There is a cam thread on the high performance forum.

My K3 does 125 mph (maybe only 120 on a radar-gun) with stock pipes, 120 main-jets, a K&N filter in the stock box, and 1-over pistons on a fresh bore. I lapped the valves but otherwise the motor is stock. The final drive is 18-43.

So, you want to go at least 125........spend a few hours on the High Performance page.....Dozens of pros have offered very good advice about building reliable power for the street with these 'old' bikes.

What else do you want the bike to do?  The "short duration" part of your comment means you want street-ability?  What's wrong with an F3 cam?... or for that matter a cam spec'd to K0 standards?

HondaMan was gonna have some camshafts cut to his idea of a good one.  Maybe ask him.  I think a stage 1 head, decent cam and at 811 displacement and you're good to go (125mph).

Wacol, PH/ 3271 6001. I talked to them recently and they are still doing cams for our bikes.... ;)

Cycle X    CX7 camshaft. "Similar to the Mega Cycle 125-75 but with 3 more degrees of duration"  $199 US (half price compared with 125-75)
High lift, short duration. Mega Cycle 125-75 has really good reputation on this forum

I have this in the garage, still to be installed.

I read '$339US Hardfaced cam on customer core' in an old catalogue, June 2008. Add  for a core .....  Really lower price today? The latest catalogue online has no prices.
