Hmmmnn, well I've survived all winter without even a hint of a cold, and this week I started my new job in Canberra, and the woman I did the "Handover" with, was coughing and spluttering all fcuking week. And now I've got a fcuking sore throat. Useless fcuking bumfronts who snort and dribble and cough and splutter piss me off........... ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Know what you mean mate.
Usually, I'm the last fcuka to pick a bug up from all of the self proclaimed healthy, non, smoking, non alcohol comsuming, live for ever fcukas who spray snot germs all over ther joint.

The thing is, and this is how I've analysed the problem, if you get a few Wild Turkeys into the system on a regular basis, well, then the fcuking bugs gets pissed and fall off the perch.

For reasons unknown, no bastard believes it and that pisses me off.  ;D

If I was you
I'd be worried about me.

The ol' mate got this skin disorder called Pemphigus (Spell Check) a few years ago and the specialist put him on a permanent course of medication.
Part of the deal was that he wasn't to consume any alcohol.
Well, that didn't last very long after the ol' mate became a depression sufferer.
His Mum had passed away in the meantime in her late 80's and that compounded things a bit.

So, the solution to the issue was good ol' Home Brewed Beer.
Instead of using sugar in the brew, the ol' mate used honey and things were on the improve at a fair rate of knots.
He's going along pretty good now but he can't remember fcuk all that happened 5 minutes ago.

Either way, he's happy now and if his missus revs him up, he can't remember what she said and that pisses her off.  ;D

I've worked hard over the years to be able to forget what my mrs tells me, and that pisses her off. And selective deafness is a wonderful tool. Unfortunately she's also very good at that, and that pisses me off.
So glad I'm pissed off again about something, I was starting to doubt myself ::)

My natural curiosity vs caution pisses me off. The distance from my place to Canberra is about 650Km. I'm driving my little "Rally Roo" to and from, and it's averaging around 11 Km per litre. (33 MPG) The fuel gauge doesn't work, which is common for that model apparently (I have the same problem with the twin turbo beastie) but I just zero the trip meter when I fill it up, like I do with my bikes.

I left Canberra yesterday with around 130 Km travelled since I fuelled it up in Yass on the way in on Tuesday, so I reckoned that I would fill it up again at the BP service centre near Glenrowan, but the joint was closed for renovations? Oops, by this stage the odometer was sitting on 550 Kms, and the next fuel stop was in Benalla, another 30 Km down the road. There wasn't much I could do to conserve fuel as I'd already set the cruise control at slightly above the speed limit anyway, it was cold, so the aircon wasn't on, so I thought about turning the internal fan and lights off, but it was getting dark, so for safety's sake I just continued on. I briefly thought about pulling the seats and luggage out to reduce weight, but decided that this was probably too extreme.........

As it turned out, when I filled it up, it had only used 51.5 litres, and the 'Roo has a 60 litre tank, so technically, I could drive from my place to Canberra on one tank full, but I have a natural (or perhaps unnatural) fear of running out of juice. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy to stop and get fuel when I need to as it's a good idea to have regular breaks on any long drive, but my curiosity keeps sneaking out and whispering in my ear, "C'mon Big T, give it a go!" (my curiosity always calls me "Big T", which I've never thought to ask why)

I have also thought about carrying a jerry can of fuel in the boot, but of course that's not really practical, as I can't leave it in the boot all week, even though the temps in Canberra (and Melbourne) are very low at the moment, so I'd have to stop and empty it into the car at some point, so I'd be much better off just stopping for fuel along the trip anyway. Curiosity vs caution pisses me off............ ;D

Well....that's a coincidence "Big T" ;D ;D ;D
I had to take the Cruiser over to  Temora so Ev's young bloke could finish a job he was doing for me.

Now I'm not a tight arss ::)...............but diesel is 27 cents a liter cheaper over there so I convinced myself that the yank diesel could sneak over on a quarter of a reserve tank.

Believe me Uncle Tez, the big Chevy does not do 33mpg.

So, predictability it started gasping about 5km out.
But I managed to get to the top of the hill and rolled into the first servo punching the air in triumph, only to find their diesel bowser was out of order. :o :(

#$%*! #$%*! #$%*!
I had to play the cripple card and the young bloke at the servo went up the road with a 20 liter jerry for me. :)

I slung him $20 bucks for his efforts so that screwed my fuel savings, but at least I didn't have to ring Ev's young fella to help me out. I would never have lived that down.

I slotted in a faccet electric fuel pump as an auxiliary when we did the conversion,  thank god.
It took a good five minutes to bleed through.
No way the battery would have tuned the old girl over for that long without dieing.
Nor would I have managed with the manual pump without the same result. ???

Cheers,
Brian

Ha ha, I know the feeling Brian, I ran out of LPG in my old LPG Falcon ute twice, the first time I rolled into the servo with no power steering or power brakes as the engine cut out as I rolled into the driveway, and the second time I had to ring the RACV, they just brought out a 9Kg BBQ bottle with a special adapter, and I was good to go. I did waste about an hour waiting though, and nothing pisses me off more than being stuck, helpless, on the side of the road.

Something else that pisses me off is mechanics. The same krunts who did the roadie and charged me 1500 bucks for all the work they did (some of which I've had to correct since) replaced the leaking cam and crank seals. (common fault on Subaru's) The leaks were tiny, but still unroadworthy, so 600 bucks later, they were done. No problem, and I blame myself for not checking the oil after I got the car back, but I park it on my sloping drive or sloping lawn, so don't often get the opportunity.

Anyway, I parked it in the carport yesterday (level ground) left if for 4 hours, went out and pulled the dipstick, and it came out clean? Fark! I managed to get 1.5 litres into it before it was "as it should be", and not surprisingly, the engine sounded a little quieter with almost 50% more oil in it. Now it doesn't leak oil, or blow smoke, so all I can surmise is that those slimy wog krunts who did the seals didn't top up the oil (some of which would have been lost during the seal replacement) when they finished the job? Slimy wog mechanics who only know how to overcharge their customers piss me off................ ;D

NSW cops who adhere to the speed limit piss me off. Everyone and his dog knows that driving a cop car gives you a license to speed, and in Vic, the cops are always hurrying to a murder or a fatal crash or some other cool activity, so you never have to worry about them becoming a fcuking mobile chicane.

When I was driving thru gundagai, a walloper cruised past me in the 110 zone. Iassumed that he'd fcuk off and find some crime to solve but no, he sat on 110 KPH all the way to Yass (the petrol price rip off capital of fcuking Oz, 30 cents a litre dearer than Melbourne, the thieving hick poofters) holding up all of us law avoiding speedsters, geezus it was hilarious, there was a crowd of us behind him waiting for him to piss off, we were so bored we were overtaking each other behind his back, just to stay awake.........

Anyway, eventually he pissed off and I was free to break the law again, but as I accelerated to warp speed, I thought what a waste it must be to have the ability to drive like you're chasing someone who stole it, and just putting along at the speed limit? He may as well quit and get a regular job....... ;d

Detours piss me off. On interstate 65 near here they have about 20 miles of the northbound lanes shut down for repair on a bridge so they have detours on some of the 2 lane highways, the problem is that the road we decided to take last night to detour the interstate had a stretch where it was closed too so we took one detour followed by yet another detour which tacked on about another hour to our drive home last night. I know some of our roads here are in dire need of repair but geez you would think they would've staggered the scheduling of those repairs a bit.

My Moccy's piss me off. Here in the cooler (read: Fcuking Freezing) states, we wear Moccasins made from fleecy sheepskin, usually only indoors, unlike our cousins from the warmer climes who wear thongs (flipflops, not skimpy undies) 365 days per year.

Anyway, I've brought my newest pair of moccys to wear around my palatial accommodation here in the nations capital, only to remember that the reason I've hardly worn them is that they're a size too fcuking small. Now what pisses me off more, is that I let my wife talk me into them when I bought them a year or two (I can't fcuking remember) ago.

I do remember arguing with her that I do indeed need a pair of size 11's in moccy's, but she countered that they'd soon stretch, and 11's would be too big, so being rather bored with the conversation, I just took a pair of size 10's, and surprise surprise, they're still too fcuking small! Fcuk!

Luckily the carpet in my stately company funded mansion is toasty warm underneath, but the tiles in the bathroom are too cold for my dainty feet, so I'm forced to wee in my coffee cup and throw it over the balcony, and just hope I don't hit Pepe, the gardener again, he looked quite offended this morning, even after I threw him a towel. Anybody want a (slightly used) pair of genuine Aussie moccy's? ;D

The numbskulls who dictate "Health and Safety" regulations piss me off. At the weekend there was work being carried out on a bridge over the river Shannon in Ireland. Three workers were in a cage like structure suspended over the river happily doing whatever they had been commanded to do. To stop them falling out of the cage, they were required to wear harnesses which were tethered to the side of the cage. Great stuff, box 1 on the "Safe system of work" statement ticked. Some bright spark decreed that in the million to one chance that the workers fell out of the cage and the harness and tether did not stop their fall, the workers should wear life jackets. That way when they land in the river they will bob merrily up to the surface. A second box ticked, looking good.

Except the billion to one accident took place. The cable supporting the cage snapped and the whole assembly along with the three workers plunged to the river bed. Only one successfully undid his harness and reached the surface the other two drowned.

Why did the numbskull not mandate a second support cable or some other fail safe strategy ? Were tethers over water really necessary, or even safe ?

Numbskulls really piss me off.

Thanks lads for putting up with another of my tirades !!

But jeez, why can't numbskulls get out of formulaic "tick the box" rubbish , stand back, and make an honest assessment of what is safe and what is stupid in the actual context of the work being performed.  I have no doubt that an enquiry in the future will prove that all H&S requirements were satisfied even though two decent guys died on account of their ill thought out regulations.

A friend was a glazer, they were replacing broken factory windows from a bucket lift and were parked on industrial railroad tracks. The safety guy failed to prevent a train from running on those tracks and just before the collision the workers unhooked their harnesses and stepped onto the window sill. Their lift was totaled and the fire department came to get them down. They were written up for unhooking their safety harnesses.  Fcuktard safety guys pizz me off.

That's terrible Kev, safety rules should keep you safe. In Australia, more people are killed in the construction industry every year than die on our roads. I worked in the industry (plant hire) for 2 years when I first left the Army, and remember several times when our guys were sent home from worksites due to a fatality, most of which could have been avoided if the workers on site just complied with laid down safety regs.

I worked at a big warehouse for awhile, and and we had a scissor lift style stock picker, which we ran up and down the 10 metre high rows of shelving. This piece of equipment has plenty of fore and aft stability when extended, but no side to side stability. It doesn't need to for it's intended purpose, as the shelving will only allow it to move an inch or two from side to side.

I was horrified when I walked into the warehouse one day to find two electricians had commandeered the stock picker to change some large halogen lamps in the ceiling of the warehouse. They hadn't asked any of the staff, who were unloading gas bottles at the rear of the warehouse when the electricians arrived. Without anyone's permission, these clowns had driven the picker out of the shelved area, into the open warehouse receipts area.

The picker was at it's maximum extent in the middle of the floor, well away from any supporting shelving, and as it still wasn't high enough to reach the ceiling, these numpty's had erected a 3 metre stepladder on the top of the picker so they could reach the lights. One electrician was on top of the ladder over 40 feet above the concrete floor, while the other held the ladder for him.

I couldn't believe it, neither of them were wearing harnesses or helmets, not that it would have made much difference, the stockpicker is not fitted with "outriggers", so was swaying from side to side as these two "tradesmen" went about their work, apparently oblivious to their situation. The stockpicker is operated from within, so I couldn't override the machine and bring them down safely, and in any case they refused my requests for them to come down, so I rang their boss who was on site, and he shouted them down and proceeded to give it to them to the point where I had to ask him to take them around the back of the warehouse to continue with his "counselling" session, as he was attracting an unwanted crowd of onlookers.

What really pissed me off is that they had a proper scissor lift on site, but these turkeys found our stock picker more convenient than moving their own equipment over from the other side of the site. Apart from putting themselves, and anyone in their vicinity in real danger, they effectively put myself and anyone who witnessed their antics at risk of being prosecuted, as we were responsible for the stockpicker. Fcuking eejits piss me off.................

Yes, you see some crazy stuff.
I recall many years ago when I was in the building game, carrying lengths of timber on my shoulder walking along a steel beam 2 floors up with no nets or harnesses....not even the slightest bit worried, that was the way things were done back then (in the 70s). These days I get nervous on the second rung of a ladder haha.
I also remember a big burly dogman (when they were allowed to ride the crane hook) jumping off the hook when it was still about 3ft off the ground......straight onto a piece of timber with a 4" nail poking out of it....it came straight through his foot and out the top of his boot...I can still hear his screams! Big burly dogman turned into little babbling baby....nasty.

And tell me....why do road workers need to wear hard hats? There's nothing above them except sky and birds sh1tting.
