I practiced for it in an empty lot... no cones just picked spots and lines to swerve and dodge.
All of the parameters of the test we're well defined for Michigan...but... I just guesstimated when I practiced.
Worked for me.

If you have a menards or lowes nearby they sell cones, the small ones are a couple bucks.

Pretty sure you can still just take the MSF and that certificate plus your permit is good for your endorsement/license.
That's what I did.

+1 on the MFS course.  That's the way it works in Michigan.  You pass the MFS and show your certificate to the SOS and they waive the skills test.  Best $25.00 I've ever spent.  Show it to your insurance agent and you will probably get a break on your insurance as well.

Here in NC the riding test course is on the MC test study book. You could possibly contact a DMV and them what is the distance between cones for the MC ride test.
A good way to practice , find empty parking lot and just set out 2 cones/cups about twice the length of your bike apart, start out about twice the length of your bike in-line with the first cone and ride as SLOW as possible around first cone then between them and make a U-turn and come back the other direction,  EASY. then start moving the cones/cups closer together this will become much harder to do. If you keep the RPMs up a little, the mass of your engine crankshaft spinning acts like a gyro to help stabilize the bike, you will need to slip your clutch to do this.
I think the cones in NC are about 12' apart.
