During the replacement of the front fork seals I realized I bought the wrong PVC (pic 1) adapter to use as a press for pushing in the seals. Being as it was late and I could not go back to lowes I was a bit ticked as this bit of my project had been ready and waiting for some time. My mother (I'm at home for the summer) seeing my distress asked the issue and I explained the problem. After sitting there thinking what to do she comes back (after asking the requirements of the press, no metal, not sharp etc) she asks will this due (pic2). Amazing it fits perfects and is stiff enough to do the job yet soft enough it will distort instead of the rubber. Also with the length you get the long leverage to use enough force it slides in quick (pic3) and you get to practice your "you shall not pass!" Dumbledore impression. The tube is for a standard role of fabric.
So fellas (and ladies?) let other people help some times, it can work out.
