'70 CB350 Scrambler Throttle questiom
« on: August 06, 2012, 02:39:10 PM »
OK, so this bike runs great and looks good.  My only problem with the bile is the throttle is so HARD to twist.  Are those return springs on the carbs really that strong?  without the springs on them it turns easy.
Any suggestions?

Thanks

Woody

No, something is binding. It is probably the throttle grip itself...Sooo, I would lube the cables, and lube under the throttle plastic sleve and make sure the grip isn't rubbing on the switch/throttle housing.....Oh, and make sure the cables are routed correctly as in no binding or kinks.

Thanks for the suggestion, but the twist and cable and the "Y" are all good.
It only binds with the carbs hooked up.

Sounds like something in the linkage is afoul. How hard is it to actuate the carbs linkage without the cable on it>?

OK finally got it to work.  Took a half a can of WD40 down the cables but it is great now.

BUT now it only runs on ONE cylinder.  The left cylinder doesn't fire when I sue the throttle only on that side.

Always something...  Going out now to check the lines etc...
