I just got out of bed after 12 hours of zonking. I woke up at 6am with some back pain, so I took some more pills and just woke up again. Hmmnnn, I think I'll have eggs and bacon on toast for lunch...........
Mick, when the 318i first came out (1980?) I was posted to a little Army Reserve unit in Lidcombe, in NSW. There was a road that ran along the border of the Lidcombe Cemetry up to the Ag college, from memory, it was dead staright and cop-free, so I used to "test" my K1 up and down that road.
One day, I followed 2 little BMW 318i's driven by mechanics from the local BMW dealership who were also "Testing" these little buggers, I sat up one's clacker at 115 MPH by my speedo, and I could see the driver smiling away in his rear view mirror. Great fun!
Another problem with 318i's is that the discs were only good for around 60,000 Km max, before they wore to undersize, and the OEM discs were over 1000 bucks for the four. The service manager at Melbourne BMW told me that, probably to cheer me up when he told me that my K100RT front discs were rooted......... But that still pissed me off.
