Also, they've all got to get over the Carbon tax thing, I was listening to a couple of them saying how they'll fight the coalition to keep the carbon tax as they've got a mandate from their electorates, but what they don't seem to realise is that the coalition have an overwhelming madate from the majority of Aussie voters to piss it off! I disagree Terry, the mandate you suggest came from the lies and hysteria of Abbotts mob, yemember how Albany was to "dissapear of the map due to the carbon tax", how has it impacted on you..? It becomes a Emissions trading scheme soon so the price per ton will be the same world over and it working exceptionally well, our emissions have dropped dramatically and lead to research and development into some very good permanent solutions for power production like geo thermal and large scale solar, i know you'll probably laugh at that but caveman Abbott is slashing funding into ALL alternate energy production, completely in some instances, his foresight goes as far as his rather large ears, which by the way, do very well guarding the empty space in between...

No Mick, the "Mandate" came from the vast majority of Australian voters voting for the coalition. No one with half a brain would have ever thought that the Carbon tax was any more than a cynical grab for money, while appeasing the hippies and poofters that are the Greens.

How did the Carbon Tax affect me personally? It increased my electricity and gas bills by around 10-15 percent, it's increased the cost of every consumer product manufactured in Oz from food to frangers, and it's caused several large manufacturers here in Victoria to move their operations overseas.

Moving manufacturing offshore creates unemployment, so once again, as a tax payer, I'll be expected to "chip in" and not complain about more tax increases to cover unemployment benefits for all those who've lost their jobs due to the Carbon Tax.

How anyone could think that Labor has done anything of worth in the last 6 years is beyond me. We're 300 billion dollars in the red, we've got thousands of illegal immigrants sitting on Christmas Island, Nauru and Mannus Island that are costing us hundreds of millions of dollars per year to feed and clothe, (money that could have been spent on hospitals, or roads, or even alternate energy) and thanks to Labors last 6 years of mindless extravagance, Tony Abbot has somehow got to keep the country running, and please all the Labor/Green voters with their hands permanently thrust out for yet another handout, with nothing in the bank.   

Don't worry though, Labor will get back in, in a couple of terms. The Coalition will have to take drastic measures to get the budget back in the black, the average Aussie voter will get pissed off because they're not getting as many handouts as they would have under Labor, Labor's new leader will promise a handout too good to refuse, and it'll start all over again. That's the way it's been since Federation, and sadly, that's the way it will always be. Cheers, Terry.

What you say Terry is likely true and accurate, but what pisses me off is I can't see the prices being reduced even IF the carbon tax etc is repealed. And I still can't see where the Abbott is going to source the income to cover for it, apart from slashing services, govt expenditure and, as a result, jobs. Sure, labor will get blamed for it, but I haven't seen much yet that I'd call solutions.
I may be talking out of my skinny butt, cos I'm not real smart when it comes to politics and economics, but I'm not convinced we're gonna be saved

You're tellin' me!  CBC club all the way. I think I said it clear on an editing war on the wiki site. Not sure what an edit war is , but here's what I said about the labor dirtbags. (they're just a revenue part of the Democrats here int the good 'ol USA.)

Well look men, you've all got good points, Pete, yes, do have a skinny butt, (not that I've looked...........) Mick, Julie Bishop might not appeal to you in the same way you fell about for Juliar Gillard in 2010, and Dave, what can I say, I love a good storm too.

Seriously, I don't know how the Coalition is gonna get us out of the hole that Labor dug for us all, for fcuks sake, those incompetent fools blew 300 billion dollars in just 6 years,  that they borrowed from fcuking China, and the interest bill alone is 7 billion dollars a year! (and that's at todays interest rates, can you imagine how much it'll be if the interest rates ever go back up to 17%?)

So yes, they'll have to cut all sorts of services to put the budget back into the black, but they won't do that by just putting the razor thru the public service like Gillard did earlier this year. Tony Abbott has promised to stop the boats, and as unlikely as that sounds, it costs around $100K per illegal immigrant, so for every 10 that he pisses off, he's saved us a million bucks.

He's also said that he wants to be an infrastructure Prime Minister, so he's taking a leaf out of Franklin D. Roosevelt's book by keeping people in work with the flow on from large infrastructure projects. By getting rid of the Carbon Tax and the Mining Tax big business will feel more confidant to invest, which once again, will mean more jobs. (and yes, you and I will probably see no reduction in power bills, but that's to be expected, once the power companies get used to spending our money that Labor "Gifted" to them, they won't want to give it back) 

Anyway, we'll see. If the coalition doesn't do a better job than Labor, I'll root Julie Bishop. Of course, I wouldn't crawl over Julie to get to any of you "Dreamboats".............

You read too many newspapers Terry, the rest of the world thinks Abbott is a complete idiot for bagging our economy for 6 years, yes, you tell enough lies people will believe you { i think Hitler said the same thing }. My son just got home from 6 months in the UK playing cricket, he said the papers there are calling Abbott a complete fool for talking down our economy, it is one of the best in the world, our debt levels are SMALL and easily manageable, on a per capita basis our debt is the equivalent of about a $40 dollar a week mortgage, I personally would kill for that. Yes the Labor party #$%*ed a few things up and thats all thats been focused on because the press here is basically owned by one guy that has a massive interest in getting Abbott and Co in power so the NBN will be less competition for his TV interests, the papers i read leading up to the election were absolutely fcuking ridiculous and embarrassing at the same time. We would have had a deep recession without money being spent, a lot of smarter people world wide know that and other countries, after trying austerity turned to stimulus successfully to turn their downturn around, Japan and the US are both good examples. We have it too good compared to most and now are getting greedy. demanding and complacent  and are believing all the bull#$%* that is shoved down our throats, well some of us don't. I see NSW is losing the IRC at the moment, look at what Newman is doing in Queensland...   Deficits and surpluses are necessary, as common as arseholes and all part of the way all world economies work, our debt is definitely a big number but a small debt all the same and easily managed regardless what anyone thinks...  What blows me away is just how gullible Aussies have become......  All hail Abbott, we'll all find out the hard way.....It is good to finally see a Liberal government talking infrastructure but at the same time they want to sell millions of hectares of OUR country to Indonesia, the WA government just sold our biggest wheat farms to China, If your wonderful Liberal fools are in long enough we'll have to learn another language....  Yes i'm real happy we have a religious zealot that "would sell his arse to become PM" shows where his priorities are....
