The smoker has a gas burner in the bottom, just above that there is a woodchip tray and above that is a water tray.  Works a treat, gives about an hour and a half of smoke from a tray of hardwood shavings.

Also who tried to tell you that crownies are beer, they are in the same category as VB and bitberger, overpriced cats piss. ;D

Thanks Andrew, I'll keep my eye out for an Aldi smoker. What's "bitberger"? I've never really been a fan of any beer to be honest, I've drunk (and have been drunk) on every major Aussie brand and many OS beers as well, and the common denominator (to me)  is that they're ALL over priced cats piss.

Sorry, but I'd much rather have a good scotch, or even a nice cider. Interstate rivalry pisses me off too, I couldn't give a fcuk where a brand of beer is brewed, if I liked it I'd drink it, but I haven't found one I really like yet, so it's still just overpriced cats piss to me.............. ;D

Bitburger is a German beer, it would be the worst beer I've ever had, even worse than the green death.  The best way to describe the flavour is it tastes like flowers.  I can't describe it any other way.

I personally like Coopers, one of the best Aussie beers made in my opinion, even if it is from SA.  ;D

Yep, I've got a mate who loves Coopers, I've tried it and it was better than some I've tried, but once again, it's only beer.

I'm pissed off with the missus today, I saw a 1994 Subaru Liberty AWD twin turbo on Gumtree for $1000 "Negotiable", so I told her I wanted to buy it, it's straighter than my amazing 450 dollar front wheel drive Liberty, (Legacy in the US) has only done 140,000 Km (90,000 miles) and he's selling it because it has an overheating problem.

Andrew told me how to fix this problem with my car last year, and it's run like a bird ever since. I realised what the problem was when I saw that he'd just replaced the radiator (and hence, has an airlock behind the thermostat) so unless he's blown a head gasket (possible, but it's an EJ20 engine and they were much less likely to do this than the later EJ25) it's an easy fix. I told the missus and she couldn't understand what a bargain it is, and waffled on about how I change my cars and bikes like I change my undies, blah blah blah, and by the time she came crawling back, I'd lost interest.

I'm sulking at the moment, and I don't think it's working, and that pisses me off too................ ;D

I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Yeah mate, apart from the missus pissing me off this morning, one concern I have is that he listed it a month ago and hasn't sold it yet? Are you (and I, thanks to you) the only people in Oz that know how to fix the overheating issue? Still he doesn't live far from where I work, so I might drop around tomorrow after work and check it out.................. ;D

I think we might be Terry ;D , would be interesting to see what it's like.  Even if it is the head gasket they aren't that hard to do, I'm still to see one fail on the EJ20's, and I've seen them boiling like a kettle.  ;D

Thanks Andrew, I rang him twice today, but my calls went straight to his voice mail. I've sent him a message via Gumtree just now, so here's hoping he's still got it.

I'm pissed off today because I checked my bank account and I saw that "Insure My Ride" have taken 91 bucks out of my account when I thought that I'd cancelled all of my bike insurance with them, and I re-insured my bikes with Shannon's via Pete a couple of weeks ago. I'll ring them tomorrow and ask them nicely to give me back my money........ ;D

Go and get it!!! That ride appears to be in MUCH better shape than the rusty/crusty water bottle.
I only fear that once you fix it, your misses will take possession of it and that will piss you off.

He he, well I did............ I drove over after work, the car was at the seller's uncle's place, and had been sitting in his yard for a year since the overheating problem took it off the road. The uncle, Robert, is a top bloke, so after looking it over I asked him how "negotiable" the $1000 asking price was, and he said, "How about $500?"

How could I say no? I did ask him to ring his nephew and ask if that was OK, though, and he did, and his nephew said he'd be happy to get it out of his uncle's yard. Robert offered to deliver it to my place if I hired a tandem trailer, so we went and got the trailer, drove the Subaru onto it, and Robert followed me over to my place. I gave Robert $50.00 for some beers, and I had to almost force him to take it! It's now sitting in my front yard, and tomorrow I'll get underneath it (geez I wish I had a car hoist.........) and see what's up with the cooling system.

I'm trying to think of something to be pissed off about, but so far, I'm good........... ;D

Thanks Andrew, it's running on all 4 cylinders, but there's water coming out from somewhere underneath. I'm hoping it's a hose, but if it's a head gasket, then so be it.............. ;D

Is that what passes for haggling in Oz ? Same purchase in France would take hours. In Morocco it would be days, but you might end up getting a camel thrown in.

Thanks guys, I was shocked at the "negotiable" price too. I was hoping to get it for around 800, but to be honest, I would have paid the $1000, and had it in my wallet just in case. I asked how many other people had come to look at it, and Robert told me I was the first one, because when Peter advertised it, he listed his old mobile phone number.

He bought a new phone around the same time and forgot to change the number on the advert, which explains why he didn't answer my calls, and it was only because I sent him an email that he knew I was interested. I guess that was why there were over 1000 visits to the Gumtree advert, and no takers? I was pissed off when he didn't answer my calls, but I'm not now.............. ;D

Supervisors that don't take responsibility for their actions really piss me off. We've got a supervisor at work that has a reputation of making bad calls when asked important questions. Many times our prints are vague or just don't add up regarding dimensions or weld symbols so the question always arises "do they want it this way or that way?". My particular supervisor has no problem going to the front office and asking the engineers for an answer if he himself doesn't know the answer but our other supervisor thinks he's smart (he's dumber than a box of rocks, how he made supervisor nobody knows) so rather than asking engineering to find out for sure he'll just say do it that way. Well more times that not he's wrong and when our welding inspectors come around to inspect pieces, they'll "red tag" a piece which is basically saying something is wrong and it needs to be fixed and they'll put whoever it was initials that's responsible for the screw up on that red tag. Well our inspectors have gotten to the point that they're sick and tired of finding out that a mistake was due to a bad call by this particular supervisor so now they're putting that supervisors initials on the red tag ..... and he's none too happy about it. Rather than man up and admit his mistakes he instead feels we as in us fitters and welders are backstabbing him so he made it clear today that at the start of the year he's going to be a dick from now on. I'm really not looking forward to next Monday.

Happy New Year all from wet and rainy Darwin.
The ol' monsoon has finally arrived here and it's been hammering down with rain.

Well I fired up the barbie for lunch and then I realised that it was already 1pm after we'd eaten the tucker.
Everyone was happy and content and so I said to the missus, Do you realise that I haven't had a cold beer this year and aren't you proud of me?

She looked at me and said nothin'.
All I got was this non gratuitous look with a screwed up nose and that pissed me right fcuken off.  ;D

Have a great 2015 men.  ;D

Happy New Year everyone! Well I spent a couple of hours scrubbing the mould off the little white beastie, then jump started it, (the battery's on the charger now, but I'm not holding out much hope for a full recovery) and took it for a belt around the block. FAAARK! It goes pretty fcuking well indeed! I haven't checked for the source of the water leak yet, I've gotta buy a new trolley jack so I can get under it, my old jack is knackered.

Anyway, I parked it, then rang the RACV. My son's old Falcoon gave up the ghost on Tuesday night and he had to get it towed home. The RACV mechanic was scratching his head a bit, the battery (which is only a year old) wasn't holding a charge, but the little sight glass thingy was still glowing green? He surmised that one or more of the other cells must have schidt themselves, so he got the RACV battery bloke over to install a new battery. (for $190, ouch!)

It's got an oil leak too, and Tim isn't too flash at checking the oil, so I drove it over to Supercheap Auto and bought some oil, some STP stop leak, and a funnel, and topped it up in the car park. It was a nice day, so I went for a cruise in the ol' EL, and ended up at the Craigeburn Sporting Club for some cold ciders and a go on the poker machines. Had no luck on the pokies, so drove home and fired up the BBQ and burned some snags and burgers, washed down with a couple of Chivas and Cokes, all in all, a good New Years Day!

Oh, and batteries that schidt themselves after only a year piss me off................ ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.
