Me too Pete, used to see the Angels regularly at Cronulla workers and Bankstown RSL, usually with Rose tattoo , Kevin Borich or the Radiators. The first songs I ever played on guitar were angels songs, might have to get out the greatest hits and have a jam, "Take me away to Marseilles".... RIP Doc... :'(

Here's one of his songs off his last album with his band Red Phoenix....

Yesterday I bought a new battery for the Quad Bike which is supposed to be the Ducks Guts of batteries capable of valve bouncing the donk on the starter.  ;D
So I took it out of the box and checked it out which all looked good.
It's got Jacksonville Fl USA written on it and some warning about getting cancer from the fcuka so I was happy about that.

I'm thinking to myself, this must be one of the few things that isn't made in fcuking China.
Anyway, I put it the Quad and she fired up immediately on a flick of the starter button.
You bloody beauty, she's a rip snorta.

I packed up my tools and put the seat back onto the Quad, then grabbed the empty battery box and chucked it in the bin.
Only to see what was written on the bottom of the box.
MADE IN CHINA
You #$%*en dirty #$%*, they hid it on me.

That did piss me off when I saw that.  ;D

If I was you
I'd be worried about me.

I have one of those in my 650, touch wood over 3 years and never had to touch it.  Never seen a charger, even fired the bike up a couple of weeks ago after it had been sitting since before christmas.  ;D

They're supposed to be right up there in the battery dept Andrew.
I know that the price was but that doesn't worry me if it lasts and maintains the cranking power.
The last one lasted a couple of years but it needed an occasional shot on the charger in the meantime.

Now the Quad fires on the first flick with a dead cold engine which it never did before.
If I was you
I'd be worried about me.

Those Motobatt batteries are good Mick, I did some work on a blokes bike last year and he had one, and even though the bike hadn't been ridden in 3 or 4 months, it still had enough charge left in it to fire it up.

Disuse kills batteries more than anything else, and most of my bikes only get ridden now and then, so I bought several Optimate 4 chargers, and I have them permanently hooked up, and they're brilliant.

The battery in my Triumph is 7 years old, and is in perfect condition, and as the Optimate's can desulphate and charge totally discharged batteries, I was able to recharge the battery in my FJ1200, even though the bike shop told me that it was stuffed.

My ride-on mower hadn't had a run in the last 12 months and the battery that I bought for it in 2009 was as flat as Rolf Harris' girlfriend and my poor old Arlec charger couldn't bring it back to life, so I hooked it up to the Optimate 4 and after 24 hours, it was good again.

I guess it sounds like I'm an agent for Optimate chargers, but I'm not, and that pisses me off, it's just that before I bought one I used to chuck out bike batteries every 12 months, and it's good that I haven't had to throw a battery away for a couple of years now. Cheers, Terry. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

That will be the next thing that I get mate - A good battery charger.
I've had this old Arlec for probably close on 20 years but it's got about as much kick as a dead mule.

I think I fcuked it when I dechromed a set of Tranzac head pipes with my Julius Sumner Miller anode/cathode sodium chloride bubble bath.
It ripped the chome off back to a copper coat but the Arlec hasn't been the same ever since.
The ol' Bunnings White Knight Hi Temp BBQ black paint stuck onto the headpipes ok afterwards.

I got that Tranzac bloke to make a couple of new megs for me a few years ago when I saw him in Qld.
You have to tell him that that you want the old style removable baffles in 'em otherwise they come with those poof baffles that don't bark at full song and attract the the attention of the constabulary.

After 2 nights of looking, I found a spare set of steering head bearings to set up the Wang forks in the 750 frame.
I want to check the clearance with the tank on lock to lock.

That'll be a tomorrow job now after a 6 pack of Coronas.  ;D

If I was you
I'd be worried about me.

No worries Mick, as you know, I've got the GL1000 front end on my K1 and can tell you that the fork to tank clearance is zero as the steering stops are further apart on the GL1000 lower triples. I've thought about glueing some little rubber plugs between the lower triple stops and the frame stop, but of course, that'd be cutting into my drinking time, so I haven't bothered. Cheers, Terry. ;D

Geez it's bugger all mate.
A 50 thou packer between the stops gives about 1/8" clearance between the fork tube and tank.
So I reckon that another 1/8" each side on the frame stopper will do the trick.

Anyway, I've decided to take your advise mate.
Fcuk this, it's hooking into valuable drinking time now which is pissin' me off.  ;D
If I was you

I'm now totally pi$$ed with English weather, specially summer. Been cruising the canals in the old country for a week now and have hardly seen the sun. This arvo after another day of rain, the sun comes out. Bewdy, its 1730 so time to moor up our narrowboat and break open a bottle of Aussie Hardy's 2012 cab sav, some cheese and crackers, kick back and relax in the sun. Had a quick shower first. By the time we gets the plonk and bikkies out, in come the clouds and it starts freakin' rainin' again. Geez. As if we haven't had enough to put up with already.
A week ago we stayed with my cousin in London for a few days, he had a cold and passed it on to us, so, for the last few days I've been waking up in the morning with a cough that sounds like a 5 pack a day nicotine addict, coughin' up great gobs of greenies. Not only does that pi$$ me of but I cop an earbashin' from the missus for waking her up. Not only that but early this arvo I gets a case of the trots. Stuff me! It's 1900 and the bloody sun's out again. Did I say English weather pi$$es me off?

You not enjoying our English climate Krusty? ;D

I know what you mean mate. Took the dog out this morning in glorious sunshine, within twenty minutes we got caught in the open in a fukcing thunderstorm. Felt sorry for the old boy with hailstones bouncing off his head!

And yes, we were both pissed off!

Ha ha, I spent a few months in Britain and Europe back in 1974, and apart from almost getting blown up by friggin' terrorists on several occasions, it was pretty much uneventful.

I was over there at this time of year too (went home in September) and the weather varied from friggin' cold to barely acceptable, but what surprised me the most was how much better the weather was when we left Britain and went over to France, it was quite pleasant, and this continued on through Belgium, Germany, Austria, Holland, Swtzerland, etc.

Northern Ireland was probably the worst though, wet, cold, miserable weather, and (probably because of the political situation) the people were just as pissed off............. ;D

Good to see nothing has changed over there.  The missus and I spent just over 3 weeks over there, visiting her old man, 18 months ago.  We only saw the sun for 3 days out of the 3 weeks, and it was cold as hell to boot.  ;D
