78 CB750k Headlight not working PLEASE HELP!!
« on: August 03, 2012, 07:23:10 PM »
For some reason my headlight is not working. I can not figure out what the problem is. I have checked all the wires connections and checked for bare wire. I have replaced the headlamp, the headlight switch, and the fuse. The head lamp and switch both seemed fine, but I replaced them anyways. The fuse also seemed fine, but I may have replaced the wrong one.

What could I be missing???

I am really getting frustrated with this, because I am away from home for the summer and only have my bike to get around. So, no headlight means not going anywhere at night very easily.

Thanks,

Sam

Head light fuse should be 7amps see if you have power on BOTH sides of the fuse. If yes then check at the High/lo sw. Look for power on the red/yellow. If yes then check for power at the blue (high) with the sw. on high Then sw to low and check for power on the white wire. post back with readings

Might be your starter button.
I don't know how the cables are routed on the 750K8 but you could track the cables of your right control switch, disconnect the red/black wire. Now short the red/black wire that's coming out of your main harness to black. If the headlight is working now, your starter button is shot. It's meant to interrupt power to the headlight while starting the motor.
Also recheck your fuse box. Sometimes the solder joints at the back of the fuse box's plate get bad.
