Bushfires piss me off. We've got fires going all over the state, some not far from me, some near some of the wife's family, and some near my folks place. Once again, some have been deliberately lit, which pisses me off. If I caught a priick lighting a fire, I'd tie the fcuker to a tree........ ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

I've been playing that vid over and over Eric, it makes me feel cooler, ha ha! ;D

Your paint is looking good Mick, not sure about the silver flake though, looks a bit "Proscilla, Queen of the Desert", to me? ;D

Don't worry about the arrow thing, as long as the larger gap is at the back of the forks, the caps will be pointing the right way. ;D
That flakey look only came right out after the last coat of paint mate.
I'll give a going over with some fine paper when it dries properly and see if it can be dulled out a bit.

If it still looks a bit POOF I'll do it again with a different silver.
That's gunna piss me off.  ;D
If I was you
I'd be worried about me.

I used to paint cars Mick, and the flake always sits on top if you give it a light, dry spray. Just give it another full wet coat Mick, and the flake will sink into it. Cheers, Terry. ;D

If your painting that out of a can Mick, keep shaking it as you paint, otherwise the flake settles in the can and gets more obvious towards the end of the can.. ;)

Thanks mate.
That's exactly what happened.
It was the last bit of paint left in the can and I should've left the bloody thing alone because that flek wasn't as obvious before then.
I'll sort it out mate.  ;D

Mick, I found some pictures of a couple of my resurrections that I painted the fork lowers with caliper paint.
These are the best pic's that I could find...

Sorry, that's all that I could find.

I like the look of that Eric.
Reckon that I'll coat it over with caliper paint to get rid of that silver flek.
Thanks mate.

I'm pissed off with USPS. Usually I don't have any problems getting stuff out of the US. Except with items coming from, apparently, the SE.
Sitrep.
Purchased, off ebay, two sets (8)  emblem clips from South Side Honda, Lafayette. Jan 24. Tracking shows order conf. Jan 24. Enroute Jan 30, Baton Rouge.  Then dispatched from sort facility OPA Locka FL Feb 01.
Enroute Feb 05, Miami. Desp from sort facility Miami Feb 6.  OK its had a little holiday in Miami. That's 2 weeks and it hasn't left the country yet! Feb 6, International Dispatch ready. Is it now on its way?
Compare with this;
Purchased off ebay again, one crankcase half for 78 DT250, 26 Jan. Sent from Greenfield MA. Arrived here in OZ Feb 5.

I severely doubt it has been snowed in in recent history.   And the U of Miami is reason enough to be pissed off at Miami, along with all those other Florida schools.

Sounds like a tax issue or global terror prevention effort.

peimar solar still work on cloudy days, they need light not necessarily direct sunlight. In saying that, they definitely don't generate the same amount of power under cloudy conditions, about 40% less depending on conditions {more or less}. There are also more than one type of solar cells , they all have their pro's and cons depending on your circumstances. Probably time for a change of subject before we piss off the regular contributors.... 8) {although, isn't that the reason for the thread}    :P

I am really not huge fan of solar technology.. It is very expensive and efficiency is still very less.

To be honest, the advances that have been happening the last few years have made solar far more viable.  I have solar hot water on my house, it uses 25w of power to run the whole system unless I have to boost it, which I haven't had to do since it was fitted in June of last year.  It is a far better system than the gas we had hooked up previously, it used 45kg of gas every 4-5weeks.  I don't know about you but I would sooner pay a little more at the outset and save in the long run.  Also I would like to think that my grandkids have a decent world to live in.

Tracking from the US usually stops at the door here, it tells you when it leaves the US and when it arrives in customs here, when it leaves customs and when it has arrived at the door....... I have had it leave from New York, Chicago and Florida.... ;) Chicago was the slowest...

Well, the clips arrived yesterday Feb 11. Tracking now shows
Feb 06 "International dispatch ready Miami".
Feb 10 Arrived Abroad.
Compare. 2 weeks to leave US. 1 day to deliver in Oz.
Bought F2 decals from Diablo Cycles, Ontario. Mailed Feb 5 arrived yesterday also. 6 days!!
Last year I bought something, can't remember what, but it took even longer than the clips, almost 4 weeks. Tracking showed it sitting in a sort facility in Puerto Rico!
It wasn't as if these clips were in a big package or box, just a small envelope.
I don't know what was going on this time as I usually ask for USPS First Class delivery rather than Global Priority because delivery time is usually no different and is cheaper.
At least I can complete my F2 tank as it is painted, decals, emblems and clips all ready to go.
Rant over.

Thats not unusual Krusty, I've bought hundreds of parts from the US and some take a week, some take a month, usually they turn up eventually, only ever had one parcel that didn't turn up and it was a small one....

What drives me nuts with USPS or UPS for that matter is that when tracking a package it will go all over before getting to my door. It's not uncommon to track a package from say Michigan or Wisconsin and instead of it coming straight to me it'll go south to a sort facility in Indy then back north to me. Or maybe start in Ohio, go across Indiana then Illinois to a sort facility in Missouri then back to me in Indiana.

Just spent 6 #$%*en hours on the #$%*en mower and now the #$%*en bities are at large the #$%*en #$%*s.
I was tungin' for a #$%*en Corona and there was only 2 left in the #$%*en fridge.
#$%* it.

Luckily, I've still got my bottle of Captain Damage Wild Turkey so I might give that some #$%*.
So anyway, after the #$%*en mowing was done and the stinken hot sun had #$%*ed off, I did some more on the #$%*en Wang front end with the #$%*en buzzin' bities making a #$%* of 'emselves.

I set one of the discs up in the lathe to give it a bit of a clean up, and some#$%* has bent the #$%*en outside edge with a #$%*en screwdriver trying to retract a siezed caliper piston.

Jeezus Christ, #$%* my brown dog.
Well I reckon that I can sort it out but it's pissed me off. ;D

Don't stress Mick, there are a gazillion GL1000 discs available on eBay for cheap, and like 750 discs, they don't wear out. Are you gonna rebuild your calipers too? If so let me know and I'll put you onto some cheap rebuild kits and cheap new brake pistons.

I'm pissed off that I've finally got my bike back together after installing the GL1000 front end, and it's bloody raining! I mean, yeah, it's great that the bushfires are getting put out by the rain, but all I wanted was one nice dry Sunday so I could take the thing for a ride?

I can't even take a pic because I can't find my camera since Phillip Island, and I fear that I've somehow packed it up inside my tent? Bugger! ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

I'll rebuild the calipers mate if I can find 'em.
They're in a box somewhere.
I bought some caliper kits from David Silvers ages ago and got the calipers stripped and cleaned up ready to go, but then something else came along and they got put on the backburner.
I've got some new pistons for a Toyota that are the same diameter and need about 20mm cut off of the height and a dust boot groove machined into 'em.
They cost somewhere about 25 or 30 bucks each.

I got the lump out of the disc and I'll set them up on the hub with the bearings and axle and run a dial gauge over 'em and see if there is any excess runout.

The fork legs got a coat of Duplicolor Silver Caliper Paint that Eric put me onto and they look a lot better now after that Chevy Rally Silver that made 'em look a bit "Limp Wristed"  ;D
The hub got a coat of Duplicolor Aluminium Engine Enamel and I reckon that's good enough for the bush.  ;D

Before the missus sprung me with the Visa Card and going on a spending spree, I ordered a couple of DID rims from Yamiya on Friday.
They were 96 bucks each and the freight was 70 bucks.
Initially the freight was about 140 bucks but I had some Yamiya "Frequent Flyer" points from previous purchases which I used to save a few bucks.  ;D

If I was you
I'd be worried about me.
