Terry, hence my reference to hypocrisy...........it's hard to have any respect for an organisation, whether it be religious or political - and it seems mostly religious - that have leaders that stand back and do nothing other than ship the monsters to a different area, or a different portfolio, and not bring them to justice in case it "damages their brand"....how do these gutless self interested and self righteous morons sleep at night, knowing that those under their control have caused such grief and hurt. How can any member of the public respect them for that....yet the followers blindly carry on also turning a blind eye to what has gone on, and still hail their leaders as almighty and pure and preachers of good....what a load of fkn sh*t.
I went to a church school....never saw any sexual abuse as such....but the whole experience turned me off religion....I could see the hypocrisy even at a very young age.....to address such sins and evil wrongdoings and death and suffering in the world as "it's god's way" has never sat very well with me. >:(
Now I am REALLY pissed off.

After listening to you guys I'm back at the slow burn stage coming up on nicely going, I agree that in any organization that has power has the room for abuse, but any claim of moral/ethical superiority is gone unless those at the top weed out the creatures aggressively,  for the last 50 years or so my thoughts have been going towards politicians/ priests/gurus of all sorts are simply playing into the need for some people to be lead, to provide themselves with a parasites niche and now because they have been successful in the past they've multiplied to our present stage with new one coming on board every minute. I guess that comment defines me as an outsider looking in, at 73/4 I'm good with that and those who are not go #$%* yoursel.

few recommendations for our new "SOHC/4 Pope" from down under. Guess you need a new Papamobile.
maybe the former pope will be pissed off if he see it.

I'm not pissed at all but I know someone who probably will be or at least be very stunned when he gets home and that's my youngest son. At the moment he's in Illinois hanging out with an older bro and a nephew of mine but in the mean time in the mail comes a package with brand new hand grips for his cbr600 so on the way home from work today I stopped at walmart and nabbed a cheap pair of bicycle hand grips and a handle bar horn. I wanted tassles for the hand grips but they didn't have any in stock. Then as I was walking out of the bicycle aisle I noticed some mini license plates and thought the "2cool4u" plate would be the perfect finishing touch. So the plan is to pull his new whiz bang crotch rocket grips you see on the left in the pic out of the box, replace with the cheap bike grips, horn (purple one for that matter) and mini licenses plate, tape box back and pretend nothing happened. I'm just so mean to my kids. :)

Our kids know us too well so the first thing the youngest will do if we're not home is text both my wife and I wanting to know where his grips are at and worst case scenario I may come home and find my 550 "accessorized"  :o

smart cops piss me off...dumb ones make me happy ;D :D ;) :)
.........

I had a dumb cop that was running a roadblock in his little no longer existant township. Basicly he  made revenue pulling over anyone for no reason if they crossed through his jurisdiction.  Different speed limits on opposite sides of the road, etc. I had a suspended license and was pulled over for not dimming my lights for the cop hiding 1/4 mile up the road with his lights off.

He went rooting through my van like a pig after truffles, and came back to the squad car.  Said he was going to be easy on me if I was honest with him. Then he said "Tell me where the gun is."

I was confused, but I guess the boxes I had from helping a friend clean out his garage had a .410 shell or two and he was going to find a gun if it took all night.

I later argued the case, citing the drivers's manual and showing maps of his townships streetlights burnt out (he said he pulled me over for failure to dim my lights with no one around) and I argued probable cause and attacked his report with photos showing his inaccuracies. Gave it my all.

I remember being so prepared and saw the judge I knew as a cranky old codger and then thinking this old bastard, oh well I'm ready. He must have thought -driving whiles suspended,   either an idiot or I'm going to see a good argument.

The judge threw it out because the prosecutor said she would have a witness from the state testify that my license was suspended (6th amendment right to face accuser). I argued probable cause well, and I figure my efforts outshined the prosecutor who failed to produce her witness.  I heard the judge mumbling under his breath "vague vague vaguer" as he gavelled out dismissing.

Anyway, what pissed me off was receiving mail for months and years later as the prosecutor padded her hours  appealing a $100 ticket to the supreme court of the state not once but twice.  It must  have really  hurt her ego to go through all that school and get spanked in front of the judge.

Now I am REALLY pissed off.

G'Day Pete, sorry I didn't reply earlier, I've been away for the last few days working in the country, and haven't had much in the way of internet access.

While I agree that the actions of a tiny minority of the Catholic church (the second largest religion, and the largest Christian religion in the world) have damaged the "Brand", I certainly don't think that all Catholics are "Blindly following" anyone, but are in fact demanding that the perpetrators be brought to justice, and the church is taking notice.

An organisation as large as the catholic church is an unweildy beast and the action that is being taken is seen by many (in the media especially) as being too little, too late, but the church knows that this won't go away, and providing that the pressure from both without and within is maintained, these monsters will be brought to account.

I know that it's easy to scoff, but I also know that the church realises that if they don't do anything they will lose their followers who are already dwindling due to the 21st Century "Anti Everything" apathy that pervades society. (that I'm obviously guilty of too, and that pisses me off...............) ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Terry, I didn't mean that ALL Catholics blindly follow, perhaps what I should have said is the blind followers blindly follow.....I have met those that do still think the matters in question never happened or have been overplayed by the media....it is that which infuriates me....these are the blind I refer to. Heads in the sand. Hypocrites. I have also met some RC's who are horrified by it, and then some that won't have an opinion either way. Yet the followers, blind or not, flock off to church each week praising the almighty and hanging on every word their preacher delivers, singing praises and lauding the good in the world, never bemoaning the evils that lie within.......hypocrisy at its best.
Nothing can excuse any leader in the community abusing the trust that has been put in them, particularly when 'of the cloth', and I don't understand how some people can't see it or stick their head in the sand over it. It just pisses me off.

Hmmnnn, well I'm a tad concerned that while you agree with me that not all catholics are blind followers, you then go on to say "Yet the followers, blind or not, flock off to church each week praising the almighty and hanging on every word their preacher delivers, singing praises and lauding the good in the world, never bemoaning the evils that lie within.......hypocrisy at its best."

While I don't go to church, (because I'm really not that interested) my folks do, and I don't think they're hypocrites Pete, they're just as pissed off that: 1. There are Pedophiles in the Church, and 2. ALL Catholics have been tarred with the same brush by people who don't know, or just don't care that this is not true. They don't hang off every word the "Preacher" delivers, but they do go there to praise the "Almighty", (as they have for the last 86 years) which they did long before all of these stories about Pedo's broke.

What would you have them do mate, wait until all the Pedo's have been prosecuted before they go back to church? And then they won't be hypocrites? Hmmnnn, problem is, I'm not expecting them to live that much longer, and hypocrites or not, they enjoy going to church, and I can't see why it'd be necessary to deny them this fairly innocent activity, just because of the crimes of a tiny percentage of Catholic priests? (not in their Church, or even in their town, and to my knowledge, there never has been)

Anyway, I'm sure there are other things that we can be pissed off about Pete, like the weather, or the fact that my 'Wang keeps eating fuses and I can't find a short? Cheers, Terry. ;D

Yeh, I'm not saying my argument is rock solid, and I do get a bit incensed and therefore a bit carried away, wouldn't be the first time. I hear what you're saying, you are always such a clear thinker and so logical, I just hate what has happened to so many people who had put their faith in adults who were 'chosen' by the almighty to represent him (her?), and thus serve their community and teach and practise all things good. It pisses me off.

I'm also pissed off you won't be at the rally....205 Jap bikes is going to be a damn good sight....hoping for good weather - if it rains, that will PISS ME OFF. Maybe all my public disdain for the church will finally work against me, and we'll be hit with storms and rain as my punishment, hahaha.
Keep smiling.  ;D

Hey Terry, the best trick I have come across for tracing a short is replace the fuse with a bulb, a festoon bulb will drop into glass fuse holders ;).  When the light is glowing bright the short is active if it dulls off or goes out then the short isn't active.  If there is a large enough load on the circuit then the light will glow bright so for this to work you need to remove as much load as possible ;D.

Thanks Pete, I'm annoyed that the 'Wang hasn't done a "Christine" (Have you seen that movie?) and fixed itself yet, but I just can't take the risk that something will crap out between here and Victor Harbor, (I suspect that there's a cooling system problem to overcome now as well, boohoo) it'd be a bugger to push!

Anyway, I hope the rain stays away and the rally's a success, the guys over on the CX500/650 site are really excited about it, I thought about riding mine too, but then I realised that was about the stupidist idea I ever had, ha ha! Cheers, Terry. ;D

Thats a nice prank - let us know how it developed when he got home :)

He had already gotten home right before I got home from work today and was already in the garage putting the new grips on. I non nonchalantly walked up to his bike and said "Where did these grips come from? I thought the other ones were cooler". He kind of knew something was up when he noticed the box had been retaped. My wife said he pulled the horn out then looked at the bike grips, then looked at them again some more and finally said "OK were's my new grips at"

Wellfare. Don't get me wrong, I like helping people that need help but we need serious reform when (being a cop) I show up to someone's apartment, which is free, filled with new furniture, a huge HDTV, Xbox, place is otherwise trashed but their ten pairs of spotless shoes are lined up perfectly next to the mattress on the floor with no sheets they call a bed. And oh yeah the stairways smell like a porta potty. Then on the first and fifteenth they go to price chopper and spend all the money on their ebt card on steaks, lobster and shrimp. Finally, I ask their disability and they proudly say they have ADHD and can't work.
