replace CB400 ignition switch
« on: August 08, 2012, 04:58:59 AM »
Hi all,

ive rebuilt my ignition switch once, and its failing again, keeping having to squeeze the assembly together to get it to connect.

im about to emigrate and have a 1000 mile trip ahead of me so im just gonna replace it, but i plan to relocate it the the point where the seat lock normally is (its currently in the spot under the tank at the front.

i cant seem to find any details on the connections of generic ignition switches, are they generally the same if they have 5 wires?

any suggestions or help greatly appreciated.

That listed one wont work as in the off position it grounds the ignition to stop the CDI working.

How come your switch is under the tank? all 400's should be between the gauges?

Is your switch the original or an after market? If it is an Emgo aftermarket it is bound to fail-check all the threads. As bryanj asked why is it under the tank? Is that a Euro thing?  ...Larry
