There's a nice looking unit for sale in Victoria mate that I wouldnt mind throwing a leg over.
I dunno much about the buying prices of BM's but I do know that getting Boomeritis just before Xmas is enough to piss you off.  ;D
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/BMW-R1100GS-/301798477808

yes you should definitely buy it before some big fat bastard who looks a bit like me does! ;D

It's all good Mick, don't panic, I'm not interested.
The fun police took my bike license off me so I'm not in the market.
I've got a bit of a hurdle with the fun police as well mate ever since "another motorbike" was mentioned.
Geez, I had some trouble getting to sleep last night thinking about the Boomer.
It's  difficult to get settled when you've got a Woody poking into the matress all night.

I got the Postie Bike front wheel fairly close to dial in tonight.
It's running close on 10 thou in and out and up and down.
That took a six pack of Coronas to get it to there and then I cracked a Wild Turkey and be fcuked if I could get it any more accurate after that.

So I decided that I was over thinking things care of the alcohol and left it alone until tomorrow.
Trying to negotiate 2 dial indicators and inner and outer spokes with a few beers onboard is enough to piss anyone off.   ;D
If I was you
I'd be worried about me.

Goodness Mick, the remedy is simple. I'm surprised you have not thought about it. Just give up the Jar. It's easy, I've done it hundreds of times.

Bonne chance !

Ha ha, I see that the Pom's have borrowed heavily from the formats of American comedy news shows Kev, which is a relief after the departure of the previous doyens of British comedy, Dick Emery and Benny Hill, thank God..........

But stolen comedy show formats aside, I liked what he said, very astute. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Ha ha, I had a similar night Mick, I was drooling over those Ohlins shocks and thinking how much I need a set on my bike, and trying to come up with a devious plan as to how I can obtain said devices.

That big red boomer looks a bit tidier than mine (mine comes from Frankston, so the sea air has added a bit of corrosion to mine, that I need to clean off) but mine has some trick bits like the Staintune pipe, ECU upgrade, steering damper etc, and with the dyno tune, goes like the powers of piss. Mine's only got 59000 klicks on the clock so not much difference in mileage between the two either.

So I wondered whether I should buy the red one, and install all the cool bits from my bike to it, then sell off my black bike, or just buy the red one, swap the shocks over and re-sell it? This is of course, if you've already talked yourself out of it Mick, I'd hate to be accused of cutting your grass? Of course I could just spend $2500 and buy a new pair of Ohlins shocks, but that wouldn't be any fun............ ;D

No worries mate.
Grab the red Boomer if you can get it.

There's that many projects on the go here at the moment and I'd better stay proactive on those because the missus knows where the shotgun and shovel are kept and a bloke did promise that he'd stay committed.

I honestly can't see myself being able to buy it until  after the start of the New Year.
That's of course unless I wanna see my name on the back page of the NT News in the Funeral section in the meantime which would be a piss off.  ;D

Ha ha, you've gotta ride a big Boomer adventure bike to understand the love Pete, if you started your motorcycling life on dirt bikes like I did, you'll be amazed at how good these things are both on formed roads, and in the dirt. As you know I drive around 1000 miles per week and I see heaps of bikes on the road, the most common are Harleys and BMW GS bikes, followed by BMW road bikes. (you really don't see too many jap bikes doing long distances, especially sports bikes)

The Harleys are understandable as they're very comfy for long rides, but it's interesting to see that BMW is clearly dominating the adventure bike market, there are almost as many big BMW GS bikes out on the road as there is American iron. I've just received an "Air Hawk" inflatable seat cushion that I ordered earlier in the week, my big weakness is that I badly damaged my back jumping out of perfectly good aeroplanes back in the 1990's, and after only an hour or so in the saddle I want to get off. Hopefully if this thing is as good as everyone says, I can join my GS brothers on the highway and do a Canberra-Melbourne run, maybe as early as next weekend? Hmmnnn, do I need a set of Ohlins shocks for the trip? Oooher........... ;D

Your modest demand has been vetted by surveillance bureaux. Proceed with purchase of Ohlins.

The last time I posted on this thread was when my starter shat the bed. >:( After striking out at the junk yard, I decided to check with a local mom and pop shop that specialized in auto electric stuff; I had used them before over the years, and they always had great service at a very reasonable price. When I tried the front door, it was locked, and while deciding what to do next, the door opened and Mom peered out and told me they were closed.... For good, after 42 years serving the Prescott area.... I was both pissed off and bummed out. :(
Then, a couple of nights ago, I got a call from a friend, who had heard for another friend that I needed a starter, saying he had one that had the mounting locations I needed. ;D
Don't fix it if it ain't broke!

Yeah Brian, there was an engine reconditioner who closed his doors after many years in the one shop, he did heads, cranks, cams, you name it, he did it. Of course nowadays cars are throwaway items, so no need for specialists anymore I guess. I only learned afterwards that he did bike stuff too, and was quite adept at porting CB750 heads. I didn't even know until it was too late that his machinery went to the scrap metal guy, because it wasn't CNC. That pissed me off............. ;D

Ungrateful pricks. Next winter the krunts can freeze  ;D
I was out last night and drove past one of our parklands where our bruddas have their parties and deep and meaningful chats about world politics and macro economics....it must have been a touchy subject, one was being beaten over the head with a box of the country's finest chateau de cardboard... ;D

Ha ha, I remember watching a blue in Katherine, NT back in the 90's, I don't know what it was about, but watching a couple of pissed Abo's punching the #$%* out of each other was surprisingly entertaining........

22nd March mate at Port Pirie Hospital.
Even today they're still saying "were'd you get the money for him"
It's only a number mate and a bloke still feels dangerous so it don't matter.

Hey Pete, we'll both officially be old #$%*s and who gives a fcuk about that anyway mate.

Well, the waterfall is a goer again after modifying the plumbing to fit the new Onga pump.
There should be a fcuking law about standardising pool pump fitment because that's a #$%* of a job ungluing PVC joints.
Thank fcuk for 45 degree PVC fittings that let you swing things into line.

But man, it was fcuking hot today.
My bloody eyes were stinging from sweat and that was the 3 litres of water that I drank leaking out of my eyeballs.
Once I cracked a nice cold beer, the job was done, I went for a swim, and the troops are happy.

Even Charlie was pissed off with the heat today but he's had a bowl of tucker and some Chicken Sticks and a big drink of water so the jobs right.  ;D

Way to go mate.
It doesn't bother me if another year ticks over.
That's just how it is.
Someone has to keep kicking goals mate which is what it's all about.
Even if the ol' bones get a bit creaky from time to time which pisses me off.
 ;D
If I was you
I'd be worried about me.
