Too long to properly explain but there is a welder at work that management has gone out of their way to make life miserable for to the point that he almost came unglued the other day and made the comment to another worker about coming in and shooting the place up. With all the craziness going on with trigger happy goofs his comment got everyone's attention, most just blew it off thinking he'd never do something like that but a few of us weren't amused by it at all. His comment wasn't what pissed me off, it's the fact that management has pushed this guy to the point that he would even consider it to begin with. I mean gee whiz if you dislike like the guy so much then why don't you just fire him rather than deliberately treat him like a piece of sh*t hoping that he quits instead? Even the most rationally minded person can do something really stupid when pushed too far.

I 100% agree with you Scott.
The way I look at it is that management should have the skills and a set of guidelines to address these sorts of situations in a way that's fair to all.

As you said mate, if somebody is pushed to the extremities and starts thinking and feeling that they've been "outcasted ",  the unpredictable can become a real possibility.

A part of management's legal responsibilities here is to deal with this stuff that has a fair and equitable outcome for all involved.

It can and is a piss off for sure in some instances and will end up in court before the beak if things can't be resolved through negotiation.

I guess that it's like trying to smile while your having a divorce.

I was all set to go to the production office and light into the supervisors about how they were treating him but being I heard the comment from a rumor that came from another rumor I figured I better keep shut until I knew the facts. The guy does bring a lot of it on himself due to his whiny nature in fact I actually don't have too much sympathy for him because he's tried to get me in trouble with his whining BUT I don't think he deserves to be treated like garbage either. Management has never cared much for him but things started getting really bad when he failed his canadian welding bureau weld test for the 4th time in a row and is not allowed to do any welds that require full penetration. His weld tests didn't just fail they catastrophically failed as in they snapped in 2 ....... and that's not good.

It sounds to me that your co-worker is an incompetent whiney jerk Scott, and deserves to be fired. The problem is of course, that if he was fired, he probably would come back and shoot you all, as is the fashion in the "Land of the Free".

So your management is probably stuck between a rock and a hard place, they want him gone because he's not a welder's arsehole and a whiner to boot, but they don't want him to come back and shoot up all their good welders?

I think that considering this is a real issue, regardless of whether you only heard it as a secondhand rumor, you need to report it to the cops. In a lot of mass murders, the murderer has already told his co-workers what he's gonna do, and they've either ignored him as just ranting, or they've decided that it "isn't their responsibility" to do something about it.

Don't wait for management to act, call the cops anonimously so co-worker Psycho-pants doesn't find out that it was you, and the worse thing that might happen is the cops might take his guns away, and you might have saved some of your co-workers lives.

With Christmas just around the corner, Psycho-Pants might be preparing to make a "statement" like that jerk did in Sandy Hook last December . Cheers, Terry.

"Gonski" (named after the eminent professor who wrote a white paper on education reforms in Oz) only included 5% of Professor Gonski's recommendations, and he was so disgusted in Labor naming their new (for that week) education reforms after him, he said publicly that he'd considered changing his name.

"Gonski" was only popular in Labor states so to sell it to NSW Juliar and her cast of ugly people offered the NSW premier all sorts of back-handers to get it across the line in a non labor state. Of course, the funding for Gonski was always going to come from additional borrowing, something that the Labor government was very good at, they turned a 70 billion dollar surplus into a 300 billion dollar deficit in only 3 years.

"Typhoon Tony" and his cast of ugly folk is in a bind. Labor raised the debt ceiling from nothing to 300 billion, so the only way he can continue servicing the debt and providing the same level of half-arsedness as his labor predecessors is by raising the debt ceiling further. Of course now, "Electricity Bill" and his ugly people are crying foul, saying "How dare the new government ask for a raise in the debt ceiling, just because we emptied the coffers?"

So we're in a situation where the previous government offered a flawed series of education reforms that will cost a fortune and (according to Professor Gonski) achieve no measurable result, whilst sucking billions of dollars of taxpayers money into an education black hole.

The government can't afford it (or much else for that matter) because they're trying to work out how 8 million tax payers are going to pay back the 300(+) billion dollars that Labor pissed up against the wall, so they're trying to be a bit frugal with what's coming in, and of course Labor and the ugly Labor supporters are saying, "Come on guys, you've been in power 2 whole months now, how long is gonna take to clean up our mess?"

I think you guys should stick to whatever it is that your good at, because politics isn't your forte............

I'm not a red ragger, and I've been known to swing, in a political way, and politics is not my forte as you have accurately observed, but I do know politics and govt piss me off.

Well that was a load of hot air, i suppose the $75,000 for rich b1tch upper middle class mothers is great policy too ?. With the right side of politics blowing its horn about how great it would be in leading the country and rubbishing everything the left { and most experts at home and overseas} had to say has left them open to massive ridicule, why you ask, because they have no credible way to live up to anything they said because it was all chest beating bullsh1t. You can rant all you like about the economic mess, we are still in a better financial position than the rest of the world and our debt figures when compared by capita are very small and easily manageable , our debt was the 3rd smallest and the 2 countries ahead of us had far smaller economies with less risk, in most other fiscal areas we were and have been number one since the GFC, and thats fact, we have been used as an example of economic management by the rest of the world and because of the right sided media in Aus { Murdoch and Co}all the sheeple believed every bit of crap that came out of Abbott and Co's grubby little mouths, now the grubs are struggling to come close to managing their hype and are falling further into debt as predicted by anyone that was able to think for themselves...I can't believe just how gullible most Aussies really are... And just to be clear, as you like to label anyone who disagrees with you opinion, I don't support anyone in Aussie politics, they are all lying self interested career politicians and not worth the air they breathe. One more thing, just remember that your sacred surplus came about because you lot sold off most of our assets {thats a fact also} and are now throwing money at the states to sell the rest of their assets , real sound policy that is....

Well the old Emailair split aircon that was over 20 years old finally chucked the towell in.
I pulled it apart a couple years ago and gave it bit of a birthday but she was on her final legs.

I can remember that 3HP was the biggest that could run on single phase power back then.
Anyway, I rang up the ol' mate who's the Daikin lad here in Darwin  and asked him if he could install the biggest lad that can run on single phase because you need a big one up here especially at this time of the year.

No worries, Damo's onto it and she's a goer.
This inverter aircon is rated at 9.4.KW on the cooling cycle which is about 12.5HP according to the calculator.

So that's gone and punched a bloody big hole in my Xmas beer fund.
It looks like Santa won't be getting a bottle of beer and a bicky left out for him this year which is gonna piss him off.

That's a nice piece of kit Mick, I've got ducted cooling here that I haven't switched on so far this year, we had a piss poor summer last year and so far we haven't had a real hot day either, although it did scrape in at 31 on Wednesday, before it pissed down rain again. Oh well.........

I bought the biggest one I could get, the salesman told me I didn't need it but I bought it anyway and it's beaut, it'll blow the glass outta the windows if we don't open them, and it costs bugger all to run. People who don't buy the biggest possible thing that they can piss me off.

I agree with you mate.
The initial outlay hits the back pocket but they'll run a lot more efficiently than those Harvey Norman specials that make the power meter redline all day trying to keep the joint cool.

When I told the missus about this aircon, she said that she wanted to have a look at some other options.
So I said to her that there are no other options because this is the biggest one and it's already got my name on it.
That pissed her off. 

She's settled down about it now because it's nice and cool and quiet inside the house.
In the meantime, Muggsys outside mowing the bloody grass again and sweating my friggen ring off in the mongrel heat.

Yeah, I feel your pain Mick, I'm trying to invent an airconditioned hat with stereo speakers built in and I've got the prototype working, but it weighs 400 pounds and if that isn't enough pressure on my neck, I nearly hung myself when I got the extension cord caught in the branches of the plum tree when I was doing the whipper-snipping last Sunday.

And then the next door neighbour goes crook about the hole in his wall and accuses me of knocking off his aircon box? I'm insulted! Bloody wogs, they're so suspicious! Anyway, seeing that Brian didn't want my Bolens ride-on for his ma to replace her mobility scooter, I'm gonna build a trailer for it and mount the aircon on the trailer with a duct blowing the icy cold air straight at me as I drive along.

If I'm using the Victa or the Aldi weed wacker, my Stihl blower, or my ripper 118cc chainsaw, I'll get the missus to drive the Bolens right along beside me with that frosty air blowing over me as I toil away. That should also stop the grass and dried dog shiit from sticking to my sweaty body, so I won't need a shower either. Shiit-hot, another day without having to have a shower! What a labour-saving device this will be! 

It'll almost piss me off to have to go back inside when I'm finished and switch on the ducted cooling, once I've disconnected the power cord from my neighbours external power socket, that is..........
