My son's pissed off at the moment. Had his Forester XT serviced at a Subaru service centre and also needed a pink slip. He knew that it needed a new new headlight bulb but rather than do it himself he let it go until the service. Turns out that this model XT has a special type of headlight bulb. Charged him $230 for it and also a fist full of dollars to fit it, not a 5 minutes job. Luckily he earns good money and could afford the bill. The full bill for the service pink slip, bulb, consumables etc as nearabouts $900.
The missus is getting her Forester Diesel serviced today, shudder.

He's American mate... ;D  Whats laughable is that you are a colored man, you people were treated the same way you treat Gay people, there was a time where women couldn't vote or have a say, Foreigners were slaves, and you openly promote this behavior. People like you are a sad indictment on society and whats even sadder is that you teach it to your kids.... Like Cal said, no one is listening to your unpopular minority bigoted view, don't be so surprised... ::)

Yeah mate, when you have to take your car to a "pro", you just have to accept that you have no choice but to bend over and grab your ankles.

I took my new (but 20 year old) Liberty in for a Vic Roadworthy last week, I'd replaced all four discs and pads and changed the fluids and reckoned it looked OK, so was a bit taken aback when they needed to replace the windscreen and found oil leaks from the rocker covers, crank and cam seals, (I had it sitting in my carport idling for an hour while I fcuked about with it and there were no oil spots on the concrete) a torn steering knuckle boot, sway bar bushes etc. All up, $1530, ouch!

No matter, I've learned the hard way that asking for a roadworthy inspection gives them a license to do whatever they think they can get away with, so I just play the game.

I bought a neat set of stainless headers for it on Gumtree a couple of weeks ago and rang the local exhaust place to get them fitted (not a hard job, only 8 bolts, but I don't have a hoist and crawling around the concrete driveway in this weather doesn't appeal) and the bloke I spoke to was horrified, he said they were probably made in China and wouldn't fit properly (no, they're actually made in Japan for a specialist Subaru performance shop) and he didn't want to touch them (read: wanted to sell me a set of his Chinese headers) so even though I also wanted a new tail pipe and muffler fitted, he wasn't interested.

So I rang Ravi (the roadworthy bloke) and he's happy to install them and source me the rest of the 'zorst system, which is good because he's closer anyway. I remembered when I was driving in the rain that he's charged me for new wiper heads but hasn't actually fit them, so I'll make mention of that tomorrow when I take the car in to get the exhaust done, it's bad enough being held hostage by repair shops, but not getting what you pay for pisses me off............ ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Ah yes a live one, I wonder if he's 15 yet, many many years ago I had somewhat the same attitude, but I started to see a little of life and begun to realize that live and let live is easier to deal with than I'm a macho man, I was 17 at the time and it was a different time, then her majesty's service with my fathers help invited me for a brief sojourn, a vacation as it were from the reality of small city life as a teenager and whilst in, it became even more apparent that minding my own business was a rule to live by so unless some one attacked me I made few or no comments about social arrangements after leaving the employ of the government I went to university and got involved with live theater, fascinating and met some extremely bright intelligent people who were for want of a better phrase "howling homosexuals" I was fine with that because it left more of fluffy young things around for me "aah yes my dear he is really quite  handsome, intelligent, and so on but he is queerer than a 3 dollar bill, while I am not" another glass of wine perhaps?" so I go back to live and let live.

The bloke who convinced me to retire from the Army 14 years ago was an Air Force Officer who would have fallen into Bill's definition of a "screaming Homosexual". Of course, the Air Force is the place to go if you're of that persuasion, they've even adopted the old Navy motto, "We never leave our mates behind"................. ;D

What made me laugh most about SoCal's concerns (apart from his miserable marksmanship) were that of all the things you apparently need to protect yourself from in the US, (Mafia, gang bangers, 1% bikers, KKK, serial killers, loonies with guns, armed home invaders, pissed off postal workers, rogue government agents, zombies, etc etc) his number one priority target is probably the most harmless group of folks imaginable?

I mean, unless he fights as bad as he shoots, (the term "fights like a girl" comes to mind) I really don't think he's in much danger? ;D

Aliens piss me off.  >:(

the other night I was just walking in my back yard looking at the stars, when out of space this alien ship landed
and asked for directions. i was so surprised i totally forgot to take a picture with the camera I had in my hand.

now no one believes me about the little blue man. (little green men are just not that common in the universe)

wow, that was some good weed, dude.

What pisses me off about gay guys is that all the hottest looking women want to hang out with them rather than me. :) I have a cousin who's gay and I swear most of his friends are some of the finest looking ladies I've seen. I once told him that I was beginning wonder if all his gayness was just an act so he could hang out with these ladies.

I knew a guy in university that wasn't gay but claimed he was so he could prey on the fluffies  I was curious about how it  went but I think he wound up to use a crudity knocking up a young lady and marrying her I did see her later and unfortunately she went to the"two axe handles and a can of snuse" route so he wouldn't have been a happy camper serves him right the cheesy bastard.

Sounds like my trips to the Bathurst Easter TT's, anyone remember them? Oh, and I saw Cold Chisel live at Bathurst at the TT in 1985, with the Choir Boys as the warmup act, then afterwards the riot at the police compound, geez, what a great night!  ;D

But we did spot a couple of clowns walking around with toilet rolls half an hour later, so we belted the fcuk out of them just to make Ev feel a bit better about losing some of her hair.

They ran through somebody's camp trying to get away and got another toweling. ;D

Cheers,
Brian
In America they put out a shoot to kill order for arsonists in the Chicago riots.  I guess you'd have to have a problem of no a gun to shoot an arsonist there .

We try not shoot people down here Fiddy, it kills em.

Cheers,
Brian

The other side of the coin is that arsonists kill people , too.

That one's called a Box Jellyfish Bill.
We get 'em a lot when the tropical heat (Wet Season) starts kicking in and the sea water temps increase.

I put a 14mm master cylinder on the GL1000 today, me and the kid riding the apparently no brake having bicycle that shot off a sidestreet and rode right in front of me are both glad I did. I kept turning away and he kept leading my turn staying right in my path. Finally my rear wheel locked and I think that woke him up. It looked like Target Fixation to me. He could have turned right and went behind me  but just kept coming and looking right at me.

I think Bills referring to the blue ringed octopus mate

Quote
The bite might be painless, but this octopus injects a neuromuscular paralysing venom. The venom contains some maculotoxin, a poison more violent than any found on land animals. The nerve conduction is blocked and neuromuscular paralysis is followed by death. The victim might be saved if artificial respiration starts before marked cyanosis and hypotension develops. The blue-ringed octopus is the size of a golf ball but its poison is powerful enough to kill an adult human in minutes. There's no known antidote. The only treatment is hours of heart massage and artificial respiration until the poison has worked its way out of your system.

The venom contains tetrodotoxin, which blocks sodium channels and causes motor paralysis and occasionally respiratory failure. Though with fixed dilated pupils, the senses of the patients are often intact. The victims are aware but unable to respond.
