Happy New Year everyone! Well I spent a couple of hours scrubbing the mould off the little white beastie, then jump started it, (the battery's on the charger now, but I'm not holding out much hope for a full recovery) and took it for a belt around the block. FAAARK! It goes pretty fcuking well indeed! I haven't checked for the source of the water leak yet, I've gotta buy a new trolley jack so I can get under it, my old jack is knackered.
Anyway, I parked it, then rang the RACV. My son's old Falcoon gave up the ghost on Tuesday night and he had to get it towed home. The RACV mechanic was scratching his head a bit, the battery (which is only a year old) wasn't holding a charge, but the little sight glass thingy was still glowing green? He surmised that one or more of the other cells must have schidt themselves, so he got the RACV battery bloke over to install a new battery. (for $190, ouch!)
It's got an oil leak too, and Tim isn't too flash at checking the oil, so I drove it over to Supercheap Auto and bought some oil, some STP stop leak, and a funnel, and topped it up in the car park. It was a nice day, so I went for a cruise in the ol' EL, and ended up at the Craigeburn Sporting Club for some cold ciders and a go on the poker machines. Had no luck on the pokies, so drove home and fired up the BBQ and burned some snags and burgers, washed down with a couple of Chivas and Cokes, all in all, a good New Years Day!
Oh, and batteries that schidt themselves after only a year piss me off................
