Holy cow , I've been running this recent conversation through my head all day, I'm not just pissed off but terrified.
Filters in these bodies (Air and oil) would be an awful thing to have to replace for sure, but it's the leaking seals that's got my goat, and no NOS to replace them. So what my understanding here is, even if you know where every comfort station is in a two hour radius it doesn't matter because there are no mechanics available to change those seals once they start weeping....and the tell tale marks left behind is just nature's way of telling us about an " O"ring that's wearing out...is there a direct relationship to that and a blown head gasket soon?
It seems we have to find out about life from older guys on the street like you, even at this age. So I'm counting on you guys to give us the poop on the poop... does this stuff happen before 60,000 miles or closer to 70,000 ? And do you know if it happens to the fairer of the breed at the same interval? Just trying to gauge how much sh1t I might have to put up with.
