Hello everyone. I have recently purchased a 1978 CB550 as a cafe racer project. My hopes are to build something unique that I can be proud to ride. My current daily rider is a 2007 Suzuki DRZ400sm. When I started thinking about what bike I wanted next I started looking at various newer bikes and realized they lacked the character I was looking for. So I started looking for a CB.
My father had a 76 750 that he sold to a friend of his, which I always regretted not buying off of him. So here I am with a decent platform for my cafe build and with long term plans of getting a second cb750 which I would like to restore.
I am looking forward to your guidance as I try and first get this bike motor in shape and then proceed to perform several modifications to build my first ever ”project”.
