Yeah Krusty, your hero's Kevin and Juliar also put up the age for the age pension from 65 to 67 (for me) and later again for people born after me.
When I started working full time in 1975 I knew that I'd have to work and pay tax for 50 years until I was 65, but now, thanks to your hero's, it'll be 67, unless they get back in again and run us out of money again, and then it might be 70, or 75, or who knows when? It doesn't matter how many increases pensioners get under Labor if there are no bloody pensioners. Marvellous.........
They also removed the "Dependant Spouse" tax entitlement so I can't claim for my wife any longer, so not only does she not bring any extra income into the house, I have to pay an extra $4K per year in tax so she can stay home. Thanks Kevin and Juliar, you're the best!
Paid maternity leave (which will be paid by the employer, not the tax payer, by the way) for professional people is an excellent idea. Before, the only people interested in the baby bonus were 16 year old girls who used the money to buy a new 42 inch TV, a case of Jimmie and a carton of fags, and bred a nation of unemployable Bogans.
I'd rather have a nation of achievers, so we don't have to import or future professionals. The baby bonus (a coalition initiative) was a good idea, that was exploited by scumbags and migrants. And that pisses me off.
