So, without taking careful measurements, because I never learn to take careful measurements, I built one of the adapters from this thread.
Then when I tried to put it in place, I discovered that my exhaust runs fully 3.75 inches below the frame, making it impossible to get the adapter between my bike and the lift. If the bike is simply standing. I can't really get my lift under it without scraping the bottom of the exhaust, let along fit some kind of adapter in there.
Then I found this adapter on line, like the one that came with the lift Lucky says is a tranny lift (didn't Eddie Murphy get busted a while back doing a tranny lift?). So maybe I'll call them tomorrow and see if there's some way I can fit that in.
If not I'll have to use two paddock stands. It just seems to me that the paddock stands lift the swingarm, and that I won't be able to get the rear wheel out with the swing-arm up unless I really chop the rear fender.
Further, I can't see how I can check or change the head bearings with the paddock stands. But again, I'll call them tomorrow, too.
I've tried to include photos, but am not sure if i've got the hang of it yet.
