Replacing protective engine wire sleeves
«
on:
July 30, 2012, 02:10:28 PM »
Since I'm going through re-painting everything, I'd like to try and replace these nylon(?) sleeves around the wires on various parts of the bike (like from the points) since they've gotten quite dirty over the years. Anyone know of a good place to get replacements?
Thanks!

I bought 5' of this (
http://www.mcmaster.com/#catalog/118/819/=infynn
) last week and its coming in tonight so I have not actually laid my eyes on it from McMaster Carr. It comes in different diameters and I got the 3/16" ID for the points run because I have an electronic ignition and I have to send another wire down that line to the points, and thus my choice of diameter. Lets see, 5' was $1.85

I see... too bad it doesn't come in white or light gray! Looks like the stuff from McMaster Carr is a little closer to original. Guess I'll get some; I've been looking for that particular stuff myself!

I used some dark grey shrink wrap to replace this item. Looks good and can be shrunk to whatever size you prefer.
