Macs are readily available and cheap compared to other "top name" pipes like Yoshi or Kerker. Yoshimura hasn't made Honda pipes for a loooong time. Kerkers are still available also. Yoshi made their standard line (machine bent) and also hand bent race pipes. The standard line was available as either black or chrome and the hand bent was black only. If you would like to see a picture of a Yoshi hand bent pipe, look in the gallery section. Glenn loaded the Yoshimura catalogue pages there. It is at the bottom of the CB750 page. If I had the option to choose between Mac and Yoshi considering there was a legitimate Yoshi available, I definitely would take the Yoshi.

How about fitment ?
Is one brand line up/fit better than others when it comes to 4 into 1's ??

Fitment is a good question. I don't have actual experience with Mac or Yoshi. Lets leave that for others that have the experience. My Kerkers went on my 75 750F like a glove as did the stock header. The actual fitment to the head shouldn't be an issue I suspect. The rear mount might be the more difficult part.

The rear mounting is what I am concerned with. I am in the market for a 4 into 1 for my CB, and I have heard horror stories about people having to make mounts/ buy extra parts/etc for certain systems..

I replied to a previous post earlier this year about the rear mount on my Kerker and posted a picture. Perhaps we could find that. Search Kerker Exhaust Bracket - CB750. I didn't want to have their mount going from the muffler and hanging from my top shock mount. I used that piece, cut and bent it, drilled one hole, spray painted it and mounted in forward and behind the muffler. Was relatively easy and I'd say it looks good but you can't really see it. Much better than their suggested mount.

Comparing a Mac to a Yoshi is like comparing a Hyundai to a Maserati. Only prob with the Yoshi's back in the 1970's was that they were uncompromising, so you couldn't use your centre stand because of the bend, and you had to drop the pipe to do an oil change, but for a racer, or even a cafe racer, they are highly sought after. And the Mac? Well they're cheap.............. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

"Crazy is a very misunderstood term, it's a fine line that some of us can lean over and still keep our balance" (thanks RB550Four)
