Presume drum is still concentric and not warped. Sometimes rotors without good QC or built to better quality standards have excess runout out of the box. It is a frustrating thing dealing with new components and still having issues.
Any Pontiac Firebird or TransAm boards have a clue about this problem/issue?

Hope you can get it sorted out without too much more time and expense.

Flange looks good when in operation.  With the wheel and drum on the axle I get a clicking noise in tune to the turning of the wheel. I did both of these checks by starting the car in neutral while rear end suspended in jackstands. No brakes were applied.

I’m as positive as I can be the shoes are not making contact when the clicking happens.  Possibly wheel bearing. Or there’s some funky interference thing I cannot figure out.

At this point I also found freeplay in the front driveshaft yoke/u joint and can here it clicking in operation.

I found a shop that my buddy has used for his old cars and comes with good reviews and am gonna take it there tomorrow.

Throwing in the towel on this one.  I’ll post the results when done

@scottly...i get the concept of don’t fix if it ain’t broke...but my booster, master cylinder, and lines were trashed and inoperable...so I didn’t change anything that didn’t need changing.

Though I have read the stories of trying disc/disc masters in place of disc/drum.

Yep sounds like a wheel bearing and a buggared uni joint Joe, not much money, and you’ll be cruising in style! ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

"Because of Covid-19......" Lame People !!!!
How many times have I heard individuals around town tell me here(the City of Davis, the City Offices,Police Dept, etc.)that they CAN'T do the regular, everyday stuff that needs to get done !!!! I can't even count the times !
Who or What is ESSENTIAL and who isn't anyway !!!!!

Can you imagine our motorcycle/essential vehicle gets a defective stator/field coil or regulator or rectifier and it doesn't charge the battery any longer ? Would that be an Essential problem to Deal with ?? Because it feels like our local and county, etc. public offices have all lost their will to do their jobs.I wonder sometimes if they have their own private 'source' to take care of themselves but keep telling everyone else "Because of Covid-19........................"
When the going gets tough, the tough get lame ??!!  Should be 'When the going gets tough, the Tough get into action" ! What I'm saying is for these offices who are Needed to help the public, to 'kick it into gear',dig deep and start Caring More. The excuses they have made in the past didn't 'hold any water' back before this virus, but now they just keep making up more lame excuses for not doing what's required to keep their sectors Alive !
Get A Life ! ! !  When I bicycle I enjoy pedaling at a pace that gets me in shape and when I encounter a hill,I downshift to a lower gear(sometimes the lowest gear) to maintain my leg-speed and momentum,to keep forward progress to carry me over the hill.. I need to Dig Deep into my power reserves at times to make it through some difficult stuff.I choose to NOT adopt the 'ostrich approach' and stick my head in the sand and hide from doing the best i can.

We ALL have many untapped reserves of capacity to Overcome and Grow in the midst of adversity.  :)

I just spent all of yesterday at work sitting at a computer, and getting taught how to do the job I've been doing for 20 years by a person who's only been doing her job for half that amount of time, and only did the job I do for a couple of years at the very beginning.  I actually paid attention and followed along, because I know I don't know everything, and there's a possibility to learn something new from anybody.

I can honestly say I learned absolutely nothing.  But hey, I got paid for a full day of doing nothing, and since we're not doing these kind of trainings in person for the time-being, I didn't even have to interact or pretend to be interested in what was being taught.

I'm mainly pissed off because now I have a day's worth of work to catch up on when I go in tomorrow.

For some inexplicable reason it's harder to get a CB750A from Brisbane (Queensland) to southern New South Wales than it was to get it from Wisconsin via California in the US to Australia.
It's a funny old world.

Geez that's no good Brian, you bought it from the same bloke I bought my Effing F2 from, yeah? 3 days from Coffs Harbour to my front door surprised me at how quick I got it, maybe he's lost his favourite courier? Still, it'll be good when you get it. ;D

Rob organised the import and freight in the US, but I bought the bike with the help and assistance from Tews19.
Rob's man here in Australia is based in Adelaide and is only doing the east coat run from Brissy every six weeks or so at the moment. Unlike you I managed to hookup with him at the wrong end of the cycle.
All my other options have put freighting from Qld in the too hard  basket.

well, what a fun day this has been

got up early so i could go to the chainsaw shop before i took the dogs for a walk ( well outside my 5km limit but i like to live on the edge..), took off from the chainsaw shop and the car started coughing and farting, got it into a shops carpark and it died completely.
few tries at cranking it over and it would run badly for a couple of seconds then die again. possible diagnosis - fuel pump

of course due to covid thewre aren't any workshops open but after a few calls and some walking i found one who would stay open until i could get the car towed to him

so i ring a mate i know from dog walking who lives close and he came out and towed the car about a kilometre to the shop where we dumped it, transfered the dogs to his car and he gave me a lift home, he hung around and chatted for a while, i think its the closest either of us have got to non-related human contact in months

so he heads off home, i go inside and unload all the cr@p out of my pockets ive got out of the car ( the car is parked on an industrial estate and the doors don't lock ) and realise no phone...oh cr@p, it must still be in the car

so on with all my bike gear, fill in the log book and out to the bike to go back to the car and get that....bike won't start....oh cr@p

so wait until mrs spotty gets back from the shops and borrow the jeep to go looking and ...no phone in the car so i'm screwed unless...

maybe its in my mates car ? however the only way i can contact him is his phone number inside my phone, don't know where he lives

so now all i can do is hope he finds it in his car and brings it back or....fcuked if i know

so it has been a cnut of a day all in all and i am well pissed off

oh and instagram won't let me log in on the computer to try and trace him because i'm logged in on the phone
i blame Terry

thanks for that dubious honour......

had a look at the bike expecting either no fuel or no spark and both are present, by the time i'd ascertained that the battery was going flat from cranking it over, put it on the charger and left it for tomorrow

still pissed off though

i had thought that, problem is its well over 10 miles to the park he goes to with his dogs, when ive got the car i'm quite happy to wander over there as its a great dog park and a load of really nice people hang out there
and apart from being a bit far to walk there and back we're still in lockdown and not supposed to be more than 5km from home

i did remember i know where he works so i've sent them an email asking them to get him to call me one way or the other

whats pissing me off tonight is the partial lifting of lockdown tomorrow so i have to go back to gardening, and i really hate gardening

Picked up a new-to-me CL175 K5, in rough but very restorable condition.  Not running (of course), but felt like good compression, and clear title for relatively cheap.  Proceed to start some minor clean up work, and see if it will pop with some starting fluid.  Check the points (good), dig out an old battery, lights work, starter spins, no pop.  Pull spark plugs to check for a spark, and find that the left side spark plug hole was stripped  >:(  Apparently this seems common problem with the 175 twins, because out of the three engines I now have, three of the six spark plug holes (two on the same engine) were stripped out by a DPO...

I always thought the spark plug angle(the way they thread in)looked kind of at an odd angle on the 175's,I had to back-out plugs on ones I've worked on in the past rather than strip one.

Or just helicoil it in situ. My first K1 had a stripped plug thread on #3 cylinder, and the mechanic at “Town and Country Honda” (long gone now) was able to helicoil it in situ, which I thought was pretty impressive since I couldn’t even see the plug hole! It worked fine though, I had that bike for another 4 or 5 years and did a couple of plug changes in that time. ;D

well, finally got my phone back, it was in my mates car and he very kindly dropped it off today

the bike , once the battery had been charged upstarted straight up so i took it out for a not very lockdown blast through the hills

neither of these things pissed me off

then we get to the car, its not a fuel pump , its a skipped timing chain allowing the valves on the right hand cylinder head ( V6 ) to contact the pistons.....options at the moment are spend $5K or spend $5K......

if its possible, mrs spotty is even more pissed off than me but shes making sure i'm as aware of that as possible

Hey Spotty, would you like my Exploder? The transmission is sus, either needs a service or a replacement, but it's otherwise a good car, and you can have it for free, if you want it? Still registered and would probably pass a roadworthy, and has more grunt than you need. Let me know, if not, I'll have it towed away. ;D
