Ha ha, did I mention that he's going to drive down to deliver the K1 and pick up the BMW Mick? I should throw that set of ceriani forks in his trailer and save you a few bucks while I'm at it! ;D

sounds exactly right to me, Terry of the slightly garbled and loosely interpreted history, I'm not pissed about that...I'm pissed that Honda finally decides to send us an understyled, mediocre performing, retro  styled, naked, std....and the forum goes so nuts over posts on it that the mods are probably gonna have to start a new section

I'm pissed off that Terry has his history all muddled up. ;)  William Dampier was the first Englishman to see Australia in 1699 when he explored the northwest coast.  But even he was not the first.  Dutch explorers had been arriving since the early 1600's, the best known being Abel Tasman in 1644.  James Cook in 1770 was a relative latecomer but because he left a bunch of junk behind after he crashed his ship into a hard pointy part he gets credit for being the first (but not the last) to bring "white trash" to Australia. ;D   

But then the aborigines had already been there 30,000 years so all these guys were just posers. ;D

Dutch and Portuguese explorers had been visiting Australia since the early 1500's,  in the early 1600's, Dirk Hartog and Willem Jansz were the earliest that are recorded to have reached Australia, Hartog left an inscribed pewter plate on a small island off the West Australian Coast.. Abel Tasman never made land and only sighted Tasmania on his way to New Zealand that was in 1642, he made a return trip in 1644.... Also the mutiny on the Batavia happened in 1629 and survivors also landed in Australian territory and reached the mainland searching for water before being almost systematically wiped  out by some of the mutineers, the survivors were eventually rescued and some put to death for their crimes.....  I'm pissed off you didn't know this Steve.... 8)

I'm pissed off that Steve quickly jumped on google, then, pretending that he knew what he was talking about, corrected me regarding Australia's history. Everyone here who's ever been to school knows about Dampier and Tasman, but Cook is still considered by most historians as the discoverer of Oz.

Same as everyone knows that Columbus wasn't the first foreigner to visit America, but who cares? I couldn't be bothered googling something just to pretend I know more than I do. Only a poser would do that............  ;)

hehe   I did a number of projects in school about our earliest explorers, myself and a couple of school mates found the earliest cemetery in Queensland and stopped a housing development....Thats my claim to fame, surely that will piss someone off. {apart from the developers  :P}
