I try to do as much work on my race car myself as possible. I never learned to work on transmissions so that's one thing I hire out. My cousin just took my trans apart to have the case and safety liner re-certified. We took it apart and the liner isn't in there. My regular trans guy is an hour and a half away, I called him and he didn't think this type had a liner and says he never saw one. that means the original builder who I had problems with must have left it out 5 years ago. well F-me 5 years of 180 mph and no safety liner that I paid for and someone left it out. Thank goodness it never let go.

What is a safety liner in transmission?

I'm staying in a 4 star hotel and eating on the company dollar at any of the 7 restaurants next door to the hotel, and the only thing that pisses me off is I have to pay 10 bucks for an hour of internet useage, which is almost up, so I'll see you guys later! Cheers, Terry.

Over a week ago I ordered a set of rubber seals/cushions for the fork ears on my newly acquired 77 750f and I was wanting those seals asap because I couldn't put the top of the triple tree or the headlight bucket together without them. According to their website my order still hadn't even left their warehouse so I got impatient last night and picked up a decent used set from ebay. Guess what was in the mail when I got home today? Oh well you never know when an extra set of fork ear cushions will come in handy.

I'm back! After biting the bullet I've just agreed to pay 99 bucks for a weeks worth of internet access, which will be charged to my room. ("Executive Suite" in the hotel brochure)

I'm not sure if I'll have to cough up the dough, or whether the company I work for will, but if I have to, I'll just drink an extra couple of beers with my dinner each night to make up for it, ha ha!

4 star hotel charging for 'net access? Yeah, that sucks Larry, maybe that's why it's not a 5 star hotel? The last 5 star hotel I stayed at (earlier this year) had an Ipad in every room with free wifi, so maybe that's worth the extra star, but considering that I'm here for 2 weeks, I reckon the hotel could throw a few freebies my way? Fcukers!

What does piss me off though, is that it's a beautiful day out there, and I don't have a bike to ride. I need to go fill the Ranger up anyway, so I might go for a drive up into the Blue Mountains today, and wind all the windows down, shove a bucket on my head and lean around corners, seriously, it won't be that different from riding the 'Wang! Anyway, I'm one state over, doing an Air Force explosive handlers course. Probably about time too, I've been handling all sorts of high explosives for the last 36 years without much in the way of formal training, and I'm just a tad pissed off to think that I've been breaking rules that i didn't even know existed! (which, by the way, is not an excuse if I ever did blow myself or someone esle, up)

A friend did that stuff  like that during wartime, When the Murrah building got trucked bummed he said he got a call,  from the gubbement and said WUDDN ME.  Cool guy, one of few guys I know that goes to the NASCAR/ races/ parties, even more amazing that he has active melanin unlike every person in ther crowds,. Jimmie is cool if you get what I say...I love him.

My oldest son is color blind and it pisses me off, he of course can't help it but color blindness itself pisses me off. I went down to his place last night with the intention on getting a jump on finishing up his 750 first thing this morning, get it up and running and head back here with enough time to relax before going to work tomorrow. Yeah well it didn't work out that way because due to his color blindness he had half the wires in his headlight bucket wrong and it took me 3 hours just to sort that mess out. The good news is the engine fired right up and ran beautifully, it just took forever for my son and I to get to the point of firing it up.

My brother is color blind too, his first job was working in an auto paint place, which included "eye matching" metallics in some cases.

We had a hotrod show one weekend, and a show car was damaged in transit but the owner was so keen to show it he got my bro to mix a litre by eye.

Big mistake, he painted the whole fender in a dark garage and when he took it outside, it wasn't even close! Lucky for my bro, he was bigger and uglier than me back in those days, so the car guy was only able to #$%* about it...............
