Lost the plastic miles knob....

I somehow lost the plastic knob piece that resets the miles on my cb550.... :/ now I can't reset .... Anyone know if they still sell this piece or am I screwed?

Its not listed as a separate part in the parts fiche.   Looks like you will have to find a used one.   try the parts wanted section on this site.

I found that a replacement household lamp on/off knob, the kind you can get at most hardware stores, fits almost perfectly.  I've been using one on my 550 for a couple of years now.

I bought household lamp knobs but I'm pretty sure I remember the knob having a screw and it screws into a base.... House hold lamp knobs are female :/

I saw one that was modified with a anodized valve stem cap. Looked cool and worked great. I think some JB weld was involved....
