Years ago, the year I got out of the airforce I couldn't find a job in Vancouver so I stupidly took a job selling encyclopedia's up north essentially up the Alaskan Highway to a little farther north than Whitehorse in the Yukon (interesting interesting) any how one the way back we stopped at a little town (a gas station/general store/post office,,,,,,) to talk the Mounties that were the Queens justice around there policing an area of around 500 sq miles. Two Mounties for the whole area anyhow we talked for a few minutes and I'm saying to myself this looks like a fiddle, maybe I should think about it and then the phone rings and the corporal i/c answers it and say OK I'll have some one there in a minute or so, looks at the constable and says old so & so is at it again he's pissed up on shaving lotion and chasing people around with an axe so off you go and the constable says aw come on corp not again to which the corporal says I went last time and I'm the senior here (two man cop shop) so I asks does it happen often and am told about once a week, the travelling judge usually doesn't send this particular gent off to the crow bar hotel every time so it's a crap shoot also so when the reserve gets their cheques, some time everyone goes crazy and it's even more fun, about then I decided that I never wanted to be a cop.

Whilst i agree that being polite is the right thing to do, not being polite is NOT against the law, the Police are supposed to remain impartial , not carry on like dipsh1ts and DEMAND respect, when i grew up respect was earned ....

everything is pissing me off right now. sights, sounds smells. My head is in a tizzy. Nothing is happening. Everything I touch is turning into poo and making my chest hurt. I feel guilty for spending money and for not being home to tuck my daughter into bed. It pisses me off that I am getting older and my body keeps reminding me. I cant control it. I am the brain. What is becoming of this world? I dont want to be an old man. I dont want to have cancer. I dont want to have a stroke. I dont want my wife to care for me and not do the things she loves. I dont want to take the dogs for a walk and pick up their sh!t. I dont want to feel guilt.

Guilt pisses me off.....and time is its fickle mistress with a dried up kooch.

I was riding my CB750K1 with it's loud drag pipes one sunny morning a couple of years ago. I rode into a servo (Gas Station) and a scooter guy pulled in beside me. Being the polite chap that I am, I said, "G'Day Mate!" But he just ignored me and walked straight past. Fair enough, i was only being nice to him to save him any embarrassment from riding a POS Poofter girls bike, but if he doesn't wanna be polite to me, then fair enough, up his arse.

We both exited the servo together, and as we crossed an intersection, a motorbike cop who was about to pull into another servo, heard my 750 roaring past and decided to come over and investigate. He pulled me over, told me to wait there, then went after Mr Scooter Man. I'm sitting there #$%*ting myself, as I may have "forgotten" to register this bike, it was very loud, was a tad unroadworthy, and my license address didn't quite match my actual address. Ooops............

I looked up, and Scooter pants is going off tap. He's gesticulating, waving his arms around, and stabbing his index finger at the cop. The cop says something to him, then walks back to me. I say "G'day Mate", and he say's "G'Day", then he proceeds to tell me that Scooter Git is going off his brain, claiming "Police Brutality", says the cop is trampling all over his civil rights, picking on him for no good reason, blah blah blah. I say, "Yeah, he's a rude prick too, I said G'Day to him at the servo and he totally ignored me!"

The cop says "Right, well I'm gonna go back and show him a bit of "Police Brutality", so you better bugger off, and thanks for waiting" I say "No worries mate, have a good day" and off I rode, happy in the knowledge that once again, the world was in balance, and if I ever meet Scooter biitch again, I probably owe him a beer...............

Now I have to admit, I don't mind scooters. I taught myself to ride on my sisters' C50 when I was 8, and bought my first "bike" which was a Yamaha Omaha 80 scooter that I paid the princely sum of 5 bucks for, when I was 9.

I eventually swapped the engine into a Gemini Minibike frame and sold it as a runner for 35 bucks when I was 10. Hmmnnn, the more I think about it, I think I missed my calling, I should have been a bike salesman..........

Anyhoo, I do like scooters, but I don't like a lot of scooter riders, because they don't think of themselves as motorcyclists, and often give us a bad name, by association.

When I lived in Brisbane, tourists would hire scooters at Surfers Paradise or Noosa and ride around like fcukwits, usually pissed, and fall off and do a bit of damage to themselves because they were usually only wearing beach clothes when they came off.

Here in Melbourne, many of the "Scooteristi" are just tools who think scooters are a fashion item, or disgruntled car drivers who've seen bikers riding around traffic jams, and think they can do that on an underpowered scooter, with the absolute minimum of experience or skill. Or they're women.

Women are dangerous enough in cars, and shouldn't be allowed near a scooter, if you look up "Accident waiting to Happen" in the dictionary, there'll be a picture of a woman on a scooter, resplendant in a pudding basin helmet, a sleeveless top, and knickerbockers. Cheers, Terry.
