bought some parts bikes and one is a 11-69 cb 750. There is not a lot of it left. Looked at the engine for serial numbers, but theres nothing there. The rectangular area is textured so I don't think they were removed. It looks like they were never there. To get to the point should I feel bad about making something out of it or using it for parts?

The un-stamped engine cases are replacements. 
And you should never feel bad about doing what you want to your machine.  Look at it this way, anything you do to get it back on the road, or if you use it for parts to get other bikes back on the road, is better than letting it sit and rot in a junkyard!

Sheesh - get the '69 parts off, clean them up (or maybe they're worth more dirty) and start your 'sandcast' ebay listings!  You'll make enough to buy another running 750.

We were all watching that auction mate, and you did ok, so why part it out when you can part out some or all the others and use that money to properly restore the K0? Up to you of course, but I suppose the real moral question here is " Why did you bid on that auction, are you an enthusiast, or did you just buy those bikes to make money?" Cheers, Terry.

I bought the bikes for a multitude of reasons, but the main reason is that I really love 'em. I am starting to learn the ins and outs of them (somewhat) and I enjoy tinkering with my bike. I also bought them because good parts bikes are not that plentiful here in arkansas- as far as I know anyway. As to the ebay question I am not really into selling on e-bay although I do from time to time, but I did not buy to sell. I thought these were a good deal and had hopes that the '69 would be more complete. Unfortunately I think it is missing more parts than it has. The most notable things on it are the carbs and triple tree. Basically I hate to part it out if there is a chance that somewhere down the line someone could use it to get another back on the road.

Well that's OK mate, I can tell that your heart is pure. What #$%*s me is some people who use the excuse "One must die so ten can live" which really is just a metaphor for "I'm a greedy bastard who will fleece a desperate restorer who desperately needs the parts".

I don't know if you saw the thread a month or two back about the K0 that someone was selling in Craigslist for a couple of hundred bucks, it was buried up to its crankcases in someones garden, but an entrepreneur found it and immediately put it on Ebay and described it as a non-runner "living under a blanket in a barn".

I'm not sure how much he eventually sold it for, but I felt sorry for whoever bought it, I can only imagine what was floating around inside the crankcases? Anyway, before someone else says it, you own these bikes so you can do what you like with them, but if it was me, I'd try my best to restore that K0, even if it meant a fair bit of scrounging, and even fitting reproduction or later model parts to it while you waited for the correct ones to appear.

There are way too many K0's being sold off for parts when those bikes could have been put back on the road. If storage space is a problem, send it to me mate, and I'll look after it for you, no worries! Geez, if shipping wasn't such a problem, I'd buy the engine and frame and get you to ship it here? Well as heartbreaking as the thought of your passing is to me mate, I appreciate the gesture, and if you could write that down and lock it away somewhere safe, I'll arrange for my Sicilian cousin, Sean "Ice Pick" Condon, to collect it in the event of your unusually violent, but nonetheless accidental, demise. Ahhhh Terry,
now if Mr Condon is not available I know Vinnie likes to visit the marshes of Arkansas and commune with nature's large toothed animals. (Can I have the right engine sidecover? You know to cover my expenses?)
And I was just starting to actually like 71cb750's posts too. Darn.

Could be the engine is a night-time casted sandcasted casting, or a one off! Worth billions of Aussies $'s.

I am glad that someone on the forum got these bikes.  I was tempted to bid but
Kansas is a long way from Florida and have two in the garage already. 

Ponder your options for awhile....you may find that keeping them is the best one.
