Well after having some chook and a couple of Corona's for lunch, I wandered out to the shed to replace the tail light bulb (and hopefully have the "Tail Light" warning light on the dash go out) on the 'Wang. I turned the key on, hit the button, and............. it didn't fire up? Fark.

I cranked it, I checked the spark (stacks) I checked the fuel was pumping into the carbs (heaps) but nothing was happening, apart from an ear splitting backfire now and then, which was ace, but the wife #$%*ed every time it went bang, which pissed me off.

Anyway, I pulled the #3 plug out, and cranked the engine to check it's spark, and the other three cylinders fired up and idled (with no choke) straight away? Weird. I'm guessing it's electrical, maybe a bad earth between the coils and the frame? I'll have to get onto the Goldwing site and ask the question, I'm guessing it's a common fault. Cheers, Terry. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

I'm pissed off that I passed by a gear puller a few days ago, the last time I was at Harbor Freight.  More pissed tonight cuz  I needed to pull the timing wheel off a Goldwing cam shaft today and didn't have that gear puller that pissed me off when I walked past it at Harbor Freight.

Head out to Lowes to pick up a gear pulled, getting pissed cuz I know I'll be paying Craftsman prices for Harbor Freight quality for a gear puller at Lowes.

Lowes doesnt have any gear pullers, WTF! so off to Pep Boys cuz they are close.  Really pissed now cuz I'm guna pay Mac Tool prices for Harbor Freight quality.  Get to Pep Boys and they are CLOSED!! $&!?$&!,  it's only 6:pm on a Sunday!!

Head over to AutoZone, getting Really Really pissed cuz now I'm guna pay SnapOn prices for Harbor Freight quality!! Get in there, find the puller I need, nothing fancy, just a three-jaw bad boy, only to have the lady, yes lady, behind the counter tell me that I could just RENT the thing for a $30 fully refundable deposit!!  Now I' really REALLY.... Oh wait, I get to use it, return it and get my $$ back? Ok, only mildly pissed now cuz all I've lost is about 45 minutes of wrench time.

Well, AutoZone is next to the grocery store and we're needing some bottled water. This store has a double-barrel gallon jug refiller machine, which I like cuz its so fast, (tho it does pisses me off that the Mrs doesn't trust city tap water just cuz it made our daughter's pet turtle grow an extra head!), so I stop in next door to fill up the water jugs I just happen to have in the back of the truck.  I'm just about done filling the jugs when the Mrs calls.  She's pissed off cuz I told her I was just running to Lowes and I'm about an hour over due.

I tell her the story of why it is taking so long, which is pissing us both off!  Then, I made the biggest mistake of this whole affair.  I told the Mrs that I just happen to be at the grocery store.  Big mistake, HUGE!!  I realized the mistake half way thru the sentence, too late to suck it back in.  Wait for it... wait for it... She says "Oh, since you are at the grocery store, could you pick up a few things??" FARK!! I'm caught!!  90 bux later, I'm loading up the truck with bags and bags of groceries, cases of pop, and yes, jugs of water!!

Haul it all home, sort out what stays in the garage and what has to get brought into the house, and then haul all the shyt in!!  Unpack the groceries, put 'em away and help the Mrs get dinner started.

I look outside and FARK!! Too dark to go out and work now!  My garage is so small, what with a Goldwing on the lift and a 750 next to it, making me work outside, using the truck's tailgate as a work bench.  So for the want of a cheep azz Harbor Freight gear puller, I lost several hours of wrench time and spent my evening grocery shopping instead!

Damn good thing I picked up a 6-pack of Short's Brewery Nut Brown Ale while I was at the grocery store, else I'd be pissed right now!

;D

I'm pissed off about people who've had "near death" experiences suddenly getting all smiley and content, and not exercising their democratic rights to whine  whenever they get the opportunity?

Now the following pisses me off .... what about the piss-ant cars with the boom box stereos that make your innards vibrate as you walk down the sidewalk or their "after-market" exhaust that would put a H-D to shame!!

Hmmm ... Terry .... "input from the Motorcycle and Moped industry"  ... that darn moped army is on the move ..  :o

Harry O.

City’s draft motorcycle noise by-law deals with community concerns

April 15, 2013 – Fredericton City Council has received a draft by-law to regulate motorcycle noise in the City of Fredericton. The by-law, which resulted from community concern over loud motorcycle noise, will be forwarded to the next regular Council meeting on April 22, 2013 for first and second reading as part of the by-law adoption process.
By-law No. S-14, A By-law to Regulate Motorcycle Noise in the City of Fredericton, comes about after a year of research looking at what other municipalities are doing, and with input from the Motorcycle and Moped Industry of Council, who identified the SAE J2825 standard as a way to measure motorcycle noise.
"While motorcycle riding is an enjoyable activity for many, loud motorcycle noise can affect quality of life in our community," said Coun. Scott McConaghy, Chair of the City of Fredericton’s Public Safety & Environment Committee. "This by-law should not impact anyone who has not altered the exhaust pipes on their motorcycle, but it gives us the tool we need to address noise concerns."
The City of Fredericton draft by-law outlines details related to sound levels, testing for noise and fines.
Sound levels in the draft by-law are tied to the SAE J2825 "Measurement of Exhaust Sound Pressure Levels of Stationary On-Highway Motorcycles" standard, which was developed by the Motorcycle Industry Council (MIC) and the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) International. The standard was first issued in May 2009 and revised in November 2012.
Section 2 of the draft by-law says that no person shall ride a motorcycle on any City street that emits any sound exceeding 92 dB(A). That number is obtained by using an Idle Test. For one, two, five, or six cylinder motorcycle, that sound cannot exceed 96 dB(A). And for three or four cylinder motorcycle, the sound cannot exceed 100 dB(A). These measurements are determined using a Set RPM Test or a Swept RPM Test.
All tests are conducted by holding a sound meter behind the exhaust outlet. A sound level meter will be used to test noise levels. dB(A) is a unit of measure in decibels that is used to express sound level pressure.
Under the draft by-law, police officers may conduct roadside tests or refer the motorcycle to another time and place for testing. If the motorcycle tested exceeds to allowable noise limits, police may direct that the bike be removed from operation until the matter has been resolved and the motorcycle retested.
In the event that the motorcycle owner fails to comply with the request, a minimum fine of $250 and a maximum fine of $500 may be levied. The motorcycle owner may be fined an additional $50 to $250 for each day the muffler is not fixed.
The draft by-law may be viewed by visiting the proposed by-law section of the City’s website.
Comments or concerns may be submitted to the Office of the City Clerk, 506-460-2127 or by email.

So by this i assume that the miserable whiners of Fredericton City spend a lot of time trying to get their heads run over by motorcycles just to complain about the noise.....Interesting....  I would have thought the sound should be measured from a position on the side of the road back from the side walk where most homes are....  Fcuking minority groups and do gooders, they really piss me off too....

That's excellent Brian. It pissed me off that you died twice between the race-track and the hospital after your crash and God, jehova, Allah, your Aunty Betty, whoever, didn't make an appearance like happens to everyone else who dies (apparently) if I believe everything else I see on Foxtel? (cable TV here in Oz for my Seppo cousins)

Still, it could have been worse, it could've been a dude with horns and a pitchfork, which wouldn't have been nearly as much fun............ Anyway, yep, let me know when you're gonna be here next and we'll have a beer or ten! Cheers, Terry. ;D
