Ooher, and I almost forgot that I'm pissed off too. I just watched the remake of "Red Dawn", which is way better than the original, but still crap.

That doesn't piss me off, most recent movies are rubbish, no, what pisses me off is that North Korea couldn't invade New Zealand let alone the US, so there's little chance that they'll ever give me the opportunity to go Wolverine on their arse.

Lucky for them too, if they invaded my home town I'd invade theirs, and turn Pyongyang into Poontang............ ;D

While you're there Terry, can you get us our boat back?  Thanks, much appreciated!
Can I have a motorcycle when I get old enough?
If you take care of it.
What do you have to do?
Lot’s of things. You’ve been watching me.
Will you show me all of them?
Sure.
Is it hard?
Not if you have the right attitudes. It’s having the right attitudes that’s hard.

Didn't John Wayne die of AIDS? You know, it was just before Rock Hudson (another Hollywood "Macho-Man") sucked his last weiner.

I don't know for sure, but it'd sure explain why the "Duke" was so bow-legged, many years after he rode his last horse? ;D

I told you not to tell me that! >:(

Oops, sorry Brian, I was drunk when I read your post, and I thought you'd told me TO tell you that............ ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Geez, I was so upset that I'd misread Brian's instructions and upset him that I forgot how pissed off I am today! Here's a letter that I wrote to the editor of the Melbourne Herald Sun newspaper this afternoon:

"I'm as mad as hell. Last year, I fell foul of the notorious Wellington Road speed camera's on Eastlink.

Even though I had my cruise control set on 100Kph and the camera warning buzzer on my GPS didn't go off, I received a fine for exceeding the speed limit by 5 Kph. (actual speed detected was 108 Kph, just like thousands of other Victorians received around the same time)

I went to court (twice) to plead my innocence, wasting the best part of two work days. Finally the magistrate decided that he had to find the charge proved, (he explained that to be found not guilty I had to prove that either the camera was faulty or that I wasn't speeding) but due to my excellent driving record (his words) he released me without conviction.

I was still awarded one demerit point, was made to make a donation of $100.00 to the trauma unit of the Alfred Hospital, and was placed on a 6 month good behavior bond. Fantastic. All because I dared to plead not guilty.

Listening to Neil Mitchell on 3AW, I learned that the only person to be found not guilty was an off duty policewoman, driving her own car. I wondered what it had been fitted with for her to prove that the same speed camera that I was detected by was either faulty, or, that she'd not been speeding?

Now, after reading the article in the HS yesterday, I discover that if I'd just written to the police, due to my "Excellent Driving record", I'd probably have just been issued with a warning?

Gee thanks everyone,I wasted the best part of two days pleading my innocence in court, when was anyone going to get around to telling me all of my efforts weren't necessary?

Did the Police Prosecutor who I spoke to at length on my first visit to court, (who told me to just plead guilty and pay the fine) or the magistrate who put me on a 6 month good behavior bond for exceeding the speed limit by 5 Kph in a 100 Kph zone know that I could have just been given a warning?

And the authorities wonder why Victorians have no faith in our legal system........ "

What will pisses me off more, is that the letter will probably never be printed. Cheers, Terry. ;D

That pisses me off too Terry, what a joke.
Hope they see fit to publish it....
I'm hearing stories of people in Vic getting done for 2kph over, ffs, the car manufacturers won't even guarantee their speedos to be better than 10% tolerance....that's 6kph at 60, so what hope have we got ffs. >:(

The #$%*ing incompetent QLD government has just lowered the tolerance for speeding to 2% over, meaning at 50KPH,  1 Kilometer an hour over gets you fined, they are getting an extra 20,000 cars a day already and its a #$%*ing joke, don't get me started on the anti association laws....that really pisses me off.... over here you can find out and challenge the calibration of the camera's and guns. Lots of times they don't even keep up with the manufacturers specified calibration requirements. If the equipment isn't tuned right or the inspection sticker is out since the last time it was done, it gets thrown out. That #$%* pisses me off, but it really pisses them off if you catch them bull#$%*ting or plain lazy.

everyone should do that, they wouldn't pull so much #$%* world wide.  or maybe they would ....I'd be still pissed.

The fact that people have to go deal with this #$%* during working hours is lame too, these #$%*s have night shifts, they should take to letting people handle this kind of crap during non-money making hours. #$%*in parasites ill spray paint every camera I can reach.

its been known that the previous reading on the hand held radar hasnt been deleted and they keep it for the next car!one guy challenged his speed and went to court,he asked for the previous speed readings from other cars booked and the last seven were all exactly the same?he wasnt fined and the judge said the officer needed retraining in the radars use?that kinda #$%* pisses me off!

Ha ha, as expected, my letter wasn't published. Re: the calibration thing, that was what I based my whole defence on.

If you read the linked article, it says that "Speed cameras are tested for accuracy every three months" so when I was furnished with the court documents I checked the calibration certificate and it showed that the camera had been last calibrated 5 months before my alleged offence. When the magistrate asked me why I pleaded "Not Guilty", I explained that the camera was overdue for calibration, and hence, could be inaccurate.

http://theage.drive.com.au/roads-and-traffic/speeding-fines-wiped-after-camera-test-bungle-20120214-1t33f.html

The Magistrate asked the Police Prosecutor how often they were calibrated but he didn't know, so the Magistrate retired to his chambers to study the Speed Camera Act. When he came back 30 minutes later (he apologised, but he'd had to sign a restraining order while he was in his chambers) he told me that in fact they only needed to be calibrated once every 12 months.

I guess that's why they tell you never to believe everything they print in the newspapers............   >:( ;D

All bikes at the moment, especially if there are more than 2 people riding together, I know of 5 people on staurday that were pulled over, all details and tattoo's recorded and then they were made to ride off at different times so not to travel as a group , now they are documenting people with tattoos, it all gone to #$%*....here's a nice little read from this week...

“Just thought I'd share that i was out for a drive in my Ford Focus with my 3 sons in the car who are 6, 3 and 2, and i got pulled over by police when i wasn't speeding or doing anything else wrong apart from wearing a singlet with my tattoos showing, which is a full sleeve, half sleeve and knuckles. They asked for my license which i handed over. They went back to their car and then an other officier came back to do a RBT. They then took that and came back a third time and asked to take my photo. I refused, tried grabbing a jumper from the back floor to cover my ink, still refusing. He said I will have to go into the police station within 7 days to have my finger prints and photos done. I refused 5 times and the #$%* still took my photo on his phone, and yet i still have to go get my prints done. This is bull#$%*. I recorded the whole thing and will fight and protest; this is harassment at its fullest. Just cos a person has tattoos doesnt mean their crims.

ok now
sorry I had some anger pent up.

That was excellent work Tom, I tried to change all those words back to proper swear words but I was laughing too hard and I gave up.

Last year was a bad year for me, I had 3 traffic infringements in the space of around 3 or 4 months. I did get off a "Red Light" fine which would have cost me 300 bucks and 3 demerit points though. Basically, I was in pretty heavy early morning traffic, I saw the light changing to amber but went thru it anyway, and just before I entered the intersection it changed to red.

At the time I thought that the amber light didn't stay on for long, but I could have just been mentally making an excuse in preparation for the inevitable fine.
(Our state budget is heavily reliant on revenue from speed camera's, red light camera's, and poker machines, so if they can make a fine stick, they will, with vigour)

Around the same time, I listened to an interview on 3AW of a guy called Gordon Bishop who challenged a red light camera fine after getting booked. Interestingly for me, he thought that the amber light didn't stay on for long before it changed to red, so he read the legislation and found out that the amber light was supposed to stay on for 3.5 seconds at that intersection. He went back and timed the amber light several times, and it only stayed on for 3 seconds. He presented this info as his defence, and won his case.

This caused the red light camera authority to test all of the red light camera's in Melbourne, and they found 8 to be faulty (including mine, it should have stayed on for 4.5 seconds, but had been incorrectly timed to change to red after only 3 seconds!) so they rescinded all the infringements and refunded all the fines that had already been collected.

As I'd been booked each time whilst driving my company car, I'd been given a stern talking to by my wanker of a boss (who's no longer my boss, thank fcuk) so I sent him an email, cc'd to my senior operations manager and state manager, announcing that the infringement had been rescinded and why, and a little message about me being "Innocent until proven guilty", but surprisingly, I didn't get a reply from any of them. And that pissed me off............... ;D

When I was an auto mechanic the shop owner let me use the company truck which had the shop name all over it for a few days while I waited for parts for my car to arrive. When he handed me the keys one of the first things he said was "Don't you dare go driving around tossing fireworks out the window while driving this truck tonight" ..... it always pissed me off wondering why he thought I would do such a thing.  ;)

I'm curious to see if you local city hall will actually refund all of the bungled redlight camera fines?
