Its not a bad drive Spotty, I was posted to Brisbane for two years, so did the trip quite a few times. I also rode my BMW K100RT to Canungra via Brisbane in 1991 and loved it, even with a hangover most mornings after a big night's drinking at the end of each 500 mile day.

I left Brisbane for the return trip via Sydney still drunk from the previous night (engagement party) so didn't start to feel the effects until I was across the border in NSW, and as much as I'd hoped to make Sydney that night I only got as far as Newcastle before I had to stop for the night.

I pulled into the first motel with a vacancy sign, and bugger me, the manager was from Melbourne, his wife was away and he was bored, so invited me to drink free booze with him all night. Once more, I hit the road feeling like I'd gone 10 rounds with Cassius Clay...... ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Ha ha, there's a lot to be said for wearing a kilt! I've got the opposite problem, went across the road to the little cafe where I buy my coffee, ordered a plate full of eggs and bacon on toast, which was delicious, except when after the third bite I realised that none of it was going down into my stomach, so just like last week I had to get up, pay for it, then just walk away. That was 2 hours ago, and its still "stuck". Not happy...... ;D

Thanks mate, I have had problems swallowing smoothies, protein shakes etc, although I haven't tried for awhile, to be honest.

I'm not sure that an egg and bacon smoothie would be quite as delicious as it is in its more usual state though? I'll have to think about it...... ;D

I had that one gurp, I identified three meals as they came back up one at a time. Apparently things stopped moving along. Feel better soon. Mine lasted about 14 hours but the damage done by it lasted a few days.
No matter how many times you paint over a shadow, it's still there.

I made this delicious egg and bacon "Banjo" for breakfast Sunday, ate it, then vomited it straight up again. That pissed me off. ;D

Ha ha, I actually thought about it Dave, I've thrown up so much in the last 6 months that I'm surprised that I haven't taken a pic. But to be fair, it was kind of disappointing, as all I'd eaten was the banjo, and it just looked like a munched up banjo. Anyway, if it happens again this weekend, I'll post a pic here. ;D

I couldn’t time my holidays any better, I had a week off work just before Christmas, we spent it by the beach, it rained nearly every day we were there. I thought I would book a week off next week, now we have a #$%*ing cyclone heading our way. Due to hit us at some time between Saturday and Monday depending on what it does. I’m starting to wonder if I have the worst timing ever or the weather gods have something against me. Either way I’m pissed off.

Just grab a couple of Roast Chooks and a couple of cartons of beer Andrew.
It's called a Cyclone survival kit.
Don't go worrying about tins of Baked Beans and bottles of water.
That takes up too much room in the esky mate.
It'll be all over in a few hours if it does come in but I reckon that it'll die in the arse before it hits landfall.

mate of mine picked up a couple of roast chooks and beer one night , put them in the back seat of the car and set off home. rwalised a while later that the chickens might be making the beer warm, reached round to move them and woke up upside down in a ditch at the side of the raod

moral of the story - forget the chickens

I picked up a slab of beer in Sydney in 1981, ocky strapped it to my Yamaha DT250, and rode over to Tom's place. As I was taking my usual short cut through the West Ryde railway station overpass, my superb ocky strapping job let go as I was ascending the stairs, and cans of KB bounced down the stairs, bursting and spraying commuters who had just jumped out of my way. They looked pretty angry, so I didn't stop to collect the errant cans, and Tom (who'd financed the purchase) was pissed off that there were only 9 cans left on arrival..... ;D

an old mate had a 5L bottle of oil strapped to the back of the GPz900R ( saw an immaculate one yesterday, a rare thing these days) and as he was riding up swanston st it came loose, hit the kerb and exploded across a load of pedestrians, he didn't stop either

he also one day was stopped by the cops and based upon his appearance and mode of transport was searched for drugs ( no surprise to anyone that knew ziggy) , the cops proceeded to search his bike by dismantling whatever they could...found nothing and bade ziggy a good day. ziggy enquired whether they would be restoring his motorcycle to its previously complete condition, they advised they would not so ziggy started breaking bits off their car. he got arrested.

Ha ha, nah, Granville was the next station up from where I worked in Lidcombe Brian, I used to sh1t myself going thru that station as they hadn't fixed the line at that stage.

It was KB because of the beer strike, or else it would have been Tooheys New, but Tom didn't care, he'd broken his shoulder blade when he came off his Z1, so I was nursing him back to health. ;D
