today I learned that a swan who has resided in our local park / ponds was accidentally killed in the park's parking lot.

Swanee was a great treat to see and interact with at the park ... she will be sorely missed.

Sounds like my trips to the Bathurst Easter TT's, anyone remember them? Oh, and I saw Cold Chisel live at Bathurst at the TT in 1985, with the Choir Boys as the warmup act, then afterwards the riot at the police compound, geez, what a great night! 

But we did spot a couple of clowns walking around with toilet rolls half an hour later, so we belted the fcuk out of them just to make Ev feel a bit better about losing some of her hair.

They ran through somebody's camp trying to get away and got another toweling.

In America they put out a shoot to kill order for arsonists in the Chicago riots.  I guess you'd have to have a problem of no a gun to shoot an arsonist there .

I was at a bike show recently, and saw a girl getting on a bike so her boyfriend could take a picture -- without asking the owner, of course! I told them that they should ask before doing that and they looked at me strange and asked why. I said, "Would you mind it if someone you didn't know got in your parked car?" Same thing.  It's "PERSONAL" property.  Get it? 

I don't know why people think they can climb all over you bike and not give to craps if they damage it.

DeWalt have just released their newly designed nail gun.
Apparently, it's that good that you can sit on the lawn with a nice cold beer and nail your front fence together from 200 yards.
I want one but I haven't got one and that pisses me off.

Ha ha, well it wasn't me or my mate Pete Brian, we'd walked out of the concert at the Skyline Ampi-theatre around the back of the police compound just as the riot squad came out the rear of the building with their shields and wacking sticks, so Pete and I took a wide berth and wandered back to our bikes and tents, and watched the riot from a safe distance.

I was there in 1983 (on my K1) 1985 (XT500) and 1987. (Harley Sportster) '83 and '85 had riots, ('83 when the VW Beetle was "end for ended" up to the police compound and set on fire, and '85 when the Channel 7 film crew parked the Falcon wagon in the middle of the donut ring and challenged the "boys" to create a news headline for them) but '87 was dead, and the last TT at Bathurst sadly.

Riots aside, there has never been a motorcycle event as enjoyable as the Bathurst TT which is a shame, it was one hell of a weekend!

Fidi, Oz isn't America, we don't need guns to solve every problem, they're available (I own a couple) but Brian's solution is a lot smarter. Cheers, Terry.

I used to own a Swan.
It was one of those Chromed fcukas mounted onto the bonnet of the ol' FC Holden.
Fcuk, I loved that Swan.

It is unfortunate to hear of Swanees demise.
I did like the chrome swan that I use to have and so did a few others who thought that it would look better on their cars.
Back in those days, a chrome swan was like a fashion accessory that was bolted on.
A fox tail on the aerial was another hot item.

Back in the 1970's my mate Pete was a bit of a Hippy, and apart from riding around on his old Suzuki T500 Cobra (before I convinced him to buy a CB750) he drove the slowest Kombi in fcuking Australia. He drove me from my home town to Melbourne one Easter Monday (180 miles) and it took 6 fcuking hours, God knows why Kombi's are a fcuking fashion item now, unless they're running Subaru WRX engines, they're just a mobile fcuking Chicane!

But I digress. He shared a house in the leafy (read: Expensive) suburb of Canterbury, and the local kids liked Pete's old Green Kombi with the Hippy art so much that one of them presented Pete with the "Flying Lady" off one of Pete's neighbour's Rollers. It didn't do much for the old Zombie's performance, but I bet it pissed Pete's neighbour off!

Nope, Aussie beers are on average about 20% stronger than Canadian and US beers, so you've probably just got a low tolerance to alcohol.

I believe that American and Canadian Indians (and certainly Australian Aboriginals) have a low tolerance to alcohol, are you by chance of Native Canadian extraction?

Of course, women also have a low tolerance to alcohol too, so maybe if you're not an Indian, you've just got high levels of oestrogen?

You Aussies are good for comic relief...I can hit the target with iron sights, I just like to be able to hit smaller areas, and my Mark 1 eyeballs aren't what they used to be, so a scope helps.  But I'm sure all you manly Aussies can drop a person at 100 yards with a slingshot, or a boomerang, or throwing a pint of Foster's, or whatever...
