My wife use to feed her cats on the back deck, and would put more food in the bowl than the cats would eat.
Then, in the middle of the night, the local possum would come and at, and the dog would go bark crazy!  Pissed me off....

That's the ugliest fcuking Possum I've ever seen Steve, are they all that fugly in the US? I think I need to send you some Aussie Possums to breed the ugly outta your bush critters!

This hot weather is pissing me off, I had to drive 200 miles to my parents place to check on my dad yesterday, I got up early and hit the road in my spectacularly impressive 450 buck Subaru and with the addition of 285 bucks worth of aircon servicing, 'twas a pleasant voyage.

Of course, poor old Dad is pissed off that we've put him in a nursing home, so after he gave me a serve and a half for all the things I've done to disappoint him over the years, the trip was starting to lose it's flavour. On top of that, it got to 46 deg C in town apparently (115 deg F) then tried to rain, so got as humid as buggery. My ma had asked me to fix some leaking tap washers last time I was down, so at 8pm I was outside soaking in sweat cutting new seats and being generally pissed off.

I woke up this morning at 6am and just jumped in the little green rocket and was back home by 10am, and apart from watering my wilting plants, I haven't moved from under the cooler vent. It's around 40 deg C (100 deg F) as I type this, but I just flicked over to the weather channel and there's a chance of a hail storm in the next hour or so, WTF? Hail? Surely it'll melt before it bounces off the roof? Fark! ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

We didn't achieve the "hottest city in the world" today as predicted - it was forecast for 46, but only got to 45....pfft, weak as piss.
It's times like this I'm glad I work in an a/c office.

And all this bs about longer hotter summers due to so-called global warming is really pissing me off....how come they say things like "the longest heatwave since 1932" etc etc - wtf, that means it was like this 80 years ago. As a kid (oi, not as far back as that) I can remember days and days in a row well over the old 100degF - fk me, my elephant ice-cream 4th birthday cake melted before my very eyes before I got a chance to blow the candles out - I've never got over that.....and that pisses me off.... ;D

BTW, I'm pissed off that I turn 59 tomorrow - that means in about 2.5hrs I'm entering my 60th year....oh fark  :(

I'm pissed that Terry thinks our possums are ugly!  These are the only type in these here parts, good luck sending one of yours this way.

And not pissed off at the weather here, it's a sunny day and will be 67 degrees.....perfect!

Fark! Look at the fangs on that bugger, it looks like a cross between a pig and a white pointer shark! (they piss me off too, but I don't swim in the ocean, so no biggie, they can eat all the surfers they like)

Well we didn't get any hail, but it pissed down rain so I was running around closing the doors and window of my garage to keep everything dry, and I went arse over on the pavers and landed on my hip, so I'm as sore as buggery, (well, my mate George Bird once told me that nothing hurts like buggery, so maybe not.......) but I'm not gonna be going too far today anyway, definitely not good riding weather if it gets to the predicted 114 deg F today.

Like Pete, I laugh at those "Global Warming Wankers" who tell us that the heat wave this week is all caused by Global warming, when my dad tells me about how hot it was in 1939 when he was fighting the bushfires, when houses miles away from the firefront were just exploding because of the heat. I didn't hear anything from those GWW's when we had the coldest December on record, but this week they're all taking advantage of the hot weather to push their financial agenda's.......... I've gotta think of some natural phenomenon to exaggerate out of proportion to gain some financial advantage and jump on the old government funded bandwagon........

Oh, and I have to buy a new Coffee machine today. Nothing fancy, but my old Aldi "Pod" machine fcuked up yesterday so I'm off to Aldi to buy their new improved model before the sun turns me into ash. I can't go a day without a decent cup of coffee, so I have to brave the heat or I'll be having beer for breakfast. Washing down my Sultana Bran with beer pisses me off.......... ;D

Yeah mate, when I was a kid we had a pet Possum, was a cute bugger, Dad saved it from certain death when it got into the crockery department of the store he worked in, and when some staff members chased it and it broke some plates, my dad bagged it and brought it home.

We had an empty bird aviary where it lived for awhile, but it was lonely, so he took it out to the bush and let it go so it could hang out with it's Possum mates.

I had one of those drip machines and it was OK, but the constantly re-heated coffee tasted like arse sweat after an hour or so. Call me a woose, but I like good coffee. ;D

I've gotta think of some natural phenomenon to exaggerate out of proportion to gain some financial advantage and jump on the old government funded bandwagon........

Global warming went out a few years back, climate change is the correct heading, It includes both extremes in heat and cold. I think the "wankers" are the ones that aren't bright enough to do some research and find out that the norm now is that   heat records are now happening three times more often than cold records, and that the number of hot days across Australia has "more than doubled". The duration of heat waves are longer and they are starting earlier in the season than ever before,. The number of heat records that are now broken has increased at an alarming rate in the last 10-15 years, records used to be broken occasionally since we started recording the weather, Last year in the first 4 months of the year 120 climate records were broken, most related to heat, we are on track to blow that away this year. Records have never been broken with the speed and regularity at which they are occurring now. Whilst I agree someone somewhere will be looking at this for financial gain, thats the way people work and shouldn't be too surprising, but to simply dismiss these rapidly occurring records as " a conspiracy " is plain ridiculous and as far as business is concerned its financial suicide to simply ignore it, there is far to much data to dismiss it. The funny thing for me is that when looking comprehensively at whats going on around the world, one thing is for sure and that is that climate is changing or getting more extreme, ice is melting at record rates and crops are now being grown in area's that haven't seen agriculture ever, now whether we have contributed to that and by how much is still open to conjecture but things are changing, you can't argue with the facts..... Funnily enough there have been a couple of well known sceptics in the US that were funded by Prominent funders of the Tea Party to completely debunk Climate change, after doing their own comprehensive studies they changed sides and agree with the large majority of scientists world wide that the climate is changing, weather patterns are changing, massive sea ice melts are occurring and it will get worse....

+1,

North American possums can be nasty buggers when cornered. When I was a kid a cousin of mine and I shot one out of a tree, it proceeded to absolutely whoop the 2 hunting dogs we had even though it had a .22 bullet in it.

i have a funny suger glider possom story that needs sharing, many moons ago i knocked down a big old dead gum tree,   out from the trunk came a little possom,   anyway i picked it up and thought it was a cute little fella,,  the bloke i was working with came over so i handed it to him,,  things went bad and happened in the blink of an eye.. It bounced from his hand to his face where it stretched itself out over his face, the top claws latched onto  both his eyelids and the bottom claws under his chin. I couldn't stop laughing as he would remove one claw, then another, almost have it off then it would re-attach itself, i had to offer him assistance to get it off, it reminded me of that movie alien when attached to there face,. As it was a scorcher the persperating was making all his scratches sting and thinned out his blood so he was all bloodied,.  The mans name was Bob, very religous and had never heard him swear..  Once he had it safely by the scruff of the neck, he looked at it and said  "Fcuk i hate possoms and then frisbeed it away.  heres what the little fellas look like,, very cute

Yeah they are cute little buggers Ken, lots of Possums are dropping dead at the moment due to the heat, so are birds, so we're putting extra water out for the poor buggers, hopefully the cats won't take advantage of our kindness, they only kill 'em for fun, they don't each much of them, and still expect us to feed 'em expensive bloody cat tucker.

How'd you go with the turkey who drove into you and your FJ1200? Is he going to pay for the repairs? Cheers, Terry. ;D

They may be cute, but don't corner one.  They can get quite nasty.  One fella I work with knocked down a tree a few weeks back, there was
a possum in it, he didn't realise.  Anyway the tree no sooner hit the ground and the possum was trying to climb his leg.  In the end he ended up with
claw marks all over his legs and one pissed off possum in the tree beside him.

I like Possums. When I worked as the "Emergency Response Operator" for the Melbourne City Council in 2007 (long story, but great gig while it lasted) one of my tasks was to pick up dead animals around the city of Melbourne. I had all the necessary protective gear, and once I had the poor ex critter bagged up, I'd drop it in the back of my Toyota ute and take it to the tip.

I don't know what the company I worked for charged the council, but I got paid 4 bucks on top of my normal pay for any critter I collected. It was kind of an "Honour System", so I just told them that I'd picked up a few dead animals (mostly Possums, Cats, Seagulls etc) each week, and that'd pay for my cigarettes for the week. I wish I was still doing it........... ;D

It comes with a disc brake as well (No ABS unfortunately  ;D)

All it needs now is a Bullbar, Spot Lights and a ROPS and then there's absolutely no excuse for not drinking and driving.  ;D
It pisses me off that I haven't got one right now.  ;D
