1F this morning and the electricity is being burned up at a staggering rate to try and keep this dump above 65F.
It is supposed to almost hit 30F later today, I have work to do in the shop and it is going to be too cold to go for a ride.
All of that, PISSES ME OFF!!!

Happy new Year to all around the world.

Eric
Is there anything more fun than riding? They are between your legs and are quiet when you turn them off.

my wife rang me up yesterday to tell the aircon at the house is pissing water down from inside and she has buckets and towels under it,i tell her to find the condensate drain hose outside it might be blocked, she couldn't unblock it so I went home and tried blasting a little water up it,all this crud came glugging out, still pissing water inside so I do it harder and make it worse inside, then I got the vacuum cleaner and gave it a good suction session and man all this stinking brown puke with a little dead lizard came blasting through, fixed it!lizards that make their home in my aircon piss me off!

Happy New Year all from wet and rainy Darwin.
The ol' monsoon has finally arrived here and it's been hammering down with rain.

Well I fired up the barbie for lunch and then I realised that it was already 1pm after we'd eaten the tucker.
Everyone was happy and content and so I said to the missus, Do you realise that I haven't had a cold beer this year and aren't you proud of me?

She looked at me and said nothin'.
All I got was this non gratuitous look with a screwed up nose and that pissed me right fcuken off.  ;D

Have a great 2015 men.  ;D
So I'm guessing you said fcuk it and knocked the top off one....or more  ;D
YEP, Guilty as charged your Honour.
And highly likely to reoffend.  ;D
If I was you
I'd be worried about me.

Same thing happened to the old Emailair Split Aircon that I had here years ago Dave.
One of my daughters was watching a movie around Xmas time and then the big water spray came out of the vents all over her.

So I took the front of it and the polystyrene water channel was full of dusty fluff sh1t that had blocked up the outlet for the drain.

And there was a fried green tree frog that looked like a pretzel arced up across the power contacts.  ;D

I'd be worried about me.

Well I'm stumped. As it's gonna be 41 deg C (105.8 F in the ancient language of the Druids) I wanted to make an early start before it got too hot, so I headed out to the driveway to attack the little white beastie's cooling system.

As you'll recall, I bought it from the PO for the princely sum of 500 bucks because it had an overheating issue that had forced him to take it off the road. When I inspected the car, there was water coming out from under the car, so I expected an issue of some degree.

I jacked it up and had a look underneath, and apart from some oil around the filter I couldn't see much that was out of place, so I pulled the top radiator hose and filled the engine block with tap water, (not much point pouring new coolant into it if it's just going to pour out again) reconnected the hose, topped the radiator up, and fired it up.

Basically, it just ran sweetly for an hour in my driveway without dropping any water, and the temp gauge needle didn't even come up to the the halfway mark? I grabbed the bottom hose to see if it was hot (if it was cold that would indicate that there was an airlock behind the thermostat, which was the problem with my other Subaru before Andrew told me how to fix it) and it was nice and hot, so I sat and watched it until I surmised that there wasn't much of an issue with it, and shut it off.

The PO had installed a new radiator, but I don't know if that was before or after the overheating issue, so it could be as simple as him not knowing how to properly "burp" the cooling system on a Subaru engine, or there could be something more troublesome lurking in the bowels of my engine bay. Once the missus pisses off up to the shops and I can take it for a lap around the block I'll get a better indication of the problem, it looks like it could do with a new radiator cap, but apart from that, I can't find very much wrong with it? Interesting................ ;D

Here you go Krusty, it's a 1994 Liberty AWD with a WRX twin turbo engine. I don't know much about it yet, so I can't tell you which model WRX the engine came out of, except to say that I believe it was originally a turbo car, but the engine's been replaced in the last 3 or 4 years. Cheers, Terry. ;D

G'Day Steve, a "hoon" is a derogatory term for a person who drives like a maniac, usually in a hotted up car. I don't drive like a maniac, but turbo Subaru's are popular with "hoons". Cheers, Terry. :)

Bushfires piss me off.
Major fires in adelaide hills currently, a couple of friends have had to evacuate, very scary. Already several homes lost.
Allegedly all started by some cockhead burning rubbish on a 42c day.....burn him alive I say. >:(
Kudos to the volunteers out there fighting the fires.

The fires have been on the news here Pete.
Hoping that the firies get it under control as soon as they can.

We had a bloody big scorcher rip through the bush near home a few months back right at the peak of fire season.
Apparently our native brothers decided to cook a fcuking kangaroo or a fcuking goanna for lunch down in the creek bed and up she went.
It was a big bastard too.

Usually what they do is to light a fire on the lounge room floor in their "sponsored" houses and burn their own joints down.
Pisses me off that they don't do more often.  ;D

I can remember when Dad squeezed the tube of Brylcreem onto his toothbrush by mistake and started scrubbing the ol' choppers.
He was coughing that much that his eyeballs were just about bouncing off of the tap handles on the hand basin.

Quite agree. Didn't want to wake the missus the other night doing my nightly topical application so had to do it in the dark without a mirror to guide me in.

I actually think the Colgate works better! ;D

Well rather than take an illegal lap around the block yesterday, I spent $78 and bought an "Unregistered Vehicle Permit" so I could "test drive" it, and took the little white beastie for a blat up the freeway. I figured that as it was over 100 deg C, a 30 mile drive would confirm my suspicion that I had a blown head gasket on one cylinder bank.

As expected, the temp gauge came up pretty quickly, so I parked it around in the back of a big Shell service station and had lunch at Hungry Jack's (Burger King) while I waited for it to cool down. As I was walking out, I saw that they had 24 packs of 600 mil (1 pint) bottles of water for 7 bucks, so I bought one, and tipped the first 10 bottles into the radiator! (oops.......)

Anyway, I went to start it and the battery decided that it was a good opportunity to fail. Hmmmmnnn. I walked back around to the servo and discovered that they don't sell batteries, so I bought a set of jumper leads instead, in the hope that I could convince someone to donate some volts.

While I was sitting in the car, slowly melting in the 106 degree F (according to my iPhone) temps, I wondered about the lost art of push starting. My car was parked on a slight (very slight) incline, so I opened the drivers door, pushed it backwards with one foot, got a bit of a roll going, put it in reverse and dumped the clutch, and Varoom! I was away.

It didn't overheat on the freeway, but as I got off the freeway and back into traffic, the temp gauge did come up the 3/4 mark, and it started misfiring, and by the time I got home, it was running on 2 cylinders, and once I did an inspection I noticed that there was a creamy substance floating in the radiator overflow tank. Poop. I retired into the cool of the house, and sank numerous cold drinks to rehydrate.........

I was trawling thru eBay last night and there are a few WRX engines for sale, and one wrecking yard nearby has a "good running engine" for sale, and they offer installation (for extra, obviously) so I've messaged them to ask how much it'll cost to have my engine pulled out, and theirs installed, and what sort of warranty they offer, etc. If it's not too savage I might just get them to do it, pulling engines out of cars pisses me off............ ;D
