vstroms piss me off!ive serviced my neighbours one before, today we did pads and fluids etc, about 1000 little screws and push in clips to remove half the front fairing to start with, then you have to unbolt and move the radiator to get to one of the forward spark plugs(twin plug heads),then the fuel tank has to come off to do one of the rear plugs and the airfilter,it wouldnt be so bad if the #$%*ing thing wasnt so ugly,he bought it new four years ago,got rid of his gsx750 he had for 15 years, that was easy to do as he only did it like every five years.
Here's a solution for the Vstrom Dave.  ;D
This should piss the neighbour off when you tell him that you couldn't find the right size spanner.  ;D

Seems that Yammie has been nothin but trouble, Terry?  Can understand how that pisses you off!

Ha ha, well it's a "project" Steve, and like most of the ones I buy, it sat unloved for a few years, but it's one saving grace is that 130 BHP, in a straight line it's lotsa fun! Cheers, Terry. ;D

I just realised today that I haven't turned my computer on since christmas eve.  It pisses me off I have so much to catch up on, on here.  But it doesn't piss me off the reason why I haven't been on the computer.  After 4 years of fighting with my drug #$%*ed ex, and the stupid family law system, I now have my 3 kids with me for the most part.  I wish I could cut her out of their lives completely but I know that isn't really the best for the kids.  She has moved back to Victoria, so won't have much influence on the kids now thankfully.  Now I have 4 years of catch up, to do.  I have a 10 year old with ASD who hasn't had anywhere the support he needs and a 7 year old whose English skills are shocking.  Which really pisses me off >:(.  I've done what I could for them over the past 4 years but it has been difficult when I only saw them every other weekend.

Thanks Mick, they're settling in nicely now.  Been here since the weekend before Christmas and I was given the news that they would be staying here 2 days before Christmas.  It was the best Christmas present I've ever had ;D.

Well that is a sweet tool Mick, and as much as I'd love to have one, I maintain that chainsaws should be 2 strokes, so maybe this engine would suffice?

Just for kicks I put my 73 cb500 up for sale on CL this morning, I figured I wouldn't get any responses but geez was I wrong. The first caller was on their way from Indy with a trailer to get it, then the 2nd caller who I told they had to wait till after the 1st one took it or not, 3rd caller wanted to trade a glock pistol with ammo, carrying case and cleaning kit (no need for a gun plus it had scam written all over it). The one that hurt the most to say no to was the 4th caller who was willing to trade a 74 cb750 for my 500. I told him "why couldn't you have been the first one to call?!!  :'(" I have no clue what shape the 750 was in and right now I don't want to know because the 500 found a new owner about an hour or so ago to that first caller.

Yeah it willl be an uphill battle but I've already won the most important part.  The kids love their step-mother and think the sun shines out of her arse.  Thankfully she has stepped up to the plate and treats them as if they are her kids.  I do feel really lucky ;D.

The only thing that is pissing me off at the moment is the friggin heat.  We had 39c at home today, and it now just shy of 30c and 80% humidity at 8:30pm.  I know that the fellas down around Brissy copped it a bit more than we did up here, I hate summer.

My daughter took a photo of the temp gauge in her car today (in Brisbane)
I thought that it was hot here in Darwin but that's just raised the bar by 10 Deg C.

I saw the lad at the Moomba Pub frying an egg on a shovel the other day. ;D

I'll trade guys, -12c overnight with wind -20 something, love my country, but could we be a little more selective about global warming, I'm not adverse to Palm trees or Olive trees, I've got 4 1/2 acres that would love olives.

Yeah Bill, I don't want to cast doubt on the science of global climate change, but I'm disappointed that I haven't noticed any change around here in the last 54 years? It's still bloody cold in winter and bloody hot in summer, so I'm wondering when GCC is gonna kick in? ;D

Now I'm pissed off. Put some new iridium plugs in the 1100 and 750. Mate and I took them for a ride, sweeeeeet. Then the 750 decided to start running rough and break down under load. Idles fine, goes ok with little throttle, but breaks down under power. We think maybe the coils aren't keeping up with the extra spark from the iridiums - well, that's a theory. The bike has always run a bit rich, and when I removed the plugs they were quite sooty, so I've wound out the air screws 1/4 turn, but no change to the breaking down. I'm going to get some new standard plugs and see if it goes back to the reasonably fine running beastie that she is. The plugs after all were the only thing we changed, and it was running fine before the change.
I've got electronic ignition to put in it, inc new coils, but ffs I just don't seem to have the time.
The 1100 is running great on the iridiums.

I also got pissed off on that test ride when a knobhead in a 4wd decided to sit 12" behind me and sit on his horn.....in traffic when I had nowhere to go, only doing about 40kph (very busy this time of the year down here on the coast), then he pulls out and passes me with oncoming traffic coming, about 12" from my side and then slams across in front of me nearly taking out my front wheel. That was enough for me, so I followed him and pulled up alongside of him at a stop sign, but he took off without looking at me, so I kept following him - I had plenty of fuel and he had to stop sooner or later. Eventually he pulled into a driveway where I then pulled up behind him, and after a few seconds of discussion with his clearly nervous wife sitting alongside of him, he got out of his car, and I said the obvious...'wtf is your problem cockhead?'....and he says in his upper class toffy nosed fkn arrogant plum in the mouth voice 'you were in my way'. WTF?? I said...'what, don't I have the right to be on the road?'...and he says...wait for it.....'you're on a bike, you were riding near the centre line and you could have pulled over a bit so people can get past you'....at that point I told him...'fk off you fkn idiot'....and rode away. What a fkn knob. What's the point in arguing with a knob like that.
So obviously, as motorcyclists we are expected to ride in the gutter so 4wd owners can squeeze past us to arrive at the next stop sign 1.2secs earlier. Give me fkn strength.

Pete, what are your plug gaps like.  If they are too wide they will case the symptoms you described.

As for that moron, a steel bar up the side of his head would have done a #$%*wit like that the world of good.  >:(

Dave - I got them cheap  ;D
But the 1100 does seem a bit 'sharper'...but that could just be my imagination. I won't get around to changing the 750 ones back until next Saturday, so see what happens.

TB - they are at .2mm...you think that is ok?

I agree with you Dave, but they are the only thing I have found to remove the slight miss the crapodore v6's have at idle.

Pete, do you mean 1.2mm, if so that is too wide for the standard ignition (0.2mm wouldn't run), they need to be about .8mm.  If you do regap them be very careful to not knock the tip off the centre electrode.

iridiums should last longer,i have a lot of dealings with commodores, normal plugs run fine, look elsewhwere if you have miss at idle, like low fuel pump pressure from the regulator,or a "hovering"oil pressure sensor, late model engine diagostics piss me off?
