks RB550Four)

Thank fcuk ya back mate.
We've been waiting as fast as we can for you to return and trying to stay pissed off in your absence.  ;D

We've been having a Liquid Nitrogen discussion and I reckon that if the Subaru gives you any more lip with the overheating, just whack a couple gallons of this stuff into it's guts and that should be enough to piss it off and stay cool.  ;D
If I was you
I'd be worried about me.

In the shop we had car that was required to lift the front to bleed the cooling system.  The owner, of course, did not give fcuk what the manual said.  :)

We've been having a Liquid Nitrogen discussion and I reckon that if the Subaru gives you any more lip with the overheating, just whack a couple gallons of this stuff into it's guts and that should be enough to piss it off and stay cool.  ;D

Thanks Mick, that liquid nitrogen is good stuff, we had a huge tank of the stuff at the old "Army Engineering Agency" when I was the Quartermaster there back in the late 1990's, but that site was closed down shortly after I left, which is a pity, they had the best engineering workshop I've ever seen with heaps of CNC machines, and I loved working there. We never used liquid nitrogen to cool down tinnies, but the old BCF fire extinguishers used to work very well, "back in the day". ;D

In the shop we had car that was required to lift the front to bleed the cooling system.  The owner, of course, did not give fcuk what the manual said.  :)

One of the recommendations from the Subaru owners website was to raise the front of the car and fill the engine with coolant via the top hose, which I did, but that didn't solve the problem, but drilling a few holes in the flange of the thermostat as Andrew suggested sorted it right out.

I should tell all those experts on the Subaru forums that they can save themselves a lot of hard work jacking up the front of their cars, closing one eye, turning around three times clockwise, standing on one leg etc etc, just by pulling the old Bosch cordless out and perforating that bastard of a thing! Cheers, Terry. ;D

Well after a day of being the resident "Rockoligist" a blokes pissed off with rocks.  ;D
Fcuk they hold some heat and delicate hands know all about it.  ;D

I'm on the home run with the pool now and the next water bills gonna be a rip snorta unless I can find an illegal connection.  ;D
I never said that
.
.
.
.
.
Did I  ;D
The waterfalls a beauty but the waters been running over the edge of the rocks and into the garden so I've had to put some rocks along the edge to redirect it.

Those 2 big buggas go close on 7 ton each.
They're Granite rocks that we "found" at Mt Bundy quarry a few years ago now.

That bottom one was for the missus on her first Mother's Day.
She said that she wanted something hard and big so I said "If you insist"  ;D

We parked the truck on the back lawn with the rock in the back when we got home with it and the dual rears sunk in overnight.
That pissed her off.  ;D

If I was you
I'd be worried about me.

Looks good Mick, I've always maintained that a pool is a hole in the ground that you throw money into, but that's here in Victoria. Uup in Darwin the only body of water I'd be swimming in would be in an in ground pool, I've been "brushed" by a few fresh water crocs around Katherine over the years and that was bad enough, but I've got no intention of sharing space with a salty.

I'm pissed off with KFC right now. I drove up to the drive thru at my local Kentucky Fcuked Chooken, and asked for a "Family Dipping Bucket". The young bloke told me that KFC didn't do them anymore, so I said "OK, I'll have a dozen strips, a couple of large chips, some coleslaw, a bottle of Pepsi (for my son, it tastes like schidt with Chivas) and a couple of different types of dipping sauce. "No worries," he says, "that'll be $36.60".

I went to pay with my card, but he said that his EFTPOS machine wasn't working, so I could pay at the pickup window. I get to the pickup window and this grumpy biatch asks me to go over my entire order again, which I do. I asked her not to forget the sauce (because she did last time) and she gets really schitty with me, so I go, "Whatever", and drive off. I get home and realise that I haven't paid? "Bonus!" So what am I pissed off about? That fcuking biatch short changed me one large chips! I bet she did it on purpose! Fcuking KFC pisses me off! ;D

The ol' boss got in the sh1t with the coppers because of KFC.
He used to live in a flash house at Nightclifff which was just around the corner from the chook joint.

The Nightcliff pub was just across the road and all of the drunken fcuks would come in and get a feed when the pub shut and leave all of the KFC boxes and shook bones on the footpath.

Well Scrim got the sh1ts with this and complained to the management about it.
As usual, fcuk all got done so Scrim collected all of the rubbish in a big green garbage bag until it was full to the brim.

Then come Friday night at the peak hour line up, he barged through the crowd and emptied the bag of maggot ridden sh1t onto the counter.  ;D

One small problem - There was 2 off duty cops in the lineup and they grabbed him.

Long story short, the beak let him off with a warning and the KFC dorks  put some rubbish bins out on the footpath.  ;D
If I was you
I'd be worried about me.

I can understand him being pissed off Mick, there's a Mackers a good 2 klicks from my place, but I often have to pick up Mackers wrappers off my footpath when lazy young poofters just heave 'em out of their car windows. ;D

The Nightcliff Pub was a wild hangout back in the 80's mate.
It used to be called the Dolphin bar and there were drunks, druggos, part time bikies and loose sheilas all over the joint.

There use to be rock n roll bands playing every Sunday evening after the Lims Hotel closed.
It was called the rage in the cage and you could be guaranteed a good punch up there.  ;D

Scrim got pissed off with the music on the Sunday evenings so he'd go over there and mingle in with the crowd.
He'd carry a couple of syringes filled with battery acid and squirt them into the speakers which eventually fcuked 'em.  ;D

There's a lot of funny stories from back in those days.  ;D
If I was you

Good to hear that drilling the holes worked for you Terry, it's an old trick that worked well on the old Clevos too.  Pisses me off a little it took you so long to do it, but I bet not as much as it pissed you off ;D.

Thanks Andrew, and I apologise for not trying it sooner. My problem was that I kept thinking that I shouldn't need to drill the holes if everything else was working correctly, so I kept replacing things until I replaced the entire cooling system, then when that didn't work, I thought about removing the thermostat completely, but then decided against it and drilled the holes instead. I still can't work out why it wasn't working, but as long as it is now, I don't care. Thanks again! Cheers, Terry. ;D

The design of the engine allows an air bubble to form on the engine side of the thermostat and if you don't drill the holes the water can't get to the back of the thermostat to heat up the wax pellet and open it up. ;D

Yep, you're spot on Andrew, whereas previously the bottom hose stayed cool and the top one was hot, as soon as I drilled the holes and installed the thermostat, the bottom hose (which connects directly to the water pump) got hot, and the needle of the temp gauge hasn't moved from the mid point since, no matter how bad the traffic has been in this warmer weather. Thanks again mate, you're the man! ;D

I can't believe that no-one's been pissed off all week, what's going on, has our collective governments been putting anti-depressants in the drinking water again? Well I'm not drinking water tonight (because fishes fcuk in it.........) and I'm pissed off that I don't have a lazy $25K laying around, or else I'd buy this little beauty!

If I'd seen it last night when I was visiting my octagenarian parents in the country I would have smothered them both with my skid-marked undies so I could get my hands on my inheritance before some other fcuker buys this beast! Cheers, Terry. ;D

had to do that on my Civic (my other SOHC4), and even then it didn't get all the air out.  ended up borrowing a special tool from my buddy which is like a percolator that you stick into the radiator.  worked great!
