It is amazing how much you can talk about politics if you pretend you are not talking about poitics.  I would much rather see people working and creating jobs than the worthless scum that suck from the teet of humanity for their entire life.

These worthless scum you just described are bankers, investors and vulture capitalists, probably have not worked an honest day of work in their lives.

  Some 1%ers are job creators, Steve Jobs and Bill Gates would be two that come to mind easy but for everyone of those you have the ones that shuffle paper around using exotic "financial engineering" to suck the wealth out of vulnerable companies.  Use the target company itself as collateral to finance the purchase and then collect huge management fees.  The company now loaded down with debt has to cut wages, layoff workers, slash or loot pensions, ship jobs overseas, etc to save costs.  This is sold to us as making the company more competitive and creating jobs.  It's a lot harder to wrap your mind around this as it is so multi-layered and complex but they have done a masterful job in blurring the truth.  Far easier to blame the poor guy across the street or the unemployed guy as they are right there.  Might help even more if they don't share your Anglo-Saxon heritage as it was put by a recent prominent visitor to the U.K.

From a purely economic standpoint (emotion aside) unemployment comp, food stamps, certain benefits to the middle class, etc are pure economic stimulus.  The money is immediately spent on goods and services and not stashed away in exotic offshore investments.  It can be argued that X amount of benefits to the poor and middle class have a greater economic  impact than X amount of tax cuts for the wealthy.  It's an argument that needs to be talked about as the usual formula is to slash these benefits to pay for tax cuts for the rich.

The IRS estimates that 5 trillion is held in offshore tax havens by the 1%ers. In many ways they have used the public infrastructure of the country to help create this wealth.   Who is the leech?  Who makes up the difference?

I would worry more about the 1%ers who are looting your pension, profiting from shipping your job overseas, rigging the stock market so you lose, driving down your wages, trying to wreck Social Security, etc, etc, etc.  Wall Street vulture capitalists are a lot more dangerous to your pocketbook than some poor person across the street smoking a cig.  He's not the one that wrecked the economy and turned our banking system/Wall Street  into a casino by playing fast and loose with other peoples money.  He's not the one who keeps his money in offshore tax havens so you have to make up the difference.   Let's just keep the middle class at war with the poor to keep their eyes off the real culprits.  That's what pisses me off.

What really pisses me off is the "Me" generation of folks who by virtue of their birth year, have had a cushy time of their lives.  Generalizing of course......This generation of people who are now close to retirement or retired has lived during a time where all they needed to do was show up for work and they made decent money.  They were LUCKY, not clever or hard-working.  Furthermore, they bought houses in the 60's and 70's for around 1 years salary.....Now selling for a huge profit where folks in my generation need to spend 3-4 yrs salary to buy the same house....

On top of hitting us with a financial juggernaut (spell checked that one), they are the same generation who insists on beefing up the EPA (killing jobs) and the same folks who insist we raise our kids differently than they raised us.  Of course Mom has to work now to afford the house, so daycares are exploding.....There were no day cares when I was a kid!  -  OK, I'm done....guess I am just a whiner

    Yeah you had it bad......at the same age as when you were wearing big hair and spandex many in the "me generation" were facing a military draft or already over in Vietnam (except for Mitt he was in France).  Don't know what your beef with the EPA is.  Of course you are to young to remember smog covered cities, dead Lake Erie, polluted rivers catching fire, sewage and chemicals being dumped directly into our waterways, litter strewn highways, DDT and lead all over the environment, Love Canal, etc, etc.  You can thank the Me Generation for the clean air you breath and the clean water you drink and play in.
    This member of that generation payed 2.5 times my salary for my house 30 years ago.  Looking even further back my parents payed a similar percentage.  Maybe you need to look at the economic policies of the country over the last 30 years to see if that is the real problem and not some old retiring ex hippies.

Wow. I agree mate, but you're not just any whiner, you're the king of whiners! Considering that you're only 20 years behind the group that you're whining about, what have you experienced that's been so much harder than the "Baby Boom" generation that you've attacked? but at the same time, they respond to the threads that I start because the title may have struck a nerve within them.  I know some of you guys hate misspelled words, but you have to realize I take this forum as a form of entertainment and so far mild help with my motorcycle.  Some of the advice I have received from this site has turned out to be absolute bull #$%* and do you think this is the only site I use to get my motorcycle running right?  But there are some I have highly regards to on this site for instance: HONDAMAN, TWOTIRED and the guy who used to work at the Honda shop a few years ago and I can't think of his name, but those are the guys who I pay attention to.  If I offended any of you guys mentioned above, please let me apologize.  But as far as the rest of you guys who just throw #$%* to the wind, as far as advice, I read that too.  But again, I see this site as a form of entertainment.  So if I misspelled any words, you spelling Nazi's Stick it!!
