Wellfare. Don't get me wrong, I like helping people that need help but we need serious reform when (being a cop) I show up to someone's apartment, which is free, filled with new furniture, a huge HDTV, Xbox, place is otherwise trashed but their ten pairs of spotless shoes are lined up perfectly next to the mattress on the floor with no sheets they call a bed. And oh yeah the stairways smell like a porta potty. Then on the first and fifteenth they go to price chopper and spend all the money on their ebt card on steaks, lobster and shrimp. Finally, I ask their disability and they proudly say they have ADHD and can't work.

Interesting, friends of mine have a 24 year old son that i have known all his life, he has ADHD, i could never see him holding down any job at all and he would be a serious risk in most, if not all work places.  My point is that there are real cases, and yes, there are scammers, but  it would take a little more than a 5 minute visit to make a diagnosis... ;)

Well, using Trueblue's "globe" method, (thanks mate) I sucessfully found the short on the 'Wang tonight, in 90 degree weather again. (this is fcuked, when are we gonna get some cooler temps? Fcuk, I'm even starting to believe in that global warming horse schidt)

So if I've fixed it, and the lights are all working and it's not blowing fuses, so I should be happy, right? No fcuking way sunshine, because there's still a lit light on the fcuking dashboard (hey, it is a two wheeled car, after all) that says "Tail Light" which is supposed to warn me that my tail light is out? And it's not?

Fcuk this, I think I'll pull the globe outta the dash and take my chances! Cheers, Terry. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Terry, just to piss you off some more, that tail light warning light is probably another short ;D.  Glad the bulb trick worked for you, it is the best way I have found to track a short.

Thanks mate, and no, it's just one of the old fashioned light globes. TB's probably right, it probably is another short, I suspected as much last night but the heat forced me inside. I'll check it out again later. Cheers, Terry. ;D

Yep, I've been outside flushing the cooling system on my 'Wang Pete, I scalded my poor mitt when I removed the drain plug, then when I ran off to the tap to run some cold water over it, my thong ("flip flop" for my Seppo mates) fell off and I burned my fcuking foot on the hot concrete driveway. Fcuk that pisses me off! ;D

Been detailing the 3 bikes (and changed oil/filter on 400) ready for next weekend - man it's hot in my garage. So I pack up, sweating like a pig, grumpy with the world, and go out the back and there's a friggin cool breeze blowing off the sea that you couldn't feel in the garage........now that has pissed me off!!

So good of Terry to explain the language difference.

If my thong was to fall off, then I'd burn my wang on the hot driveway and that would piss me off.

Terry, you're letting us Aussie's down, any Aussie should be able to run in thongs without spilling their beer.  Also it sounds like you didn't even have your beer with you, which pisses me off, because if you did you wouldn't have had to run to a tap, just pull the cold bottle out of the cooler and apply it to burned area.  ;D

Mick,  I have a barn full of stuff but most of it is large prohibiting shipping down under.   Sold my K0 yesterday, still have 4 750s, 400f, Silverwing, Sabre, xl125, CZ and probably enough parts to make another 750 and another 400f...Have a great day...Larry

I was just curious, it sucks that yo keep getting screwed around. I would have paid close to a quarter to a third of all my parts in shipping costs but its still cheaper than buying stuff here....    You have a great day too bud.. ;)

I had a #$%* of a time flushing my cooling system on the 'Wang yesterday, not because it's a difficult task, but because Honda's "Faux Tank" design makes it impossible to remove the radiator cap without first removing the above mentioned panel, which entails removing one fairing pocket, both sidecovers and a couple of little rubber panels around the front forks.

While I had all that crap off, I decided to remove the threaded fork caps to add more fork oil. (When I rebuilt the forks I didn't have a manual so I guessed 200 ml, but it should have been 340 ml) I put the bike up on the stand and took all the weight off the forks, unscrewed the cap, and, 'TWANG!" out shoots the cap, a short spring and a washer. OK, I know that the spring was Honda's cheapo attempt at Progressive springs, it's wound at a different rate than the longer fork spring below it.

Anyway, I cleaned all the bits and poured in another 140 ml of oil, then attempted to compress the spring while trying to turn the socket wrench. Do you reckon I could do it? No fcuking way Jose! Holy fcuking hell, I've seen bullworkers with lighter springs, what the fcuk was Honda thinking??

The wife came out to see if I was OK, so I asked her (well "told" actually, I was in a schidt mood by now) to give me a hand, but she was of no use, which I mistakenly told her, so she stormed off while I continued to curse God for all the terrible things that have happened to me over my life, from my mum dropping me off at Kindergarten when I was four, then she drove off without realising that Kindy was closed for the day, so I had to walk home, to dropping my shiny new CB750F when I hit the back brake too hard to avoid a chick in a Valiant who didn't give way, to seeing the Labour Party steal the last federal election, man, I was seething with sweaty rage!

I decided that God had discretely deserted me  and the air was so blue around me I started to feel a bit like a knob, so I took a different tack. I hopped on the old lathe and machined up an adapter that fit inside the cap at one end, and inside the spring at the other, with a flange that separated the two, (or otherwise it'd just fall down the inside of the spring) so the threaded cap didn't slide off the top of the spring, as it had been doing when tried to compress the spring.

By doing this, it also acts as a guide which helped align the threaded cap when I tried again. While better, I was still struggling until I realised that I needed to use my weight, not my arm strength alone. I shoved a piece of thick upholstery foam into my armpit, then put the handle of my "Speed Wrench" into my foamy, sweaty pit, then leaned into the forks, using my (not inconsiderable) weight to compress the spring whilst I turned the handle. Surprisingly, it worked first time!

By this stage, it was 9pm, I was a big sweaty heap, I needed to apologise to the wife (it's my birthday today, so I didn't want to miss out on all of my well deserved presents.....) and get into the shower. It's even hotter today then it was yesterday and I haven't even attempted to remove the second cap yet. I think I'll leave it until next weekend, it's too hot to do much today anyway, and that pisses me off............ ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

Terry, use  a sliding T handle with a ratcheting adapter, it enables you to use both arms for leverage to push the cap down...Larry
