Thanks Terry.
I like the look of those XS1 bars and they were an option that I looked at.
The second lot of bars in the Postie pics are Honda Magna pullbacks (HSB27) and are a good height and width.

The bars on the Quad Bike are comfortable too and are good for control when the Quad starts getting a bit funny and going sideways on the skinny gutted dirt tracks out in the bush.  ;D

If I was you
I'd be worried about me.

That's OK Pete, it happens to the best of us, it's not a gay thing............. I've gotta get it to Jeff at Ace and have him sort out the ignition fault, I could do it myself by replacing the entire ignition system, but he'll probably just find a bad earth and have it fixed in 10 minutes. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

I got a few hours in today to put the 3 Phase compressor back together.
This is the one that that I thought that I'd get real clever with and convert it with a single phase motor.
That turned out to be a fcuking disaster as well as a WOFTAM. (Waste Of Fcuking Time And Money)
But ya gotta give it a go.

So, no worries, we can do that.
PIGS FCUKING ARSE.

That turned out to be a real poofta getting the pulleys aligned.
The horizontal alignment was a piece of piss because the electric motor pulley is adjustable on the shaft.
But getting the axial offset right was enough to turn a bloke to the bottle.
And it did.

When the belt was tensioned, the fcuking electric motor pulley would kick itself outa square with the compressor pulley.
Fcuk it.
Anyway, it's got 8 thou of kick in the axial offset and that's good enough for the bush.

If the fcuking drive belt jumps the pulley now, I know were there's some explosives.  ;D

If I was you
I'd be worried about me.

It's 26 CFM mate with a 150 litre tank.
The electric motor is 3Ph/5.5HP but I've got no 3Ph grid power here which is why I tried to convert it Single phase with a 15 amp 3.5HP electric motor
but it just didn't have enough grunt to run the compressor motor after 80 PSI.

And that did piss me off because I thought that I'd backed a winner.
So, the options now are either sell it or put a 3 phase outlet on the 12.5 KVA Diesel Genset and crank her up.

There's nothing like a challenge mate especially if it means having a few beers and getting pissed off with these hair brain ideas.  ;D

I'm not "Pissed Off", but I'm a bit flummoxed.

Please explain this rant to me Uncle Tez.

"Simple question, does a mandatory helmet law comply with the Non Aggression Priciple? It does not, as enforcement would involve the initiation of force against a person who has harmed nobody. The end result of enforcement is caging or killing violators (i.e. if the violator attempts to continue on his was while harming no person or property). Remember every time you think "they should make a law ...", the only tool government has to enforce any law is violence.

Is forcing people to wear helmets worth killing for? Absolutely not. All arguments regarding costs to others are irrelevant. Without the welfare state (the initiation of force) there would be no involuntary costs on others. If you have an argument against medical and ongoing costs in a wreck of a rider with no helmet, then you really have an argument against the welfare state and regulation of the medical sector.

With all that being said, I wear a full face all the time every time. I believe that choice has saved my life twice now. I strongly encourage everyone to wear a full face but would never threaten or use violence to get them to do so under duress."

They must have really good drugs over there . ???

Yeah no worries Pete.
It'll pump the pushbike up no problem.
But you have to be a bit careful mate because if you keep pumping big mobs of CFM's into it, you'll blow the fcuka up.  ;D

It's pretty simple actually Brian, he's saying that while he's dead against governments making helmet laws mandatory, (or worse, people riding without helmets being discriminated against by not being covered by medical insurance) he knows that helmets work, and says he's been saved by his own use of a helmet.

Pete, CFM = Cubic Feet (of air) per Minute. Mick's got a beaut compressor, but his 240 volt electric motor doesn't have the grunt to turn the pump once the pressure goes over 80 psi. I think the 3 phase (415 volt) plug on his big diesel generator will do the trick, or send it to me and I'll strap a big briggs and stratton onto it...... ;D

The Air Comp is starting to look like the business again.
The 3 Phase motor is wired into the main isolation switch and all that needs to be done now is to fit and hook up the 3 Phase pressure switch.
The old pulley guard is a bit rooted so I'll either try and knock it back into shape or make up a new one.

I bought a new single phase pressure switch when the single phase conversion was in progress so that'll be a spare now.
Now there is a difference between 3 and 1 phase pressure switches and I don't know what the difference is.
Maybe the 3 phase switch has heavier contacts for the voltage leap so the old lad will be going on before it gets fired up for the test run.  ;D

They can knock up a mean steak in Adelaide Terry.
There use to be a bloody good chook shop on Burbridge Road not far from the Airport.
Pete might know if it's still there.
The Bangers and Mash with gravy at that chook shop was a good feed after the pub closed.

That was the staple diet back in the 70's when I was an Adelaide lad.
Cold piss and chooks made the world go 'round.

Ha ha, those were the days Mick, when we were young and bulletproof, CB750's were among the fastest bikes on the road, and we didn't know (or care) what "handling" meant. I'm at the "Mawson Lakes" pub, I don't think Mawson Lakes existed when I was last here, but for under 30 bucks I just ordered a steak burger with the lot, garlic bread,  pint of cider and a pint of coopers, so I'm not pissed off at all..... ;D
